Hector joins Taylor at Cafe Russe.
|
Taylor is dining alone at Cafe Russe when Hector, atypically clad in a suit, appears. He tells her that the maitre d' calls him in when someone eats snails, just like the ones on Taylor's plate, to keep them from choking on the shells. That's why you don't eat the shells, she quips. He asks if she's waiting for anyone. She tells him that she isn't; after all, her daughters blame her, and each other, for everything, her son is shacked up with his illegal alien wife and her husband is upset that she's working again. In that case, Hector laughs, he'd like to join her. After Hector samples the cold soup - chilled soup is generally that way, Taylor laughs - and admits how out of place he is here, Taylor asks what brought him here. He admits he tracked her down. She asks if she's a fire hazard. In that dress, he laughs, she is, but he actually stopped by her office to check on her. Once he convinced her receptionist and colleagues that he wasn't some deranged patient, he tracked her here.

Taylor tells Hector what's on her mind.

Hector offers to tell Taylor about his dreams. She says that she's off duty. He hopes that doesn't mean that Ridge convinced her not to return to work. She can't help but wonder if Ridge is right; maybe that coma caused a misfire in her brain, she speculates. Hector's answer for that is for her to sit with him and eat more stuff they can't pronounce. Taylor agrees and tells him about Ridge's "solution" to their problem with Thomas, to solve it on the runway. Hector isn't surprised, since Ridge sees everything as a contest, including her competing with Brooke for Ridge's affections. She senses he has little use for her husband. What's useful about designing clothes that most people can't afford or would look foolish wearing? he asks. Taylor suggests they change the subject. He tells her not to put herself down for what's wrong with her family; that's part of life, he reminds her. She asks if it's part of life to have everything go disastrously wrong. He senses that she's missing some of the ordinary things in life that you don't always see, so he asks her to come with him. He wants to show her something.
On the Shady Marlin, Bridget tells Nick that he's supposed to say "I do." Nick doesn't think he should say anything until Captain Seager addresses him by his full name, Dominick, so the captain asks "Dominick" if he takes Bridget to be his wife. "I do," Nick this time responds. Seager then asks if anyone objects to this union; Jackie looks to Brooke, but they both stay silent. With no objections, the captain asks the parents of the bride and groom to act as witnesses, attesting to their support of this marriage. "Yes, we do," they all reply in unison to the captain's questions. With that out of the way, it's time for the happy couple's vows. The captain asks Bridget to repeat after him in a standard wedding vow: "I, Bridget, take you, Dominick, to be my wedded husband. I will trust you and honor you, I will love you faithfully, whatever may come, for all of my days. As I give you my hand, so I give my life to your keeping, so help me God."

Brooke sheds a tear as the wedding concludes.
|
The captain asks Nick to repeat after him, too, but Nick prefers to say it in his own words: "I've always felt that the best gift in life is the gift of giving. And I want to thank you for what you've given me. You've given me your life. Your love. And now, you're gonna give me a child. I promise to honor that. And I promise to give you my best as a husband and as a father to that child, so help me God." With that, the captain leads them through the exchange of rings and pronounces the happy couple to be husband and wife! Everyone applauds as Nick kisses his bride except for Brooke, who has a tear flowing from her left eye down her cheek as she watches Nick kiss Bridget.

Mr. and Mrs. Dominick Marone
|
Shortly after, Massimo toasts to his son and the lovely lady who brought Nick to ground, while Eric welcomes Nick to the family. Jackie thanks Bridget for loving Nick and apologizes for how she's acted in the past. She hopes Bridget can forgive her. Bridget says she understands. Jackie thanks her. Bridget sees Brooke crying and tells her mom to stop, before the tears get her crying again, too. Brooke says she can't help it, as this is the moment that every mother dreams of for her daughter. Bridget admits that she never thought she could be so happy. Of course she can be, Brooke says. Massimo calls Bridget over for a photo; while Bridget goes to pose for her new father in law, Brooke stands with Nick. She says it was beautiful. The ceremony showed that he loves Bridget. Nick agrees that he loves Bridget, and he intends to make sure that Bridget will always know that. Brooke thanks him.
After the guests are gone, Nick takes Bridget below deck, where he has a romantic bed for two waiting for them. They hold hands as he tells her that tonight is the start of their life together. He says, "I love you." "I love you, too, very much," she replies before kissing him. Nick removes his jacket and shirt and starts tossing rose petals on the bed, where Bridget lies, wearing a light colored negligee. She tells Nick that she can't wear things like this much longer. He tells her that he always thought that pregnant women's bellies were sexy, although he wonders if that sounds perverted. Why does he think she married him? she asks. He jokes that she could have done better, but she says that she picked him from all the men in the world. She asks if he knows what it said next to his picture in the global catalog of men. Pervert? he asks. It said, "unafraid of love," she tells him. He gazes at her. She asks what he's thinking about. Good things, he replies as he kisses her and takes her into his arms before making love to her.

Eric commends Brooke on what she did tonight.
|
Brooke returns to Forrester, where Eric finds her alone in his office. She tells him that she has a lot of work to catch up on, but he thinks that the job she did tonight was damned impressive. Their daughter is married, she muses. And any other woman would have fought tooth and nail for Nick, he points out. She's just glad that their daughter has the life she deserves. And, she adds, it felt good for her, for a change, to be the mother that Bridget deserves.

Ridge tells Brooke that he still needs her.
|
After Eric leaves, Brooke sits alone. She again flashes back to happy times spent with Nick as a slow, instrumental sax version of "Going Back Again" plays in the background. "Good bye, Nick," she says to herself as she sits alone in the dark room. Just then, Ridge appears in the doorway; he saw her car in the parking lot and decided to stop in to see her. He asks how the wedding was. Perfect, she says. Then why is she here? he asks. She tells him to go home. He tells her that he doesn't have one, since Taylor asked him to move out. A stunned Brooke asks why. He says it's a long story. What he finds more interesting is that here he is, with her. Have they ever been alone and free before? she asks. Ridge thinks they've been alone, but he's not sure about the free part. And now that they are? she asks. Now that they are, Ridge says, he needs her more than ever. They gaze at each other.
