Benjie, L.A. caterer extraordinaire, does a job for Eric.
At Eric's beach house, he has Benjie Lloyd of Elite Choice Catering working with two female assistants to prepare the house for a special evening. Eric apologizes for the short notice and asks Benjie if everything will be ready on time. Benjie assures "Mr. F." that it will be an evening to remember. Eric's counting on it; he wants a very special evening for a very special lady.

Over at Marone, Nick tells Jackie how Stephanie butt into his business, despite his warnings not to, by telling Bridget about what happened between him and Brooke on the boat. He's sure Stephanie did it to make Brooke look horrible to Bridget. Bridget then had no choice but to confront her mother. Jackie is so sorry to see how upset her son is over this, but he's more concerned about how Bridget had her heart ripped out. He asks how he could have let that happen to someone he claims to love. Jackie tells him not to blame himself, as he and Brooke tried their hardest not to hurt Bridget. But they did, Nick says; what kind of person does that make him? Jackie tells him that tormenting himself about why it happened won't change that it did, or that he and Brooke, his first love, still have powerful feelings for each other. Even Bridget knew it, she says. And no matter how much it will hurt Bridget, Jackie thinks Nick will not be happy until he's with Brooke.

Jackie tells Nick about her love life and advises him on his.
Before Jackie can say any more, she gets a call on her cell from Eric; he says that he has to take care of some things first, but he wants to meet her later to talk about something important. He says he'll call her to let her know when and where and hangs up. He then tells Benjie that he needs to run out, so he wants to make sure everything's ready. Benjie assures him that the lucky lady, whoever she might be, will be blown away.

Back in Nick's office, Nick asks Jackie about the call she got; he didn't realize she and Eric were so close. They are, Jackie says; in fact, Eric is insatiable after years with Stephanie. Nick doesn't want the details of his mom's sex life to a married man; Jackie tells him that Eric managed to get a divorce without Stephanie knowing, so she wonders what Eric wants to talk to her about. Nick wonders if it's a proposal; Jackie tells him that Eric isn't his father, but she cares deeply for him. She hopes Nick will give them his blessing. Nick says he loves her, so if Eric floats her boat, she should go for it. Jackie thanks him and tells him to find Brooke; maybe this is the chance they've both been waiting for, she suggests.

Ridge blames Nick for what happened with Bridget.
Stephanie is in Ridge's office, telling him how she told Bridget about Nick and Brooke's feelings for each other. Ridge asks if Brooke and Nick slept together; Brooke said they didn't, Stephanie explains, but even so, something significant obviously happened. Brooke told Eric the next day that Nick was her destiny, she points out. She hates to tells Ridge this, but it looks like he's been replaced in Brooke's heart. Ridge thinks his mother should have stayed out of it, but she thinks Bridget deserved the truth about how Brooke again betrayed her. Ridge notes how she blames Brooke and reminds her that Nick is no choir boy, either: in fact, he thinks Nick, who married Bridget while he loved another woman, is completely to blame. Stephanie isn't surprised that he's defending Brooke, but she wonders if he's jealous. Ridge reminds his mother of her heart attack hoax; he thinks that stunned Brooke so much. And that's why Brooke turned to her daughter's husband? Stephanie asks. This Brooke bashing, he tells her, is only going to keep pushing her family away from her, including Eric - that is, unless she doesn't want Eric anymore. Of course she does, she says, which is why she needs Ridge's support. She's sure she and Eric can mend fences in time. Ridge offers her a hug. She thanks him; she loves her family and wants her marriage back, and she's sure they'll come out of this stronger than ever.

