Jackie asks Nick to be honest about his feelings.
On the Shady Marlin, Nick comes inside and is surprised to find Jackie still there. She wants to tell him something about what's best for him at this critical time in his life. Like he could stop her, he sarcastically laughs. He'll do the same for his child someday, she says, and she hopes his child has the sense to thank him. He asks if she wants him to thank her. She tells him to be honest with his feelings. He says he has been; he's always loved Brooke, but that doesn't mean he can't be happy with Bridget. He was thrilled when he found out she was carrying his child. Until she told him about the "abortion," Jackie retorts. That was a mistake, he says. It was an immature lie, Jackie says. Nick insists that this child is a blessing. Jackie agrees, since this is her first grandchild. At the same time, though, she can't bear to see him deny his true feelings. Like she did? he asks; he won't let his kid grow up without a father like he did. Jackie explains that she let Massimo slip away BECAUSE she ignored her feelings, and Nick paid for that. She doesn't want to see Nick make the same mistake and only face his true feelings when it's too late. She reminds him if how he's said that Brooke redefined his life, and she's sure Brooke can do the same for him, if only he'd let her!
Nick refuses to listen to Jackie, who reminds him how he and Brooke have both searched for someone they can depend on. Brooke thought she found it with Ridge, but she hadn't, because he [Nick] is Brooke's destiny. What about Bridget? Nick asks. He promised her that she can depend on him, so how can he turn his back on the mother of his child? He goes up on deck; Jackie follows and tells him that he's not doing Bridget any favors by staying with her because of a child. Bridget wants a man she can believe in, Nick says; that's why she tested his commitment, and now she thinks he passed. He gave his word and he's keeping it. And he'll just sweep what he and Brooke admitted under the rug? Jackie asks. He says that Bridget has nothing to worry about, but Jackie is skeptical that he and Brooke can control their feelings. Nick vows to make sure he does. He walks over to the rail and tosses his cigar over, looking torn. He tells Jackie that he doesn't know what to do. He's always been honest, she tells him; that's one of the reasons Bridget was attracted to him, and that's also why he has to be honest with Bridget. If he keeps up this charade, she says, he's cheating everyone, so he has to be honest. She knows he'll see that sooner or later, and she hopes it's sooner. She then leaves a thoughtful Nick alone; he goes below deck and calls Brooke. He has to see her. We only hear his side of the conversation, but Brooke must be resisting, since he says he doesn't care: he's coming over now!

Bridget tells Dante that she wants to be with Nick.
Dante drops by the hospital to see Bridget; he wants to know what happened with Nick. She apologizes for not calling to tell him, but she was exhausted after her talk with Nick. She explains that she told Nick the truth, and she slept for twelve hours straight after their talk. Dante recalls what a wreck she was recently, and he's sure that her pregnancy didn't help. Bridget can't believe what she put everyone, including Dante, Nick and her mom, through. She did what she thought was best for her child, Dante points out, even if she did lie about an abortion to test Nick. She agrees that she WAS protecting her child, as messed up as it seems. Her mom and Nick admitted having feelings for each other, Dante reminds her, so how could she not feel devastated? What she felt, she says, was insecure, and she wants to put that behind her and move on - which is what she intends to do by starting a family with Nick.

Dante wants Bridget to be happy.
Dante tells Bridget that he doesn't want to see her hurt; he hopes she's right about Nick, but if she isn't and Nick disappoints her again, he promises to be there for her. Nick and her mom got over their feelings for each other, Bridget tells Dante, and now he needs to get over his feelings for her. He gives her a look; she tells him to stop, because he deserves better than to be someone's "Plan B." He asks if she wants him to let her go. She says that if he's still holding out hope... His only hope, he says, is for her to get what she wants, for her and her baby. She wants to be with Nick, she says, and Nick wants to be with her. Dante nods and turns away. Bridget tells him not to be sad; she's sure a catch like him will only be on the market for a few months. More like a few hours, he says with a smile. She laughs that she should have known not to worry about someone like him.

Thomas asks his mom about why his dad isn't here.
Taylor, Thomas, Gaby and the twins return home. The twins rave about Thomas's designs. It's no wonder Sally wants to extend his contract, Gaby says. Taylor is surprised to hear that; Thomas laughs that Sally will have to deal with his agent. Taylor wonders if Eric or Ridge might make him an offer first; after all, Eric told him to get some experience, and he did. She's sure Ridge would be proud to work side by side with his son. If his dad's so proud, Thomas asks, why isn't he here? Taylor and the twins go upstairs. Gaby reminds Thomas how proud his sisters were of him. He's sure they'll be ragging on him again by morning. Besides, he's still bummed about his dad. He really hoped Ridge would come home with them. Taylor comes down and says she felt the same way, but she doesn't want her and Ridge's impasse to ruin Thomas's mood. But she and his dad were supposed to be part of this, he says. Taylor says she and Ridge will need more than a fashion show to fix things between them; she even suggested counseling. Thomas asks why; Taylor looks toward Gaby and tells Thomas that they shouldn't be talking about this. Thomas sees her look and asks if this is about him and Gaby. She and Ridge disagree about whether he and Gaby can play by the rules, Taylor explains, and seeing the two of them kiss backstage didn't help. He told her about that? Thomas asks. Taylor nods and reminds him of the rules. Gaby starts to protest, but Thomas interrupts. They just got caught up in the moment, he says, and only his dad saw them... As long as that's as far as it goes, Taylor says, kissing Thomas and bidding him and Gaby good night.

Gaby is moved by Thomas's romantic overture.
Once Taylor is gone, Thomas tells Gaby to meet him at the cabana in a few minutes. When she gets there, she finds that he's arranged for a romantic candlelit celebration for two. She worries that his mom will find out. Her room's on the other side of the house, he says. He tells Gaby that he learned something today. About success? she asks. Actually, he learned something more important, he says: having her by his side, he realized how incredible she is and how much she's brought to his life. He knows his mom wants him to explore all his options, but he doesn't want to be with anyone else. He loves her. Gaby says that she loves him, too. He admits he didn't expect to feel this way, but it just feels so right to be with her, or even just near her. Gaby tells him that he changed her life; he made her feel safe after her mother died, and she wants to show him how she feels. They kiss. Thomas then asks if she'll let him make love to her. She says that she wants that very much. He tells her not to worry, since they're married. But they have to be careful, she says. Thomas checks his pockets and finds them empty, so he tells her to wait here for him to get something from the house.

Taylor is stunned to find Gaby in the cabana.
While Gaby waits for Thomas, she sees someone outside. She thinks it's Thomas and rushes to the door, but she's stunned to find Taylor there! Looking around, Taylor figures out what's going on, and she's furious! She fumes that she did so much to protect Gaby, even lying to the INS, and all she asked in return was for one small thing in return. But nothing happened, Gaby protests. She and Thomas were just talking and celebrating, she insists. Taylor looks around and thinks the romantic setting says otherwise. She asks for the truth, so Gaby admits that she and Thomas were going to make love. Taylor can't believe it: she went out on a limb and defied her husband to help a nice girl in a bad situation, and all Gaby had to do in return was stipulate to one simple little rule not to get physical with Thomas. She has to wonder if Ridge was right that they couldn't trust two teenagers to stay in a house together without crossing the line. Gaby says that they just got caught up in the moment and begs Taylor for another chance. If she means another chance to deceive her and abuse her trust, Taylor says, forget it. She tells Gaby to pack her things and go stay with Stephanie.
No, Gabi says. "Excuse me?" Taylor asks in disbelief. Gaby defiantly tells a shocked Taylor that she's not going anywhere.
