Bridget tells Nick her worries about Taylor's return.
|
On the Shady Marlin, Nick tries to convince Bridget to take a moonlight swim with him to get her mind off her problems, but she can't stop thinking about Taylor's return. Nick agrees that coming back from the dead is a big deal. But Taylor wasn't dead, Bridget points out; she was alive and nobody knew. They know now, Nick says. Bridget reminds him that some people don't, like her dad and Stephanie. Stephanie thought of Taylor like a daughter, she recalls. Nick suggests that she call Stephanie if it's that important, but she doesn't want to interrupt Taylor's time with the kids. So instead, Nick quips, she'll pace a hole in his boat; he knows better ways to occupy their time. Bridget's tempted, but she still has her mind on her family. She asks if he's ready to “join this circus”. God, no, he says; but he still wants to marry her, so he'll save an extra seat at the wedding for Taylor. That reminds Bridget about Taylor's return; she frets that there are so many issues for her mom, Ridge and the kids, but there are no clear cut answers. All she knows for sure is that things are about to get very complicated.

Nick has an idea to get Bridget's mind off her troubles.
|
Bridget resumes her pacing; Nick can't take it and declares the boat a “worry free” zone. She wonders if she should go. Since she's still wearing her swimsuit and a robe, Nick asks if she needs her close. When she says no, he says that's good, because she won't need them for what he has in mind. He picks her up and kisses. She drops her robe to the ground. He carries her to the bed, where they make love. When they're done, they lay under the covers. Nick asks if he lost her again. She says she's there. Then he can go to sleep now, he teases. "Don't you dare," she says. He asks her to please get her mind off this whole situation. Bridget says that he doesn't know what a big deal this is. She recalls how things were between her mom and Taylor, with two accomplished, intelligent women competing over a guy. As happy as she is to have Taylor back, her mom is finally at peace, having built a life with Ridge. If anything destroyed that life, she fears her mom might not recover.

Phoebe and Steffy fill Taylor in about their lives.
|
At Ridge's house, Phoebe and Steffy show Taylor pictures of their friends. Taylor asks about their boarding school; she knows Brooke said they love it, but she wonders if she could ever stand them being so far away. The girls tell her that they could come home, since they're done with exams. Taylor doesn't want them to change their plans, but they want to be with her. She says she feels the same way and sits on the bed with them to catch up some more. She wants to know everything about them that they missed. Thomas likes girls, Phoebe teases. Thomas says they can save that for later. Taylor agrees, especially since she's getting tired from being up with their dad for the last 24 hours. She tells them to get washed up and get some rest. The twins are reluctant, so Taylor promises to stay with them until they fall asleep.

Thomas is glad to have his mother back.
|
When the girls go to wash up, Taylor asks Thomas what this is about him and girls. He laughs that he doesn't think they have “cooties” anymore. She bets that they're happy about that. She's glad to see he's grown up to be such a handsome young man. He asks if she's sad to see them all grown up. She says she's proud. Thomas says it wasn't easy; after she left, he kept going to church on Sundays like they used to, but he couldn't see the point of praying to a god who would take his mother away. He was angry, she guesses. He wondered what they did wrong. Taylor says she can't explain it, but that's what faith is about. You have to learn to trust that when bad things happen, it could benefit you or change you in some way. For instance, because of what happened to her, she thinks they see how precious every moment they spend together is. Thomas is amazed that she found something good in the worst thing that ever happened to their family. There is value in every situation, she says, and tragedies can make them see how precious life is. He says it's not that easy when it happens to you. That's when you need faith the most, she says. Thomas thinks he almost lost his. But he didn't, she says, and that's why his prayers were answered, even before she made it back home to them now. The fact they they're here, she explains, is the answer to HER prayers.
Thomas asks if she prayed to come home. She says she prayed for them to grow up to be healthy and intelligent. She notes how mature he is. He doesn't think he's that different, but she says he's more outgoing. She even heard that he won his school's dance contest. He says he missed her a lot. What he missed most is the way she would hold him and make him feel better when he was sad or worried, or when he had a nightmare. Now that she's back, even though he's not a kid anymore, he just wants her to hold him. She pulls him in and hugs him. When the twins return, Thomas offers to leave, but Taylor says he doesn't have to. Phoebe and Steffy tell him it's OK for him to stay, since their mom is, too. Taylor pulls them all into a great, big group hug and tells them how happy she is to be home. She says she'll never leave them again.

Brooke tries to talk to Ridge about Taylor's return.
|
In the master bedroom, Brooke tells Ridge that she knows how incredible Taylor's return is, for him and for the children. She reminds him however that she's his wife now and this is their home. As hard as it will be, she thinks Taylor will have to learn to accept that. Ridge is silent again; Brooke asks why he isn't saying anything. He tells "Logan" that everything's going to be OK. He knows that they've all been overwhelmed and that there are questions to answer, but right now, he wants to focus on the kids reconnecting with their mother. Brooke is sure Taylor is thrilled to be with her kids, but she thinks it must be strange for Taylor to be here, in the house she used to call home. Ridge thinks they should just focus on how amazing this is for the kids. She guesses it must be the same for him and asks him to tell her what he's feeling. He asks if she's sure she wants to talk about this; she says she does. Mostly, he says, it's overwhelming. He thinks about those first few hours when Taylor came back, where they stayed up all night. It could have been strange, but it was like nothing had changed. It was almost like they picked up where they left off. Brooke guesses Taylor felt the same way. The best part, he says, was seeing Taylor with the kids. He thought he could never compensate with the kids for the loss of Taylor's loss and her wisdom. But now, as impossible as it seemed, she's back and the kids will get to grow up with their mother!
Ridge wants to stop; he's worried that he's not making sense, and he's also tired. Brooke guesses that he, Taylor and the kids have a lot to catch up on. But they'll have plenty of time to do that, he says, since they're not going to lose Taylor again. Brooke agrees that Taylor will always be part of his life, which is why she wants to know what he's feeling. He's thinking about the kids, he says: he wonders if Thomas would have gotten involved with Amber with Taylor around, or if the girls would be in boarding school. He tells Brooke that she's been great with the kids, who adore her. But Taylor is their mother, Brooke says; she knows, since she has the same bond with her kids. And now the kids will get to have both Taylor and her in their lives, he says. He feels blessed and thanks God for the chance they've been given. Still, he knows there's a lot to figure out. Brooke agrees; still, she wants the kids to spend time reconnecting with their mother. If they do that, Ridge says, they can deal with the rest later. Brooke thinks the sooner, the better, and she doesn't want the kids getting stressed out over what might happen next. Ridge says that this could be incredible for the kids, and for all of them. They are a family, he says; they may not be a traditional one, but when have they ever been? He thinks this will be fantastic and could be the best thing to ever happen to them.
Ridge peeks into the twins' room and sees the kids and Taylor, fast asleep. He walks over and covers Thomas and then walks over to Taylor and the twins. He kisses Taylor on the cheek; she wakes and they stare at each other, smiling. Brooke comes to the door and slowly opens it; peeking in, she sees Ridge looking at Taylor and silently watches.
