Jackie tries to mend fences with her son.
On the Shady Marlin, Nick plays his guitar and sings the song he wrote for Bridget. Jackie arrives as he finishes the single verse and applauds. She then asks the captain for permission to board; he says she can as long as she wipes her feet. Jackie agrees; as she boards, she notices how clean the boat looks. He asks if she'd believe he cleaned up for her. She says she wouldn't, since he didn't know she was coming. He says he knew she'd be here eventually. Because Deacon's out of her life, she guesses. He asks what brings her by; she says she misses him and wants to patch things up between them. He says he misses her, too. She says she knows it will take a while, because she's disappointed him. Everyone makes mistakes, he reminds her. But her's hurt the ones she loves, she points out. Nick tells her that she can't change the past. Or erase it, she adds. Just don't repeat it, Nick advises.

Nick tells his mom who the new woman in his life is.
Jackie assures him that she won't. She's glad to see him doing well and wonders if it has anything to do with the new woman in his life that he mentioned. Nick says he didn't mention a woman, but she assures him he did. She bets he cleaned up to impress this woman and asks who she is. Nick won't say, because he doesn't want to jinx things. She says it's not like him to be superstitious. He says he's a sailor, so he has more superstitions than she has shoes. Not about dating, she says. He just wants to be safe. Jackie wonders if that's because the woman is involved with someone else. Nick says that's not it; it's just that she's a bit younger. Jackie thinks she's the last person to judge based on age and asks when she can meet this girl. Actually, he says, she already has: it's Bridget! Jackie's surprised. Nick asks her what's wrong. She says that it's nothing. She thinks Bridget is just the kind of woman she'd want for her son, and she likes her a lot - but she's also Brooke's daughter.

A worried Amber returns to Spectra.
Amber returns to Spectra and finds an anxious Clarke and Sally waiting. Sally bets Amber's not proud of her plan to set Ridge and Bridget up. Amber asks how she was supposed to know Ridge would show Brooke the photo. Sally says she didn't know because she wasn't thinking, just like she didn't think about how her plan could hurt Spectra! Amber says she was just trying to make peace. Then she must have some funny tobacco in that peace pipe, Sally quips. Amber says she doesn't need this and turns to leave, but Clarke tells her to wait and asks what happened. Amber says that Ridge had already shown Brooke the photo when she was arrived, and Brooke went off on her! Sally's not surprised, but Amber says she hoped seeing the photo would make Brooke madder at Ridge than at her.

Clarke tries to calm Sally down.
But she was wrong, Sally says, which is unfortunate for Spectra. She thinks it's one thing for Amber to throw her own future away on her boyfriend, but it's another to do something that could take Spectra down, too. She can already see the tabloid headlines - "Spectra designer gives Forrester family the shaft!" - and predicts this fiasco will cost her the respectability she's waited forever for. Clarke tells Sally to calm down; they've survived bad press before. Sally agrees that they have a checkered past, but they've never been accused of attempted murder.

Sally comes up with a plan.
Amber says it was her idea, so Spectra should be clear of any blame. But no one will care, Sally says, since Amber's name is tied to Spectra now. Amber asks what she can do. Sally says she's done enough already; right now, they need to pray that Brooke is madder at Ridge than at Amber over the photo. Amber says that Ridge seemed pretty confident. Sally points out that pride goeth before a fall, so she's hoping Ridge is headed for a huge fall. The only things she can think of that will knock Amber's stunt out of the headlines is a nasty, Forrester divorce. Clarke says there has to be something they can do besides pray that Ridge's marriage implodes. Sally gets an idea and asks Amber for another copy of the photo. Whatever she has in mind, Clarke warns, forget it: that photo has caused enough trouble. But it will cause even more trouble, Sally predicts, if she shows it to Stephanie, the one person who would want to keep this thing quiet more than they do.

Ridge tries to convince Brooke that he didn't betray her.
At Ridge's house, Brooke asks Ridge how he could break his word and cross the line by kissing Bridget. Ridge gives his word that the kiss wasn't romantic. And he swore that to her before, Brooke points out, yet he still kissed Bridget in this photo. Ridge says he already explained, but Brooke doesn't want explanations. Then he'll offer an apology, Ridge says, since he barely even remembers that kiss. Bridget was dying. He was half frozen and exhausted from lack of food and sleep. He promises that she's the most important thing in his life, and he would never do anything to jeopardize that. Then why did he kiss Bridget this way? she asks, holding up the photo. After seeing this, she doesn't know if she can trust him ever again!

Bridget comes in and hears the commotion; she asks what's wrong and offers to help. Brooke reminds Bridget how she [Brooke] wanted to help when Bridget came back from Copenhagen, but she wasn't always there for Bridget. Bridget asks if this is about her; Ridge tells Brooke to keep this between the two of them. Brooke admits she hasn't always been the best mother and asks Bridget to be equally honest: she asks if there's anything Bridget wants to tell her about Big Bear. A confused Bridget asks what she means, so Brooke shows her the photo and asks what this is.

Bridget tries to get through to her mother.
Bridget looks at the photo and asks where it came from. Ridge tells her about Amber's plot to trap them in the mine. Bridget can't believe Amber would do this on purpose, just to force Ridge to accept her with Thomas. Bridget points out that Amber could have killed them and asks if anyone's called the police. When Brooke says no, Bridget says Amber won't get away with this. She hasn't. Ridge says. "And neither have you," Brooke tells Bridget. Bridget can't believe what her mom is accusing her of. She reminds Brooke that she and Ridge were trapped in that mine. Amber put them there, just to blackmail Ridge, and she nearly killed them to get that photo. And she got it, Brooke says, because she knew how Ridge and Bridget feel about each other. Bridget pleads with her mom to listen to reason: she's seeing just what Amber wants her to see in that photo. Brooke says she should have trusted her instincts: Amber begged her to see what was going on, but she believed and trusted both of them when they said nothing was going on. And nothing IS going on, Ridge insists!

Bridget tells her mom that Amber was furious that Ridge and she [Brooke] tried to keep her from Thomas. Even if Amber trapped them in that mine, Brooke says, she didn't force them to kiss! She thinks the kiss is sick and can't even stand being in the same room as the two of them! Ridge pleads with Brooke to stay and sort this out. Bridget insists that there was nothing romantic about that kiss. It was just a kiss shared by two desperate, scared people in a moment of crisis. Brooke says she knows the difference. Then why is she so upset? Bridget asks. She recalls how long her mom has wanted a life with Ridge, only to be disappointed time and again. Now, she finally has that life, and she begs Brooke not to throw it away over this. She knows Ridge loves Brooke, so she pleads for Brooke not to let Amber's bid for revenge destroy that!
