Thomas and Gaby think about Sally's offer.
At Spectra, Sally points out to Thomas all the things he can do with the signing bonus check she gave him (which we now see is $250,000). He can be rich and famous, he guesses. And happily married, Sally adds. Gaby asks if she and Thomas can have some time to discuss the contract. Sally thinks five minutes will be enough and offers to go powder her nose and come back, but Gaby asks if they can think about it overnight. Sure they can, Sally says. Thomas thanks Sally for everything; she tells him to just wait, as there's more to come tomorrow.

Once Sally leaves, Thomas and Gaby climb into their sofa bed and talk about the offer. Thomas points out that his family accepts his uncle working here. But it took a while to get over the hard feelings over that, Gaby reminds him. Thomas agrees, pointing out how little the family sees of Thorne these days. Gaby recalls her mom telling her how important family was to the Forresters; she doesn't want Thomas to do something that will prevent him from patching things up with his parents. Thomas thinks about what Sally said, about him riding the wave of being an overnight success. Gaby assures him that he'll be a success in anything he does, whenever he does it. Thomas tells her that she makes him the man he wants to be and asks her not to go anywhere. She says she won't. That's what marriage is about. They share a kiss. Thomas considers looking at the contract again. It's probably fair, Gaby says, but she wonders if he should consider what his family wants as much as what Sally wants. Including how his parents feel about her? he asks. Except that part, Gaby replies. Thomas asks how she can stick up for his parents after the way they treated her. Anyone who loves him is on her side, she says, whether they know it or not. He thanks her for being an amazing wife. She says it's easier than she thought. They lie down in bed and kiss again.

Eric and Jackie get close.
At the beach house, Jackie thanks Eric for bearing with her tonight, even though she tried his patience. They hear some noise from outside and go to check it out. They find some cats having fun on the deck. As they do back in, Jackie asks if he was expecting someone. He tells her that Stephanie, with her beady eyes at the window, likes to ambush him here, usually by saying that there's something important she needs his help to stop. Jackie hopes she's not a busybody like that. Eric says she isn't; he thinks she's right to concerned about Nick. Jackie just doesn't want to see Nick wind up like her, alone because she married a man she didn't love when the man she loved seemed out of reach. She felt like she was missing something better. Everyone feels that way occasionally, he says. She asks if he does. Not right now, he says, as he has the ocean and the quiet - except for his feline friends, that is. And he has her, he adds. Jackie wonders if humans, as a species, know what makes them happy. Maybe happiness is a surprise, Eric says. Jackie wishes that Bridget and the baby could surprise Nick that way. Eric suggests that tonight can be a surprise for the two of them, right here.

Jackie tells Eric that she's convinced, although she won't give him the credit for it: she's going to be happy for Nick, Bridget and their baby, although she still fears being called "grandma." She'll get used to it, Eric laughs. He asks when he should get her home. She says she's not looking forward to it; she hasn't been back home since this morning, when her divorce papers arrived. At least she didn't get her's delivered wrapped around a flaming arrow, he quips, like he expects Stephanie to do. Jackie says that she never expected to be alone, even though she's been that way most of her life. Eric has to admit that he never was alone while married to Stephanie. Maybe he just likes hearing someone in the next room turning a page, she suggests. Eric looks at her and says she looks like she needs to be kissed. If he kisses her, Jackie says, he'll only have to buy her dinner. Eric figures he can splurge before Stephanie and the lawyers take his money, so he kisses her. Jackie warns that she's not easy. Eric says he's a cold egotist, but he's good in bed. Jackie jokes that they won't get that far. That's for future reference, Eric says. He also likes the lights on, he adds. Then they're doomed, Jackie laughs. Eric says he's been doomed before. She asks him to please be sincere. "God, you're beautiful," he says. Close enough, Jackie says as they fall into another kiss.

Nick tells Bridget that he doesn't trust Dante.
Bridget and Nick are still by Brooke's pool. Bridget asks again why he's bothered seeing her mom with Dante. He says he just doesn't trust Dante. Meanwhile, Dante tells Brooke that this isn't working. Nick looks like he's in hell, the artist points out, and Bridget isn't watching. Brooke wishes Nick would leave. Dante thinks they should stop. Brooke asks if Bridget and Nick are arguing. Dante says they are and feels this plan is backfiring. Brooke thinks Nick just needs to hold on for a few more minutes, but Dante fears Nick won't be able to. He has to, Brooke says.

Nick keeps watching Brooke with Dante, who tells Brooke that they have to give Nick and Bridget what they came for and kisses her again. Brooke frets about what this is doing to Nick. Dante says he can see why Nick isn't over her yet. He is, Brooke says. They start to kiss again, but they stop when Nick reaches over and pulls Dante off Brooke! Brooke and Bridget both ask Nick what he's doing. Nick says Dante isn't good enough to kiss Brooke's feet. Dante tells Bridget to look at her fiance, who obviously isn't over her mother. Brooke tells Bridget not to listen. Nick tells Bridget that this is wrong and tells Dante to stay away from Brooke. Bridget calls out his name - and we see that he's still sitting there. He only imagined confronting Dante. Bridget asks him if it's just Dante, or if he'd be this way seeing any man with her mom. He says that he is committed to her. He feels weird being here, so he asks if they can leave. Bridget agrees; Brooke and Dante are relieved to see Nick and Bridget leave.

Bridget is upset over Nick's attitude.
As they board the Shady Marlin, Bridget asks Nick why he's still angry. He says that he felt foolish watching that display at her mother's house. He thinks that should show why he doesn't like seeing Dante with Brooke. She asks him why her mother was crying at the restaurant. Because of their baby, he says, taking out the ultrasound photo. He tells her that her mother was talking about the wonderful future ahead for them and their baby, and if she has a question like that, she should call her mother. She says she won't. He tells her to do it, as he's tired of being tested. Bridget's not happy with how this is going and says she's going to stay at her mom's tonight. She starts to leave, but Nick then remembers Brooke telling him to start acting like a parent. He goes after Bridget and tells her to wait. He loves her and wants her to be happy, so he's sorry. He takes her to the bed, where they undress and make love.

Brooke thanks Dante for his help.
By Brooke's pool, Brooke thanks Dante. She doesn't know if she's making things better or worse, but she just wants her daughter to be happy, and for Nick to keep his commitment to Bridget. But is Nick doing that for Bridget, Dante asks Brooke, or for her? From where he's sitting, Nick's love for her was never stronger than it was tonight. All that matters, Brooke says, is that Nick gives Bridget the life she deserves. Dante then goes to bed, and Brooke starts crying.
