Jonathan brings Eric the means to end his marriage to Stephanie.
Jackie is with Eric in his office. He explains that he told Stephanie about the night Brooke and Nick admitted their feelings for each other on the boat, hoping that Stephanie would understand the sacrifice Nick and Brooke are making to protect Bridget. Instead, Stephanie decided that Bridget had to know the truth and rushed to tell her. And it's all to get back at Brooke, Jackie guesses, even though Bridget is the one who will be hurt. Before they can continue, Eric's lawyer, Jonathan Young, stops by. Eric introduces Jonathan to Jackie and asks if Jonathan has the papers he asked for. Jonathan says he does and hands Eric the papers; all Eric has to do, he explains, is sign these and his marriage to Stephanie will be over by day's end. Eric thanks Jonathan. Jackie asks Eric if this is a good idea, given Stephanie's current foul mood. The papers, Eric says, are only a formality; his marriage to Stephanie ended when she lied about her heart attack. Jonathan tries to caution Eric, who tells the attorney that he should have done so BEFORE he remarried Stephanie. Besides, he points out, Stephanie gave Jonathan power of attorney when she had her stroke. Jonathan asks Eric if there's any chance he and Stephanie might make up, as they have in the past. Not this time, Eric says; he thinks Stephanie went too far, and he can no longer deal with her need for control and her vendetta against Brooke tearing his family apart. He needs to get this cancer out of his life. Jonathan shows Eric where to sign. Jackie looks on, hopefully, as Eric removes his wedding band.

Eric and Jackie discuss his divorce.
After, Jackie is alone in the office, reading the divorce papers. Eric returns and says it's done: he's a free man now and wants to celebrate. Jackie asks if he wants to go to Cafe Russe, but he has something more private in mind with a very captivating woman. He asked Megan to hold his calls, since he's feeling naughty now, and he chases Jackie around the desk. He tells her that he hasn't felt the enthusiasm and desire she brings out in him for a long time and starts to kiss her neck. He then tells her that he has a gift for her in his pocket. She reaches in and pulls out a jewelry box. Eric tells Jackie that he wants to spend the rest of his life with her as she opens the box and finds an exquisite diamond ring!

Jackie hears Eric call her name, which brings her back to reality: the proposal was just a fantasy. Eric tells her that he walked Jonathan to his car. So his marriage is over just like that? she asks. Yes, Eric says, asking if she would hesitate to treat a disease that was poisoning her entire family. Stephanie didn't deserve a man like him, Jackie says. Eric locks the papers in his safe, saying that it won't be long now before his marriage is over. He just wonders how this will affect Bridget's situation. Jackie warns him that the only thing worse than an angry mother lion is a wounded mother lion. Well, Eric says, Stephanie is not Bridget's mother. Brooke is, he points out, and Stephanie had better leave Brooke and Bridget the hell alone.

Nick and Brooke tell Stephanie not to say anything to Bridget.
On the Marlin, Brooke again asks Stephanie not to say anything to Bridget. Stephanie asks who's going to stop her. "I am," Nick says, coming on board. Brooke asks him where Bridget is; he says he didn't want her to be here while he got this cleared up. He asks Stephanie what she was threatening to do to Brooke. She tells him that she only wants Bridget to know the truth about what happened between him and Brooke on this boat that night, but she thinks it would be better if Bridget heard it from him. Brooke accuses Stephanie of trying to make Bridget distrust her. Bridget should never have trusted her after Deacon, Stephanie retorts. She turns to Nick and asks how he could throw himself into his fiancee's mother's arms after learning he "lost" his child. He asks who told her that; Brooke says Eric did, but Stephanie says it's not important how she found out. What's important, she says, is what he's going to do about it. Nick tells Stephanie that's none of her concern, because his marriage is HIS business. He and Bridget are happy, he says, and Bridget can take care of herself. How can she do that without knowing all the facts? Stephanie asks. Brooke tells Stephanie that Bridget doesn't need her protection. And she doesn't want it, either, Nick adds. Stephanie tells him that he and Brooke can't just bury their feelings. What he and Bridget can do, Nick says, is move on, which is why he wants Stephanie to leave this boat and forget what Eric told her.

