Phoebe frets about Gaby living in her home.
|
At Ridge's mansion, Phoebe asks Steffy for help with her trig homework. Steffy says she's busy and suggests her sister ask Gaby. Gaby ought to do something around here, Phoebe snaps. She doesn't even want Gaby here. Steffy asks what's wrong with Gaby. Phoebe asks her sister if she'd rather have Gaby here, or their dad. She then goes to knock on Thomas's door with her trig question; since she knows he's still awake, she's surprised when he doesn't answer.

Gaby tells Thomas what tonight meant to her.
|
Thomas is still in Gaby's room as they bask in the afterglow after making love. He's taking everything in, while she has tears in her eyes. He asks why she's crying; she says it's just that she's so happy that he was her first. Despite the way they got married, she loves how things turned out; She thanks him for being her husband and making her cry. She admits she was scared when they got married, since she thought he was just being nice. People get married for worse reasons, he points out; in fact, he thinks she saved him from his lame excuse for a life. They kiss. As Gaby puts her nightgown on, Thomas says that he wants to yell or even jump out the window over happy he is. She suggests he get dressed instead and hands him his clothes. He suggests staying the night, but there's a knock at the door: it's Phoebe. Gaby frets that Phoebe will find her brother here and sends Thomas to the bathroom. She then answers the door. Phoebe barges in and asks for Gaby's help with trig; she looked for Thomas, but he wasn't in his room. Gaby suggests that Thomas went to get some ice cream. She tells Phoebe she's sorry, but she's tired, so she asks if they can do this tomorrow. Never mind, Phoebe snarls, leaving the room. As Thomas comes out of the bathroom, Gaby tells him that she told his sister he was downstairs. She tells him that this has been the most special night of her life, but she thinks he should get back to his room. He gathers his clothes; she spots his condom wrapper and reminds him to take that, too. They then exchange "I love you's" before Thomas leaves.

Thomas gets angry when he's caught by his sister.
|
Alone in her room, Gaby has a big smile on her face as she gets into bed, caresses her pillow where she and Thomas just lied, and puts her head down. Meanwhile, Thomas gets back to his room; he doesn't realize that he dropped the condom wrapper outside his door.
Phoebe shows up and finds the wrapper by the door. "Ice cream, huh?" she says, looking disgusted. Thomas is inside, looking through his clothes for the wrapper, when Phoebe knocks. Thomas answers, obviously annoyed at his sister for bothering him about homework when he's trying to get to bed. She snaps that he only seems to have time for Gaby lately. He tells her to grow up and accept that there's hard stuff in life that she has to do on her own. It's easy for him to say, she says, since he's taken care of. He asks what she means; she shows him the condom wrapper and says she knows what it is. When Thomas lunges for it, she pulls it back and threatens to tell their mom that he broke the rules unless he does her trig homework for the rest of the year. Thomas tells her to forget it; she'll get Gaby, who they've known or known of for years, deported if she rats him out. Besides, he and Gaby are married. Gaby doesn't belong here, Phoebe states. Thomas tells her to mind her own business, but she thinks this is her business given who left since Gaby moved in. If she's talking about their dad, he says, Gaby has nothing to do with it; it was their mom who kicked Dad to the curb. She suggests they see what Mom has to say about that. Thomas tells her not to do it. She says she came here to talk, like she's done so many times before, so she doesn't see why he has to be so mean. She leaves.

Nick can't accept Brooke decision to forget their feelings.
|
Brooke and Nick are still kissing passionately by her stairs. Brooke pulls away and tells Nick that this is wrong! She tells him to leave, and not to come back unless he's with Bridget. Nick says that they can't just ignore how they feel. They have to, Brooke insists; he's engaged to her daughter, who's carrying his child. He knows that she thinks she's doing the right thing. It's what she can live with, she states. Can she, he asks skeptically, given what's between then? She's going to lose either him or Bridget over this, she says, and it can't be Bridget again! Even if it means that her daughter will live a life with a man who wants to be with her? he asks. She tells him that he loves Bridget. But things have changed, he says, and he doesn't think he can live with turning his back on her. Maybe he's being too honest or too selfish, but he can't just walk away when he's found the woman he's looked for all his life. He thinks they both care about Bridget too much to lie to her. She reminds him how Bridget lied about the abortion as an example of how fragile Bridget is - and he's not even really lying, because he does love Bridget! He asks if she's considered that Bridget won't want to be a runner-up to her mom. Brooke refuses to change her mind. He asks what he should do when he sees her and wants her. She says she can leave town with Hope and RJ, and he can even hate her if it makes things easier. What she's doing isn't making it easier, he says.
Bridget's in her car, talking to Eric on her cell. She tells him that her child will never know about her stupid lie and asks him to wish her luck with Mom. As she ends the call, she starts to hear Nick singing "Soul Reason" in her head as she thinks of him. She's brought back to reality by honking car horns, so she gets on her way and soon arrives at her mom's. She comes in the door and is glad to see that her mom and Nick are both here. "Nick came by to see you," Brooke tells Bridget, but Nick says he came to see Brooke. Bridget tells Brooke that they're all family now, so Brooke doesn't have to pretend every time she runs into Nick out of fear that Bridget will go ballistic. She even admits that Brooke and Nick might have something other than her to talk about it, although she guesses this conversation WAS about her. She knows the damage she did can't be done overnight. It's just that sometimes, all you feel about love is the hurt, and that's what happened to her. She hopes they can finally put all this behind them.

Bridget asks Nick if he can forgive her.
|
Nick tells Bridget that he's happy about the baby. Still, he wants her to know that he understands her motives and partially blames himself. Brooke suggests that he and Bridget need some time alone to prepare for the baby. Bridget agrees and hopes she hasn't ruined things so badly that Nick can't give her that time. He tells her to stop blaming herself, but she cuts him off and promises to make it up to him if he'll just give her another chance. "Let's see how it goes," he says. In that case, Bridget says, they should get home. She bids Brooke good night and tells her that she loves her, giving her a hug. As she looks over Bridget's shoulder at Nick, Brooke says, "I love you too, honey. More than you'll ever know."
