Jackie admits her reservations about her son marrying Bridget.
|
On the Shady Marlin, Jackie says that she doesn't doubt Bridget's feelings for Nick. She thinks Bridget is lovely, sensitive, caring and... Brooke's daughter, Bridget finishes, something she knows better than anyone. Then she should understand her reservations, Jackie says. Bridget thinks she and Nick are partly to blame; she admits that they should have reached out to Jackie, to show her how in love they are. Instead, they just sprung this on her.
Jackie says she was taken aback. Bridget says that she wasn't looking to fall for a man who was involved with her mom. In fact, she and Nick resisted their feelings for just that reason. But as crazy as it sounds, they still fell in love. Jackie thinks that sounds wonderful, but she wonders if they've thought this through. Nick tells his mom to stop, but she ignores him. She says she has just one question for them and she'll leave them alone. She reminds Nick how Massimo says that things happen for a reason and suggests that there was a reason the wedding was postponed. Nick says that's not a question. Jackie just wants to know why they have to rush into a marriage. Hugging Bridget, Nick says that you shouldn't wait when you finally find someone to spend the rest of your life with. He reminds his mother that he's not a child anymore; he will have this wedding once Ridge is on his feet - that is, if Bridget will still have him - and he hopes his mother will be on board when that happens. Jackie says that she won't stand in his way. She walks over to Bridget; she says that Bridget obviously makes her son very happy, so she's very happy for them both. She gives Bridget a hug as Nick nods in approval.
After Jackie leaves, Nick tells Bridget to be positive about this; even though his mom had no business butting into their business, he thinks it's good that she sees how they feel about each other. It's just that his mom needs something to worry about that. Bridget says she can see that. Nick sees she's distracted and asks what's wrong; he thought she'd be happy that his mom is on board. She says that she's thrilled, but she can't stop thinking about Ridge and what they did last night. Nick says they should get out of there and leads her above deck. She asks where they're going. To find some sunshine, he says. She starts to say, "But..." but he says the only butt he wants to see is her cute one as he leads her out the door.

Nick and Bridget enjoy some fun in the sun.
|
Soon after, Nick and Bridget arrive at The Grove, an L.A. hot spot that's part mall, part park, part farmer's market and part entertainment complex. As Jack Wagner's "Die Tryin'" (from his new "Dancing in the Moonlight" CD) plays, they enjoy some fun in the sun. They walk around and ride a trolley car. He kisses her on a bridge, gives her a piggy back ride and squirts water from a fountain at her. They lie on the grass, where Nick pulls Bridget to him and kisses her. They sail a remote boat and toss around a plush Frisbee thing around, and then they kiss again.

Ridge tells Brooke that they're all overwhelmed by Taylor's return.
|
At Ridge's house, Brooke watches Ridge hug Taylor. She starts to leave, but Taylor calls out and says she's sorry. She didn't mean to go on that way. Brooke guesses it must be emotional to come home to this house after being away so long and... And then Logan keels over from shock, Ridge quips. Brooke says she was overwhelmed and didn't know what to think. Ridge thinks they all feel that way, but that's nothing compared to how the kids will feel. Taylor agrees and urges him to get them, as she can't wait. Ridge says he'll be right back with them and leaves.

Eric and Stephanie worry about Ridge.
|
At the Forrester mansion, Eric and Stephanie talk about Ridge. Stephanie tells him that the twins are watching a movie. Eric hopes the girls don't learn that their father dug up their mother's grave last night. Stephanie doesn't want them to find out either and says she's worried about Ridge. She hopes he can find closure around Taylor's death. Eric asks if that's what James Warwick said; she says it is. Although James is out of the country, he at least recommended a hospital that can get Ridge the help he needs. As if on cue, Ridge enters and asks where the kids are, as he needs to take them home. What he needs is to get back to the hospital, Stephanie says. She and Eric tell Ridge that they know what he did last night, which proves to them that he's NOT fine. Ridge says that he knows how this looks, but he really isn't crazy. He needs them to trust him and promises to explain later, but he can tell them now that something amazing has happened. Stephanie and Eric tell him that he needs help, especially since he thinks he saw Taylor. He starts to tell them that he wasn't imagining things, but before he can finish, Phoebe and Steffy come in. Ridge tells the girls to get their things so they can leave. The twins ask him what's going on.

Phoebe and Steffy wonder what their dad's surprise is.
|
Ridge tells the girls that something wonderful has happened. Phoebe asks if he's OK, because they've been worried about him. Steffy asks where he went when he left the hospital. Ridge apologizes for worrying them, but he thinks they'll understand when they know what's going on. And what IS going on? the twins ask. Ridge says it's a secret. They want to know what it is; he says that they probably wouldn't believe him, even if he told them. They'll just have to see for themselves. He asks where Thomas is. Phoebe tells him that Thomas is at Forrester; he sends them to get their stuff while he calls Megan to get word to Thomas to come home. Once the girls leave the room, Eric and Stephanie tell Ridge he's not making sense, so they won't let him take the girls. Eric wants to call Brooke to come get them, but Ridge says Brooke knows that he's here. He promises he's fine. Stephanie pleads for him to help her understand why he's acting this way. Ridge says that there isn't time, but he promises to prove to them that he's not crazy. Stephanie says that he's frightening her. Ridge asks if she believes in miracles; if she doesn't, he says, she soon will. He then calls for the girls and the three of them leave.

Taylor has a heart to heart talk with Brooke.
|
At Ridge's house, Taylor and Brooke go out on the terrace to talk over some iced tea. Brooke still can't believe what's happened. Taylor says she's thought about coming back home to her family for so long. The only thing she didn't imagine was... Finding out Ridge is married to her now, Brooke guesses. Taylor admits she was surprised, especially since her being in a coma made it seem like yesterday that she was last here. Brooke thinks it must be strange. Taylor says it is, especially seeing her children all grown up at the wedding. She's missed so much. Brooke tells Taylor that the kids never forgot her; they always prayed for God to look after her, and he obviously did. Taylor thanks Brooke for being there to help her kids move on with their lives. Brooke says that actually, the children helped her with her life. She finally found peace here with Ridge and the kids, and they really are a family now.
Taylor thanks Brooke for nurturing her children. She still feels like she missed a lot and asks Brooke to tell her all about her kids. Brooke starts with Thomas: he's still sensitive and caring and is probably the most like his mom of the three. He has lots of friends and is a whiz at Spanish - he has Ridge's gift for languages, Taylor notes - and he's interning at Forrester like Ridge did at Thomas's age. Taylor bets Eric and Ridge are proud of that and asks if Thomas asks about her. All the time, Brooke says. She explains that even though Taylor wasn't here all these years, her presence has always remained strong in the house. Taylor then asks about the twins. They're 14 going on 25, Brooke says, having matured at boarding school in Ojai. Taylor says she never would have sent her girls away; Brooke says the girls "tag teamed" her and Ridge until they wore them down and let them go. Just like then they were babies, Taylor says. Brooke adds that Steffy is athletic and outgoing; she's on the tennis team and always talks or text messages with her friends. She then says that she's become close with Phoebe, who is quieter; she often draws or writes in her journal, often about her mom. And there are times when she passes by the girls' room and hears them sing "You are My Sunshine." Taylor recalls how she always sang that to them.
The twins and Ridge come in. The girls call out for Thomas. Taylor is about to go in, but Brooke stops her and tells her that she's about to give her children the best possible gift she could ever give them: herself. Peeking through the curtains, Taylor gasps as she watches the twins ask Ridge about the surprise.