Stephanie wants Bridget to hear the truth.
Stephanie tells Nick that he and Brooke are delusional if they think they can overcome such powerful feelings. She thought he was different, but she sees that he's lying to Bridget and himself. Nick doesn't care what she thinks. He used to think she was full of principles and morals, but now he sees that she's just callous and judgmental, so he doesn't care if she's disappointed in him. And whatever he thinks of her, she says, the truth is still the truth. The truth, he says, is that he and Bridget are committed to each other. She tells him to forget this delusional fantasy where he's playing white knight to Bridget and do something, before Brooke ruins Bridget's life again. Nick tells her to stop this: he warns her again not to say anything to Bridget, especially not anything against him or Brooke. Or what? she asks. He tells her again to keep her mouth shut and stay away from his wife. Stephanie looks to Brooke and shakes her head no before turning to leave. Once she's gone, Brooke thanks Nick for arriving when he did. The only problem, she says, is that they still have to do damage control, because Stephanie is not going to stop.

Dante brings the drawing he did to Bridget.
Bridget is at Chuck's when she gets a call from Dante on her cell. He says that he's pulling up by the boat. She says that her mom and Stephanie are there, so why doesn't he come over here to meet her? Chuck comes over and offers "Mrs. Marone" - a name he never thought he'd be saying - some milk. She thanks him and asks for some fries with hot sauce. Noting that the baby has dad's taste in food, Chuck goes to get the order. Dante comes in; he and Bridget exchange greetings. He says this is an interesting place; fortunately, she says it's not crowded tonight, or she'd have to leave because of the smoke. Dante then hands her a portfolio; she opens it and praises him on the drawing of her that's inside. He asks what's going on by the boat between her mom and Stephanie. Stephanie never gives up, she explains. Fortunately, Dante reminds her, neither does she. She thanks him again for all his support, and for the picture. He tells her that the picture was easy: he's never seen her so happy, and he thinks that makes her beauty shine. He's glad he was able to capture that. She tells him that things are going well; Nick even bought a bunch of gifts for the baby, she explains. Now, thanks to Dante, she has a wonderful gift for Nick; she signs it, "Nick, all my love, Bridget."

Bridget is paying her tab when Stephanie comes rushing in. Bridget says that she doesn't have anything to say to Stephanie, who is fine with that, since she thinks she should do all the talking anyway. Bridget has no desire to go there and asks Stephanie to leave, but Stephanie says that she can't. Bridget turns her back on Stephanie and says that she has no interest in anything Stephanie has to say. Stephanie says that she knows that, but she feels that Bridget has to listen to her, anyway. As Chuck watches, Stephanie grabs Bridget by the arm and drags her out the door. When Nick arrives looking for Bridget, Chuck tells him that his drinking buddy, the old silver bird, showed up and dragged Nick's missus out of there. Nick realizes that it's Stephanie and charges out the door.

Bridget wonders why Stephanie nearly kidnapped her.
As they arrive at the mansion, Bridget asks Stephanie why she's acting so crazy. Stephanie asks Bridget to calm down, so they can discuss this rationally. Bridget accuses Stephanie of nearly kidnapping her. Stephanie thinks it was better than causing a scene in the bar; she had to get Bridget someplace safe so they can discuss something important.

Nick returns to the boat and tells Brooke that they have to go, since Stephanie took Bridget from Chuck's. There's no telling where they are, Brooke says. She suggests that Nick call Bridget's cell phone. He does, and she answers. She tells him that she's at Stephanie's, listening to the family matriarch's latest rant. Nick tells her to get out of there and warns her not to listen to anything Stephanie says, but Stephanie grabs the phone. She turns it off, to avoid any other distractions. Bridget tells her to go ahead and get whatever she wants to say off her chest. Stephanie says she wishes she didn't need to have this conversation, but everyone is lying to Bridget. Including her, Bridget says. No, Stephanie says, she isn't. She reminds Bridget how she tested her mother and Nick, after she found out she was pregnant. She lied to them that she had an abortion, to see if they could overcome their feelings for each other. She thought they had, but they didn't: in fact, when they believed Bridget had aborted the baby, Nick and Brooke finally admitted their feelings for each other. They felt free to express their love for one another. Bridget laughs that Stephanie is lying, but Stephanie tells her to ask Eric is she doesn't believe her. Brooke told Eric the day after it happened that she was happy, because she and Nick accepted their feelings for each other. She was happy? Bridget asks. Stephanie says that she's sorry to break this news to her, but her mother and Nick failed the test. They betrayed her. Brooke has done it to her all over again.
