Bridget encourages Nick to make love to her in the office.
|
Nick and Bridget are still in his office, talking about the wedding. Nick jokes that he's going to jump overboard if it doesn't work out this time. Bridget says that they're never going to have to worry about her insecurities about her mother again; from here on in, it's the two of them and their baby. That comment sparks Nick to recall Brooke telling him to forget about her, because he's going to be a father.
Hearing Bridget say that this wedding is finally going to happen brings Nick back to reality. There will be no more relatives returning from the dead or fake heart attacks, he says: it will be just the two of them on the boat, like he always wanted. Bridget concedes that she should have listened to him. Nick suggests that they put in her vows that she'll always listen to him. Only if he'll always listen to her, she laughs. If they're both listening, Nick asks, who will do the talking? Bridget thinks they did fine the other night without talking: in fact, she wants him to make love to her the same way right now. She starts to unbutton his shirt and kisses him, but Nick starts to remember kissing Brooke. He tries to pull away, reminding Bridget that they're in his office, but she keeps kissing him. He looks past her at a photo of Brooke and starts thinking about her. Just then, Nick's assistant Andrea comes in to tell him that his boat captain friend is on the phone. Nick tells Bridget that he has to take the call, spoiling the mood. Once Nick finishes the call, Bridget wants to pick up where they left off, but Nick says they have to get ready for the wedding. He suggests that she go to Forrester to get something to wear. She picks up the phone and dials Forrester; when Megan answers, Bridget asks to talk to her mom, as she has some wonderful news.

Eric is impressed with Dante's work.
|
At Forrester, Dante shows Eric and Brooke some designs he's come up with, inspired by his favorite contemporary artists. Eric is impressed by the work, but Brooke's mind is elsewhere; she flashes back to that night on the Shady Marlin, when she and Nick admitted their feelings for each other. Eric senses her mind is elsewhere and asks if they're boring her. She apologizes to Dante if she seemed like she wasn't listening, because she was. Not very closely, Eric retorts. Brooke reminds him that she's the one who suggested that they hire Dante, so she's already familiar with what the Italian artist has to offer. Really? Eric asks. She assures him that Dante won't get any special consideration because they're dating. Dating her, Dante quips, is reward enough. Brooke promises Eric that her feelings for Dante won't get in the way if they hire him. In that case, Eric says, he and Brooke agree, so he's pleased to welcome Dante to Forrester Creations. He offers to give Dante a tour of the offices, but before they do that, he wants Dante and Brooke to both know that they don't have to put on a show in front of him. He's grateful that their "dating" has put Bridget at ease. He just wants his daughter to be happy. They all do, Brooke agrees.

Brooke fantasizes about Nick.
|
Alone in her office, Brooke's thoughts are still on Nick. She recalls Bridget telling her earlier about the hot, passionate love that Bridget and Nick made the other night. She has a fantasy about Nick coming to the office and making love to her right there. Coming back to reality, she tells herself to stop thinking like that. Dante comes in. She asks how his tour of production with Eric went. He says that she should have come with them, but she says that he got this job on his home. But he still had help from her, he points out, so he offers to take her to dinner in Santa Barbara, to celebrate his new job. Brooke says that she's not in the mood to celebrate. Dante sees that she's distracted and asks if it's because of Bridget, or Nick. Both, she says. He asks if she's jealous. She says she isn't, but she is concerned. From the way Bridget described making love to Nick, Brooke isn't sure if Nick's intentions are pure. Dante reminds her why she's doing this and tells her to stay focused on Bridget. Just then, Bridget calls and tells Brooke about the wedding. Of course, she wants Brooke to be there. Brooke hesitates, but Bridget says that she wants both her parents there. Brooke agrees to come.
After Brooke hangs up, Dante asks her if Bridget invited her to the wedding. So he knew, Brooke realizes, guessing that's the reason he wanted to take her to Santa Barbara. He says that she's right; he thought it would make things easier for her. Anything would be easier than going to that wedding, she says, but Bridget wants her there, so how could she say no? So she's going, Dante guesses. She says she has to go, for Bridget's sake. She has no other choice.

Dante tells Bridget that he wants her to be happy.
|
Nick asks Bridget why she told her mom about the wedding. He thought it was just going to be the two of them on the boat. She wonders why he has a problem with inviting their parents to their wedding. Bridget then leaves and goes to Forrester. She stops by Eric's office and is surprised to see Dante there. He explains that he made his pitch to her parents, and they hired him. Bridget congratulates him. He guesses that he should be congratulating her, too. She guesses that her mom told him about the wedding, but he tells her that Nick told him. Bridget worries that he and Nick argued about it, but he assures her that they didn't. While he admits that he and Nick don't get along, he realizes that Nick cares about her and the baby, just like her mother does. He knows that Brooke and Nick have put their feelings for each other in the past. Bridget thanks him for saying that, and for all his help the past month. He says that he just wants her to be happy and move on with her life. She says that she'd be happier if she could find her dad, since she needs a dress. Dante offers to help her find Eric, but she decides to stop by Brooke's office instead to have Brooke help choose a dress.

Nick tells Brooke not to be at the wedding.
|
Nick stops by Brooke's office and says they have to talk. Brooke tells him that he can't be here, since he's marrying her daughter tonight. Yes, Nick says, he is, and that's why he's here. He came to tell her not to come to the wedding. A shocked Brooke asks him if Bridget changed her mind. Nick tells her that he didn't even know Bridget was going to invite her. Brooke admits that she was surprised herself, but she couldn't say no when Bridget asked. But she has to say no, Nick says. She reminds him that she already accepted. He tells her to find any excuse necessary, because he can't have her at that wedding. She asks if he thinks it will be easy for her to stand there, watching him marry her daughter. That's exactly Nick's point: he feels the same way. He knows he has to go through with this wedding, but he fears he won't be able to go through with it if Brooke is there!