Stephanie is surprised by what Jackie shows her.
Meanwhile, Jackie enters Eric's office; finding the office empty, she sits in Eric's chair and remembers him asking her at the beach house recently how he could find someone with Stephanie's wit and Brooke's charm. She and Eric then kissed. Back in the present, Jackie finds a jeweler's receipt for wedding bands on the desk and guesses Eric really IS going to propose. Stephanie comes in and asks Jackie why she's in Eric's chair when she doesn't belong here. Hiding the receipt behind her back, Jackie says that Stephanie's statement might be true today, or even tomorrow, but who knows what the future holds. Stephanie asks what Jackie is hiding; Jackie says she doesn't want to know, but when Stephanie insists, Jackie claims to be a minister away from becoming Mrs. Eric Forrester. Laughing, Stephanie asks if Jackie if she's smoking the funny stuff again. Jackie says that Eric will finally have a wife who will do his name justice. "Yous lost it, Tootsie," Stephanie replies. "No, Tootsie, you've lost a loving, caring man to moi," Jackie replies. Stephanie says that as far as she knows, in the state of California, you can't marry someone while still married to someone else - and Eric is married to her, since she hasn't consented to ending the marriage. Actually, Jackie says, powerful men can work wonders with the right motivation, and a lawyer who holds his wife's power of attorney. And since Eric called her to talk about something important, and because she found this receipt, Jackie thinks Eric wants her to be Mrs. Eric Forrester. Stephanie calls her delusional AND slutty, so Jackie shows her the receipt for wedding bands bought by Eric. Stephanie is stunned.

Bridget tells her mother to go ahead and take Nick.
Brooke comes home and finds Bridget coming downstairs with a suitcase with the rest of her things. Brooke says she didn't realize Bridget was up there. Bridget retorts that she (Bridget) didn't realize a lot of things until last night. Brooke tells Bridget not to go and not to give up on Nick, but Bridget says it's too late, as she gave Nick back his rings and contacted a lawyer. Brooke tells Bridget not to give up, but Bridget doesn't see how she and Nick stood a chance when her husband and her mother are in love. Since Brooke is so sure Nick is her destiny, Bridget tells her mom to take him. Brooke says she can't be with Nick. She can once the annulment goes through, Bridget says, although Bridget doesn't plan to be at the wedding. Brooke reminds Bridget that she's carrying Nick's child. Bridget says she intends to protect that child from scandal, although she should know after seeing her mom's name in all the tabloids while growing up that it doesn't matter. It does matter, Brooke says, since she will always care about her daughter's feelings. She tells Bridget that there will be no scandal, since she [Brooke] can't be with Nick after hurting Bridget to much., Starting today, Brooke says, she will give Bridget the happiness she never could give in the past. She knows things were hard for Bridget and Rick because of her pining away for Ridge, so she wants to give Bridget a mother she can be proud of, and she wants Bridget's child to have the stability of having two loving parents that she could never gives Bridget. Bridget says that's not possible, but Brooke says it is; she thinks it's finally possible to heal the wounds in their family.

Eric and Brooke make a surprising announcement.
Confused about what her mother is saying, Bridget asks Brooke what she's done. Brooke says she wants Hope, RJ and Bridget's baby to all have the life Bridget was deprived of. Bridget doesn't think that can happen, but Brooke says it can. Bridget reminds Brooke that she [Bridget] already said it's over for her and Nick. Brooke insists that they can find their way back to each other, because she and Eric... She stops and tells Bridget that the baby will have a wonderful life, with loving parents and grandparents, which is why Brooke had to pull this family together. Bridget tells her to stop this sick talk, since she knows her mom wants to be with Nick. Nick can give her the family she's talking about, Bridget claims. Brooke says she's not free now; Bridget asks what she means. Eric comes in and says he can answer that. He says that he and Brooke had a long talk last night. He was heartbroken to hear what happened with Stephanie, but so was Brooke. That's why they made a vow to be there for Bridget the way they should have been years ago, so Bridget can be proud of them as parents and grandparents. This time, he says, they got it right. He lifts up Brooke's hand, and we see they are wearing matching wedding bands. Bridget asks what he's saying. He's saying, he says, that her parents are back together. They got married last night. It's a new start for the Forrester family, Brooke says, and for all of them. She asks, "Isn't it wonderful, sweetheart?" Bridget is just silent.
