Sally has an idea for Amber's replacment.
At Spectra, Darla helps Sally look through some files for a “glimmer of hope” for a replacement for Amber. Sally thanks Darla for the help but thinks Thorne should be doing this; Darla says she's staying out of this, especially since she agrees with what Thorne did. Sally laments that she took a big risk getting tough with Thorne's mother to protect Amber, only to be stung by her own business partner. Darla asks Sally how she's feel if Amber hurt Macy; Sally concedes the point, but she still needs a designer, and ones trained by Eric Forrester are few and far between. That's why she's looking through these old files, to find info on a former major player who's reportedly available again. She finally finds the folder she's looking for and shows it to Darla, who's stunned that Sally's talking about Morgan DeWitt!

Darla doesn't think Thorne will go for Sally's idea.
Sally points out that Morgan did some fine work for Forrester in the past. That was before she got hauled off to the loony bin for kidnapping Ridge's wife and daughter and nearly killing his mother, Darla points out. Desperate times call for desperate measures, Sally says, and Morgan has paid for her crimes. Darla thinks two years in an asylum wasn't enough given Morgan's crimes against Ridge and his family. Sally thinks Morgan's actions were understandable after Stephanie forced her to have an abortion. Darla finds it hard to believe Stephanie did that, even though it came out in the trial, but Sally is sure Queen Stephanie would do anything to protect her her golden boy, Ridge. She thinks Morgan never got over it. And neither will Thorne if Sally hires Morgan, Darla predicts.

Brooke tells Nick that Ridge hung up on her.
At Ridge's house, Brooke finally has Ridge on the phone. She says she wants to talk and not fight, so she asks where he is. A dazed Ridge can only say he's tired before Morgan comes in, grabs the phone and ends the call. When the line goes dead, Brooke assumes Ridge hung up on her! She tries to call back just as Nick walks in and tells her that she really should lock her front door. She laments that the call goes straight to voicemail. Seeing she's upset, Nick asks Brooke what's wrong. She tells him that she got Ridge on the phone, but he just said he was tired, hung up on her and then turned off his phone. She can't believe that Ridge wouldn't even talk to her. Nick notes that Ridge said he was tired from being away from her and the kids. But what if Stephanie is right and Ridge is tired of her? Brooke asks. Nick tells her not to think that; he's sure Ridge is just being a jerk and making her sweat this out rather than admit he was wrong, because that's what his male ego tells him to do. But maybe he's mad that she didn't believe him about the kiss with Bridget, she worries. He might think she let him down, and if he does, their marriage is in more trouble than she thought!

Hope can't wait for “Daddy Ridge” to see her in her recital.
Nick assures her that her marriage just hit some choppy waters, but Ridge still loves her and the kids. Just then, Hope comes into the room with Catherine; spotting Nick, Hope runs over to him. Nick sees her wearing a sailor suit and asks what it's for; Brooke explains that it's Hope's costume for her recital. Hope says she needs a lollipop; Nick asks what she means, so Catherine and Brooke explain that she thinks she needs one as a prop, since she's singing “The Good Ship Lollipop.” Hope can't wait for “Daddy Ridge” to see her, since he promised he'd be there. Nick and Brooke assure her that Daddy will be there for her like he promised.

Nick is sure Ridge won't let Hope down.
Catherine takes Hope upstairs. Nick thinks he should be going; Brooke tells him Hope will be fine as long as Ridge shows up like he promised. Nick suggests she go talk to Hope to make Hope feel better, but Brooke doesn't know how to tell Hope that Daddy ran off and isn't taking her calls. Nick is sure Ridge will be back; he knows Ridge won't let Hope down and miss the recital. Brooke worries that Ridge might have forgotten with everything going on, so she calls his cell. It goes to voicemail, so she leaves a message reminding him about the recital and pleading for him not to let Hope down. As she hangs up, Nick says that the message sounded more like a warning than a vote of confidence. It was a warning, Brooke says, because she won't let Ridge disappoint a little girl who adores him. Nick tells her to hold on; he knows this has been tough on her, but she has to let go. Brooke admits she may have overreacted before, but now Ridge is doing the same thing. Even if Ridge is mad at her, the kids sense something's wrong and she doesn't know what to tell them. She thinks it's cruel for Ridge to out the kids in that position and can't understand why he would do that. Seeing how torn she is, Nick hugs Brooke as she cries.

Morgan tries to convince her mother that she's not up to anything.
In Venice, Morgan scolds Ridge for answering the phone instead of resting. Ridge asks about what the woman on the phone said: she said something about a fight and asked why he didn't call. Morgan tells him to get back in bed and relax while she goes to get him some help. She returns to the other room, where mama Natalie asks Morgan what she's up to. Morgan says she just wanted to grab her phone before it woke her friend, who's not well and needs his rest. Natalie reminds Morgan that she's a neurologist, so she thinks Morgan's friend might be better off with the house doctor if he's ill. But he has all the signs of a concussion, Morgan says. After Morgan describes the symptoms, Natalie agrees that it sounds like a grade-two concussion and asks where it happened. When she hears it was in L.A., she wonders why Morgan would make him travel all the way here for treatment. Morgan says she wanted him to see the best neurologist in Europe, her mom, but Natalie thinks he could have gotten better care without traveling in L.A. She thinks Morgan's smart enough to realize that. But she wasn't smart enough to keep from wasting her time on the fashion business, Morgan says. Natalie admits that getting involved in that business, with those people, hurt her daughter, and she just wishes she had been there for Morgan.

A confused Ridge barely remembers anything.
Morgan says that the only one person who hurt her was Stephanie Forrester, who forced her to give up her baby. But she got through that without Natalie and she can do this on her own too if she has to. She'd prefer, however, to have her mom's help here. Natalie says she'll help her, so Morgan takes her in to see the patient. Morgan tells her friend that the doctor is here; as Ridge turns to face her, a horrified Natalie sees that it's Ridge! Natalie asks to talk to Morgan outside, but Morgan tells her mom that this isn't the time. Ridge hears Morgan call the doctor "Mother," so Morgan explains that her mother, Natalie, is a top neurologist who's going to help him. Natalie asks what happened; Ridge says he doesn't remember. Natalie then shines a light in his eyes and he says that hurts. She asks if he recalls hitting his head; he says no. All he can remember is being on the plane and coming here. Natalie asks him who the President of the United States is; when he has no idea, she asks where he is and who the woman in the room with them is. He tells her that they're in Venice and that the woman is Morgan, but all he knows about Morgan is that she brought him here. With that, Morgan tells him to lie down and takes Natalie in the other room.

Natalie comes down on Morgan for bringing a sick married man to Italy.
Natalie asks Morgan what she did to Ridge. Morgan says she didn't do anything. She ran into Ridge in a bar and tried to apologize to him, to make amends, but then he fell and hit his head. Natalie asks if Ridge forgave her; Morgan says he was too preoccupied over an argument he had with his wife Brooke which she doesn't know the details about. So she brought a married man with a concussion and amnesia to Italy? Natalie asks. Morgan says Ridge knows she cares about him; she reminds her mom of the life she and Ridge could have had if Stephanie hadn't ruined everything. Natalie warns Morgan not to try turning back time, since Ridge will eventually get his memory back. Morgan says she knows that and really wants Ridge to get well. But until that happens, even if it's just for a few hours, she has a second chance to spend the time with Ridge that she missed out on. All she wants is the chance to show Ridge the kind of person she really is, so she pleads with her mom to help her.
