Hector tells Taylor not to let Ridge make her feel guilty.
At the Bel Air mansion, Taylor apologizes to Hector for Ridge's outburst. The fireman tells her not to worry, because Ridge was out of line. He thinks Ridge doesn't wish he'd chosen Brooke and is just upset about the situation with Thomas, but he doesn't think Taylor should be blamed for that. He recalls how Ridge made Brooke feel guilty in the past if Ridge couldn't fix a problem, and he advises Taylor not to let Ridge do that to her. Taylor agrees, recalling how degrading it was to share her husband with Brooke, even if only for a day. Hector thinks it's tragic that two women like her and Brooke were put in that position. They both wanted Ridge so badly, Taylor explains. She hoped that was over when Ridge chose her and they renewed their vows. Hector bets it's hard for her with Ridge and Brooke working so closely every day. It is, Taylor says, but she promised herself that she wouldn't be that way any more. She used to think she was a good mother, and a good judge of character. She's all of that, Hector says, and more.

Taylor considers Hector's suggestion.
Hector reminds Taylor that she's a gifted psychiatrist, so he suggests that she get back to work. She could start her practice up again, he says, or write a book, rather than sitting around, pining for Ridge. He then finishes fixing the alarm. He tells Taylor that he knows what it's like to be measured against someone else's gold-plated yardstick for self-worth. Taylor guesses the old saying, "Physician heal thyself," applies. Hector says she will heal herself. She laments that she spent so much time thinking about what Ridge wanted that she didn't ask herself what she wanted. She knew when she returned that she would go back to work eventually, but she wanted to get her marriage back on track first. But now she sees that she felt guilty about going back to work. Because of Ridge? he asks. Because she would feel guilty, she explains, for charging people for good advice that a handsome fireman like him hands out for free. She thanks him for reminding her that there's more to her life than just Ridge.

Bridget asks Brooke to help put the past behind them.
Over at Brooke's, Bridget admits being surprised that her mom has hooked up with Dante. But that doesn't mean she's not happy for Brooke, she adds. In fact, she's glad her mom is happy, too. She asks Eric what he thinks. He says that Brooke never ceases to amaze him. Bridget tells Brooke that Dante is amazing, too. She thinks Brooke can fall in love with him. Brooke says that she just might. Eric takes that as his cue to excuse himself to meet someone for dinner, so he bids Bridget goodbye and leaves. Bridget then recalls something she wanted to share with both her parents. Since Brooke is still here, she takes a photo out: it's an ultrasound of her baby, looking quite healthy. She can't wait to show it to Nick. He wasn't there? Brooke asks. Bridget explains that she didn't even know the doctor was going to do the ultrasound until she arrived for her check-up. Nick will understand, Brooke says, and he'll be glad that the baby is happy. She suggests that Bridget go out with Nick to celebrate. Bridget agrees, and she asks her mom if she and Dante would join them. Brooke doesn't think that's a good idea, since Nick and Dante don't get along. It will be the perfect time for those two to get to know each other, Bridget says, unwilling to take no for an answer. She thinks it will help the family put all the craziness behind them.

Jackie wonders how Nick can deny his feelings for Brooke.
At Marone, Nick tells Jackie that Brooke won't see him. Jackie asks how Brooke expects to just bury the feelings they have for each other. Nick says he's not sure how Brooke intends to do it, but she told him on the phone that she has to, for Bridget. Still, he recalls that Brooke sounded strange on the phone, so he thinks she must have some plan. Jackie doesn't see what that plan could be, short of giving Bridget amnesia - or of getting involved with another man. She then takes back that last part, since she doesn't think Brooke would bring a new man into Hope and RJ's lives. Another man? Nick asks. Jackie points out that Bridget would feel better if she saw her mother with another man.
Before they can say anything else, Bridget comes in with a surprise for Nick. Jackie takes that as her cue to leave for a dinner engagement. Bridget asks Jackie if they can get together soon, as she'd like to spend time with her before the baby comes. Jackie says she'd like that, since she's glad to see Bridget doing so well; she then turns to Nick and tells him that he doesn't have to be so overprotective; it's obvious to her from this conversation that a strong young woman like Bridget can handle almost anything. She then leaves. Bridget asks Nick what that last comment meant. Nick asks her to tell him the answer, since she's the one making plans with his mother, who she hasn't gotten along with in the past. Jackie's still their child's grandmother, Bridget points out. She then tells Nick that she understands that things have been tense between them, and she understands. She wants him to know that she's putting any insecurities about her mother behind her. Nick asks what changed her mind. She replies by showing him the ultrasound of their very healthy baby. Nick can't help but smile at the image. He asks if she's really put all her recent stress behind her. She says she has. In fact, she can't remember when she felt so good, but she wants to keep the feeling going with a celebration tonight - if he's up to it, that is. She's made all the arrangements, and he doesn't even have to change. He asks where they're going. It's a surprise, she says, hoping he'll be as happy about it as she is.

Dante figures out what Brooke is up to.
At Insomnia, Dante sips his coffee and recalls his kiss with Brooke again. Smiling, he thinks that Logan (didn't anyone tell him that was Ridge's name for Brooke, and that it's retired now?) is quite an intriguing woman. He calls her and leaves a message asking if she'd like to go out with him again. A while later, he heads back to Brooke's, where she's about to call him herself: she wants to know if he's free tonight. He thinks that's short notice to make reservations, but she tells him that Bridget made all the plans for the two of them to have dinner with Bridget and Nick. He thinks Nick will be upset to see them together. Why should he? Brooke asks; after all, Nick is committed to Bridget. Dante thinks about the scenario and starts to piece it together: Brooke wants Bridget to see him out with her, so she thinks Brooke's moving on. But he knows Brooke is still in love with Nick, so she must be using him - and he almost fell for the power of Brooke Logan. He tells her he won't be a part of it; he cares about Bridget too much to do this and wants to tell her. Brooke asks him to wait; she admits that the kiss wasn't sincere. But he commitment to Bridget is. She needs Bridget to see them together - and more importantly, she needs NICK to see it. She knows Nick is committed to Bridget, but he and Bridget are both caught up in the past. That's why they need to see a happy Brooke moving on, and Brooke can't do that without Dante's help. She pleads with the handsome artist to help her family move on: she knows this is the only way to do that.

Eric tells Jackie what Brooke has in mind.
Later, Jackie and Eric are dining at Cafe Russe. Eric tells her that Brooke may have found a way to deny her feelings for Nick. It's not something he would have recommended, but he has to admit that it's eased Bridget's fears. And just what has Brooke done? Jackie asks. He replies by looking past her, to where Brooke and Dante are entering the restaurant. Jackie turns and can't believe it. What better way for Brooke to show she's moving on? Eric asks. Jackie is sure Nick won't like this.
As Brooke and Dante are seated, Dante tells her that he still doesn't think he can do this. They have to, she says, for Bridget. He thinks Bridget deserves the truth. Brooke insists that it's true that she's committed to a life without Nick. Even though she loves Nick? Dante asks. If it gives Bridget the life she deserves, Brooke answers, yes, it's worth it. She reminds Dante that he knows of her past with Bridget; she refuses to cause her daughter any more pain again. Meanwhile, the Maitre'd shows Nick and Bridget to the table and tells them that the other couple is waiting. Other couple? Nick asks. He gets his answer when they get to the table and find Dante kissing Brooke's hand. What's HE doing here? Nick asks, fuming at the sight of Dante with Brooke. Dante greets Nick and Bridget and thanks them for inviting him. He gestures for them to join him and Brooke. Bridget thanks Dante and sits down, but Nick is clearly furious as he glares at Dante.
