Sally has an offer for Thomas.
In Thomas's office at Spectra, he and Gaby open a sofa bed to sleep on. Gaby says that there's a bright side to his dad's visit: the fact that his dad doesn't hate her as much as his mom does. She looks for her nightgown; Thomas suggests she look in the file cabinet, lamenting that they've been forced to live here when they should be starting school. Gaby asks if they can still do that. That was the point of their marriage, he reminds her. Besides, she has her scholarship and his parents have already paid his tuition. Just then, Sally pops in; eyeing the sofa bed, she says she can empathize with them, having been thrown out by Forresters in that past. In fact, she feels like an expert in that regard, so she wants the newlyweds to make themselves at home here until Thomas makes up with his family. Thomas doesn't see that happening, since his dad wants to get his marriage annulled. Sally is stunned. Gaby admits that she and Thomas only got married for her green card, but things have changed. But his parents would rather see him become a jock and date co-eds, Thomas laments. Sally sees why Thomas is so upset and has an idea how to cheer him up: she shows him the national gross sales figures from his line to show just how hot he is right now.

Thomas and Gaby consider what Sally has to say.
Thomas is stunned at how hot he is based on the figures, but Gaby isn't. Sally tells them that Thomas's line is the one teens want right now. She knows college seems exciting to him right now, but does he really want to go through four years of school for an entry level job that pays nothing? Or would he rather be cashing in now, when he's hot, and put off college until later? Gaby says that Thomas wants to go to college. But people go to college now when they're 50, Sally suggests, so why shouldn't Thomas ride his current wave of popularity until then? In fact, she has a brand new contract prepared for him. Thomas reminds her that his tuition is paid. She suggests he pay his dad back, but he tells her that the money he made this summer is in a trust fund. Sally has the answer to that: she shows Thomas a check for his signing bonus, with lots of zeroes! He's stunned that he can be making this much. That's because he's not an unknown anymore, Sally says. Gaby reads the contract and asks about the part about who gets rights to what. Sally tells Thomas not to worry: she would never cheat him, since she knows what his Uncle Thorne would do if she even tried! The zeroes on his bonus, she points out, give him more than enough money to pay his parents back for his tuition and to get a nice house for him and Gaby. Gaby can go to school and he can make enough money to make his parents eat their words about his marriage. All he has to do to make it happen is sign.

Brooke tells Nick to do right by Bridget and their child.
At Cafe Russe, Nick holds the ultrasound of his child. Brooke tells him to look at his child. She guarantees that after the baby is born, he'll see everything he wants in that child, like she does in Bridget. That's why she wants him to forget about her and commit to Bridget, without regrets; she knows it's the best thing for all of them. Still holding the ultrasound, Nick says all right. She needs to hear him say it. He tells her that he can't stop loving her, but he can bury his feelings for her, like he did before. And one day he'll realize it's what he wants, she says. He points to the ultrasound and asks if the baby is sleeping. Not always, Brooke says; she tells him the baby kicks sometimes, and it knows it's not alone, as it hears its parents. Nick guesses it's like being at sea. He wonders if he would have spent his life at sea if he had heard his father when he was younger. Brooke says she's happy for him. He thanks her, but she says she should be thanking him.

Dante sees Bridget is distracted.
On the dance floor, Bridget is dancing with Dante, but she's watching her mother and her fiance. He asks why she didn't warn Nick about his being here tonight. But why should Nick care if he [Dante] is with her mom? she asks. Maybe Nick thinks he's a a plague on all humanity, Dante says. Or maybe Nick just can't see her mom with anyone else, she wonders. They return to the table, where Bridget suggests going for a moonlight swim in her mom's pool. Nick thinks it's late, and Brooke doesn't want to get wet. But there's probably a nice breeze, Bridget says, and they can find some champagne. Nick's not in the mood, and Dante says he's tired. Bridget doesn't see why they're being such wet blankets about this, especially when she's pregnant and is fine with this. She pauses and says she has to go to the ladies room. Once she's gone, Nick says he doesn't want to sit by the pool. Dante thinks Nick should go, and so should Brooke. He tells him that Bridget was eyeing them from the dance floor and her insecurity is being aroused, so some time at the pool will help quash that. He goes to get the check. Nick tells Brooke that he's done being tested. Then come to the pool, she says. Nick promises to love Bridget and their child, but he can't watch Dante put his hands on Brooke. Bridget needs that, Brooke says, begging Nick to do it for her.

Eric takes Jackie to the beach house.
Across the room, Eric and Jackie watch. Jackie thinks this is cruel and unnecessary and wants to put a stop to it. Eric reminds her that his daughter's happiness is at stake. Jackie can't see how Bridget can be happy married to a man who loves her mother. Eric tells her to ruin his daughter's happiness on her own time. She says she is on her own time, but he reminds her that she's here with him. He's sat across from a woman who fumes about how others can't live their lives properly one time too many, he states. She doesn't want to be Stephanie. Then let him take her home, Eric says. He takes her back to his beach house, to protect her from herself. Jackie wonders if he's right about Nick and Bridget. It's just that she knows Nick and Brooke are meant to be together, and... He thinks they both have been around long enough to know that "meant to be together" and "meant to be happy" aren't always the same thing. And that's how he thinks it is between Brooke and her son, she guesses. Eric tells her that Nick and Brooke really believe they're doing what's best for everyone - and maybe for once, they're right.

Nick can't bear to watch Brooke with Dante.
Brooke, Bridget, Nick and Dante arrive at the pool. Bridget asks Brooke if there's new patio furniture. Just a few things, Brooke says, now that there's a man around to do the heavy lifting. Bridget goes to get some champagne for the others - she can't have any, of course, but she likes watching it - and Nick goes with her. Once they go, Dante asks Brooke how she wants to do this. She asks if Bridget needs more convincing. That's why they're here, he says. He thinks Bridget has to see Nick acting too jealous to watch him and Brooke together. As Brooke sits on a chaise, she says she hates doing this. Dante asks if they should just stop now. That will just make things worse, Brooke says. They have to reassure Bridget, she reminds him. Dante sees Nick and Bridget returning, so Brooke tells Dante to stroke her hair and pretend to kiss her. Bridget and Nick watch; Bridget guesses her mom and Dante don't need champagne. Nick wants to leave, but Bridget thinks her mom and Dante will fell bad if they do. Brooke asks Dante if they're watching. He thinks so, so the two of them keep up the display of passion.

Bridget wants answers from her fiance.
Bridget sees Nick looking away and asks why this bothers him. He feels like he's in high school, he replies. Bridget knows he doesn't like Dante, but she thinks he has to admit her mom and Dante look good together. Meanwhile, Dante tells Brooke that Bridget and Nick are still there, and Nick doesn't look happy. Brooke wishes they would leave already. Dante suggests stopping. Brooke says she hates this as much as he does, especially seeing what it's doing to Nick. Dante worries that Nick might lose it, causing this plan to blow up in Brooke's face. Brooke says she's sorry it came to this. She thought being together at dinner would be enough, but Bridget obviously got insecure watching her with Nick at the table. That's why they have to convince Bridget that this is real. While Nick keeps watching, he remembers Brooke telling him to let her go. Bridget brings him back to reality by asking if they should open the champagne. Nick thinks they should: they could use it to douse those two. Bridget gets up and asks Nick what's wrong. She sees that he's uncomfortable watching her mom with Dante, so she asks to ask him why it bothers him to see her mom with another man - and she wants the truth!
