Darla reminds Sally about the term of Thomas's contract.
At Spectra, Sally and Darla go over the latest sales figures. Sally raves about their rising star, Thomas, and the money his designs have brought in. Darla asks Sally if she's talked to Thorne about what they're going to do, since Thomas only signed a short term contract. Short term? Sally asks, wondering who offered Thomas a cockamamie deal like that. "You did," Darla laughs. Sally looks over the contract and sees that Darla's right; she doesn't know what she was thinking by letting her "golden goose" go after just one golden egg. Darla protests, but Sally tells her that Thomas is Spectra's future; she declares that Thomas isn't going anywhere if she can help it.

Thomas and Gaby defend their position.
Meanwhile, Thomas sits by his desk with Gaby, looking at his photo on every major fashion magazine. His collection is a hit, Gaby says with a smile. Too bad his life isn't doing as well, Thomas laments. Gaby apologizes for making his parents mad at him, and for calling a lawyer. He just wishes she had warned him about that. There wasn't time, she explains, since his mom was ready to let Agent Dunn take her away and deport her. Thomas still can't believe that his mom went ballistic over his having sex with his loving wife. Gaby reminds him that Taylor loves him, too. She understands how hard it must be for him to be at odds with his family. He reminds her that she's his family, too. Just then, Ridge pops in; he asks Thomas to call his mother, who's been worried since what happened with Gaby. Thomas tries to offer his side of the story. Ridge sarcastically asks if Gaby needs to call her lawyer but then takes it back and offers to hear his son out. Thomas thinks that his mom overreacted, but Ridge thinks that Taylor was just protecting her son. "Like you tried to protect me from Amber with a bogus restraining order?" Thomas asks.

Ridge tells Thomas and Gaby that they have to face the consequences.
Gaby asks Thomas if he's comparing her to Amber. He says he isn't. But that's the way his parents see her, she points out, as a gold-digger. She turns to Ridge and reminds him how she turned down his mother's offer of a lot of money. Ridge says he remembers that, just like he remembers his mother was driving the car the night Gaby's mom died. But accepting that his family's responsibility to her doesn't mean accepting her marriage to his son, he explains. It also doesn't mean he can treat her like a criminal, Gaby argues. She asks Ridge if he knows what it's like to have people you've always respected treat you like a disease that infected their family. That sounds like how Grandma treated Brooke, Thomas points out, but now his parents are treating Gaby the same way. Ridge says that's not what they meant to do. But that's how it feels, Gaby says. Ridge explains that he and Taylor are upset that Gaby and Thomas got married in secret, and they then broke their word and had sex; he finds that acceptable. That's why, even though he doesn't want to hurt Gaby, he thinks that she and Thomas have to face the consequences.
Sally listens in on the conversation.
Thomas tells Ridge that he can think for himself. But he's too young to get married, Ridge tells his son. But they're already married, Thomas says. Not for long, Ridge says. He and Taylor are willing to help Gaby, but this marriage has to end. Thomas protests, but Ridge stands his ground: he will not allow this marriage to continue as long as Thomas is under his roof. Just then, Sally approaches the office and listens from outside. As Ridge says that Thomas has no choice about annulling this marriage, Sally listens outside and says that Thomas DOES have a choice: she'll see to that personally!

Jackie fears that Brooke's plan is a recipe for disaster.
At Cafe Russe, Jackie can't believe that Brooke intends to move on with Dante; she thinks it's an enormous risk. But it's worth it if it puts Bridget's mind at ease, Eric responds. Even if Bridget is relieved to see Brooke with another man, Jackie points out, Nick won't be; that's why she's sure this plan is just a recipe for disaster that will blow up in Brooke's face. Eric asks if she has a better way for Brooke to make her point. There has to be a less subtle and less dangerous ways, Jackie says. She can see how jealous her son is from his body language. Eric doesn't think Nick will say anything inappropriate in front of Bridget, but Jackie fears that her son won't be able to hold his tongue. If Nick behaves, she explains, it will only be an attempt to be mindful of Bridget. But Nick loves and was committed to Bridget already, Eric states, and he'll be committed to her again once he sees that Brooke won't betray her daughter. Even if Nick and Bridget are happy, Jackie says, it won't be as happy as her son would be with Brooke. Eric asks how Nick and Brooke could be happy knowing they betrayed Bridget. Jackie asks how Nick can be happy with Bridget if he'd rather be with Brooke. He can't, Eric says, which is why Nick has to forget about Brooke. Jackie doesn't know if he can.

