Thomas tears into Amber for what she did to his dad and Bridget.
Amber stops by Insomnia and spots Thomas studying. She goes over to say hi, but he tells her to get away from him. She tells him that she didn't mean to put his dad or Bridget in danger, but he reminds her that she trapped them in a mineshaft where they almost died! She admits she shouldn't have done that, but she was desperate. Thomas sighs that he should have listened to his dad and everyone else who warned him that she was a bad apple. She says she's not a bad person and just made a bad choice, like everyone does sometime in their lives. Not like this, Tom says. Just then, Bridget walks in; she overhears Amber tell Thomas that his dad made a bad choice. Thomas says he doesn't want to hear it. That's the problem, Amber says: no one in his family wants to hear it, which is why she had to get that picture to protect them! Bridget comes over and tells Amber, “The only person we need protection from is you.”

Amber tearfully bids Thomas good-bye.
Amber knows Bridget might not believe this, but she only wanted to help. Bridget thinks Amber only wanted to help herself, no matter who got hurt. Amber disagrees, so Bridget points out how calculated Amber's plan was; she trapped them in that mine and watched them nearly freeze to death. Amber says she's sorry, but the end justified the means. Nothing justified destroying her mom's marriage, Bridget argues; she holds Amber responsible for that. Amber argues that Brooke will come out of this stronger, but Bridget disagrees. She thinks Amber finally went too farm and predicts that her whole family will be done with Amber as a result. She storms off. Amber then asks Thomas if Bridget was right; has she lost him, just like she usually loses the things she loves most? He thinks she tries too hard to get them. He recalls that his mom used to say that you always have to let go of something; if you're meant to have it, it'll come back to you. She says he's a lot like his mom, sweet and caring. Not anymore, he says; he really hoped he could help her change, but she needs more help than he can offer. He's through with her. Amber tries to stop him, but he says good-bye and leaves. Alone at the table, Amber sobs, "Good-bye."

Nick tries to reassure Brooke.
At Ridge's house, Nick joins Brooke for coffee as she waits for Ridge to come home. She wonders where Ridge could be and hopes he wasn't hurt by what she said. He thinks her words were understandable after she saw the photo, but Brooke still doesn't like how she left things. She apologizes for making him listen to this, but he reminds her that he volunteered. But he didn't have to stay all night, she says. He says he's here as long as she needs him. But Bridget's probably waiting for him, she guesses, pointing out how serious things are getting between them. She admits that surprises her, since he told her last time that he and Bridget agreed not to see each other. Nick says they changed their minds.

Brooke has reservations about Nick seeing Bridget.
Brooke says she still has some reservations; given how close she was to him, she wonders if he can love Bridget fully and completely. He reminds her that he doesn't do things halfway, and she knows that because she's the same way. Thats why she's committed to Ridge, who should be here right now begging her to take him back. She agrees that she can't imagine life without Ridge and thinks Nick was right that Ridge will be back after he's made them both suffer. Which is why he should leave before Ridge arrives, Nick says. She thanks him for being here. He tells her to be happy and she tells him to do the same.

Bridget's surprised when Nick takes her on a trip.
Nick heads for the Marone jet, where he arranges some flowers and has pilot stock the fridge and lay out extra napkins. The pilot says they're set and goes to prepare for take-off. Bridget arrives and asks why he called her over. Nick tells her that they're taking a little trip. She seems surprised; he asks if something's wrong. She says no; it's just that she ran into Amber at Insomnia and tore into her for what she did. He guesses she wishes she could toss Amber in jail; she admits she does, but she fears Amber will leak the photo of her and Ridge to the media if they press charges. She can't let that happen, for her mom's sake. In fact, she wonders if she should be leaving town while her mom and Ridge are still having problems. He tells her that he just talked with Brooke, and he thinks there's hope for that marriage. Bridget's glad to hear that, since her mom's heart always leads her back to Ridge. In that case, she thinks they can go. Nick points out how he's always the captain, so he suggests she choose their destination. She chooses San Francisco or Acapulco, but then thinks of reasons not to go to either place. She wonders if they should plan this better. Nick nixes that idea, since the idea is to be spontaneous. Bridget doesn't know if she can do that, but after Nick kisses her, she thinks she can get the hang of it.

Ridge has trouble remembering.
In her hotel room, Morgan asks a confused Ridge if he wants to call Brooke back. He asks who Brooke is. Morgan asks herself what's happening to Ridge. She tells him to rest. She then goes to her computer and looks up his symptoms on the "DrDiagnoseIt.com" web site and determines that he has a concussion. She then puts a cloth on his forehead and recalls a time where they danced closely at Cafe Russe. She comes back to reality as Ridge awakens and goes to remove the cloth; she suggests he leave that there, since he took a nasty fall off his bar stool at Cafe Russe. When he doesn't even recognize the name, Morgan goes to call the hotel doctor, but he tells her not to. But he might have a concussion, she says. He still doesn't want a doctor, so she relents. He thanks her for being so sweet. She seems surprised that he called her sweet; why wouldn't he? he asks. Ridge goes to splash some water on his face; while he's gone, Morgan goes back to the web site and sees that a concussion victim might exhibit personality or memory changes that, depending on the severity, could last indefinitely.

Morgan makes plans for her and Ridge.
When Ridge comes back, Morgan asks if he remembers anything. he says he doesn't. She reminds him how he came to the bar to cool off after an argument. He asks what it was about and wonders if he snapped at her. Morgan hesitates but then says he did. He says he can't remember what they argued about, so he hopes she forgives him. She says she could forgive him for anything. His cell phone rings; he thinks it's her's and asks if she's going to answer. She lets it go to voice mail.

At the other end of the line, Brooke leaves a message for Ridge asking where he is. She says they can't solve anything while he's away, so she hopes he'll come home and work things out soon.

Morgan sees Ridge's head still hurts and sends him to the bathroom for some pain reliever while she finishes packing. Packing? he asks. For their trip, she tells him. He asks where they're going; she says it's all taken care of and sends him to find the aspirin. She then looks at the phone and sees the message is from Brooke; she says, "Sorry, Brooke, Ridge is unavailable" as she turns off the phone. She thinks anyone who would throw Ridge out doesn't deserve him anyway. She then dials up international reservations, thinking to herself that this is finally her and Ridge's time to have the chance they missed out on.