Bridget tries to get Nick to relax.
Across the room, Nick asks Brooke what's going on. Bridget guesses that he hasn't heard that her mom is dating Dante, so she invited them here tonight. Brooke reminds Bridget that she thought this might be uncomfortable, since she and Nick were angry about Bridget and Dante's abortion deception. Nick tells Brooke that it looks like she's over that. Brooke thinks Nick should be over it, too. Bridget asks Nick why he's not happy for her mom. Brooke thinks that Nick is happy for her, but he's finding it odd to see her smile with all the recent stress in her life. She asks Nick to sit down, because people are staring. Bridget agrees. Dante says that Bridget wants a relaxed dinner. "Then she shouldn't have invited you," Nick snaps. Brooke and Bridget both ask Nick to see that tonight is about celebrating an exciting time in his life with Bridget. A life that doesn't include Dante, Nick insists. Bridget reminds him that Dante is her friend, and she thinks it's great that Dante and her mom have something of their own to celebrate. Brooke tells Nick that it's time for him and Bridget to get on with their lives and focus on the wonderful times ahead for their child. Brooke asks Bridget about the ultrasound and marvels at how amazing the photo is. Bridget agrees as she takes out the picture and shows it to Dante. Brooke comments that Nick must be ecstatic to finally have a child of his own on the way.
When dinner arrives, everyone's enjoying the food but Nick. Bridget guesses her fiance prefers burgers and fries to the food here. Brooke asks Bridget if she told Dante about the dinner Bridget made for Nick by the pool, but Bridget thinks it can't compare to the night Nick proposed. She recalls how he had Chuck close down his bar, and Nick even wrote a song, "Soul Reason," for her. That was very romantic, Brooke note. She knows things have been rough for Nick and Bridget lately, so she toasts to the life they have ahead of them. Nick just stares at Brooke as they clink glasses.

Dante tells Bridget that he and her mom would do anything for her.
Bridget then asks Nick to dance with her, but he's not in the mood, so Dante offers instead. Out on the dance floor, Dante asks her what she thinks of him and her mother. She's glad to see them enjoying each other's company. Dante says he and Brooke are still getting to know each other, but they have one thing in common: they'll do anything for Bridget. Hearing that, Bridget asks Dante if he's dating her mom to make her feel better. He says he doesn't need an excuse to date her mom. Nick thinks he does, she notes. He reminds her that Nick's never liked him, so he wouldn't read too much into Nick's reaction. Bridget says she's trying not to.

Brooke orders Nick to accept his future with Bridget and the baby.
Back at the table, Brooke tells Nick to get over it and stop acting jealous in front of Bridget. He asks how he's supposed to react. She thinks he should respect her moving on with her life, but he tells her that he can see that she's acting. No, she says, it's a date. That may be what she expects Bridget to think, Nick says. Brooke says she wants to see her daughter happy. And in case Nick hadn't noticed, Bridget IS happy tonight, relaxing and celebrating instead of brooding. She thinks Nick should do the same and focus on his life with Bridget and their child. Bridget and his child aren't the issue, he says. But they are, she says. As much as she wants and loves him, she wants Bridget to be happy even more. And after Bridget nearly had a breakdown over this, Brooke wants their child to come into the world with two loving parents. She reminds Nick how he always wanted a child. He has that now. He's a parent, so he better act it but accepting that Bridget and his child need him and his love and commitment. Doesn't he understand that they deserve that? she asks as she starts to cry. Nick is silent and then answers, yes. Bridget and the baby are his future now, she tells him, and nothing else matters. She then repeats, "Nothing," as Nick looks at her.
