Caitlin hides her tears upon hearing Hector's news.
Hector drops by Forrester to see Caitlin. He asks his daughter if she has plans. When she says no, he asks if she wants to go to Don's for a chili dog. She says sure, although she guesses her mom isn't coming if they're going to Don's. Hector says Samantha isn't coming, as she wasn't feeling well and needed some peace and quiet. Caitlin thinks she has just the thing to cheer her mom up; she shows her dad a sketch of a wedding gown design she's been working on and asks what he thinks.

Hector says it's beautiful. Caitlin tells him that Eric's shown her how special wedding gowns are, representing the joy a woman feels on her special day, and she's even thinking about specializing in them to be part of that moment in a woman's life. She wants to show this dress to Sam tonight, before her mom finds something else. Hector stops her; Caty worries that Sam's already found a dress, but Hector says that's not it. Then what's wrong? Caty asks. He tells her that her mom and him have decided to hold off on getting married until they work some things out. Caitlin asks what kinds of things. Hector reminds her that he's been a bachelor a long time, so he's set in his ways. He thinks he and Sam just need some time to adjust, but he's sure things will work out. Nearly in tears, Caitlin reminds her dad how much he and her mom love each other. After all the time they waited, she hopes they won't just let it slip away. She breaks down and cries; Hector hugs her and tells her it will be OK.

Jackie worries that Nick is substituting Bridget for Brooke.
On the Shady Marlin, Jackie tells Nick that Bridget's a lovely girl, but he's still in love with Bridget's mother. Nick says that he WAS in love with Brooke, but he's moved on. Thanks to Bridget? Jackie asks. Nick says that's right, but Jackie doesn't believe him. She's sure that if Brooke was single, he'd want her back. But she's not single and never will be again, Nick says. Jackie reminds him that things happen, but he doesn't think anything will happen to Brooke and Ridge. But what if something did? she asks. He's not about to play a game of “what if.” He just wants Brooke to be happy. She asks what he wants for himself; he says he told her. So he's using Bridget as a substitute for Brooke, Jackie surmises. Nick asks why she can't believe that he has feelings for someone else. He sings Bridget's praises, and he's sure that Jackie will see her the same way once they spend time together. But will it be the same magical passion he felt for Brooke? Jackie asks. Nick can't believe that she's been back in his life for just an hour and a half, and already she's meddling. She asks him to listen to her. Not this time, he says: he just wants to let Brooke and Ridge have their marriage and move on with his own life with Bridget.

Stephanie is shocked by what Sally tells her.
Sally drops by the Forrester mansion to see Stephanie. She apologizes for stopping by so late, but they haven't really spoken since Christmas. She recalls what a special day that was, where they were all so close - and maybe some were closer than others, she guesses. Stephanie asks what she means; Sally thinks it will be easier to show her and hands her a copy of the mine shaft photo. A stunned Stephanie asks Sally where she got this; Sally explains how her “cracked designer” Amber and her reluctant accomplice, “Bucky, the Boy Blunder,” trapped Ridge and Bridget in the mine, where a hidden camera captured this warm Kodak moment. Stephanie can't believe that Amber and Clarke would do this. To make matters worse, Sally adds, Amber tried to blackmail Ridge with that photo, but he turned the tables and showed it to Brooke. Stephanie is even more shocked, as this could destroy Ridge's marriage. She thinks of the people who this will hurt: Ridge, Brooke, the children, Eric and even Sally herself.

Sally gives Stephanie a warning.
Sally asks how she'll be hurt. Stephanie points out what will happen to Spectra when their two top designers go to jail. But they won't, Sally says - and Stephanie will make sure of that. Stephanie can't believe Sally is asking her to ignore the crimes that Amber and Clarke committed against her family. She insists that those two answer for their crimes. Even if it causes an ugly scandal when Ridge and Brooke's problems flood the front pages of the tabloids? Sally asks. Stephanie says she wouldn't dare do that. Sally says she would: she warns Stephanie to lay off Clarke and Amber, or else she'll send this stomach turner of a photo to every cheap tabloid in the world! Stephanie is stunned that Sally is protecting the people who tried to kill her son and Bridget. Sally says she's protecting her company and her employees, including Stephanie's son, Thorne. She bets Stephanie has been so caught up in protecting Ridge that she hasn't even thought about how this will affect Thorne. But Stephanie can keep her company scandal free, Sally explains, as long as she does the same for Spectra.

Ridge and Bridget try to get through to Brooke.
At Ridge's house, Bridget keeps trying to convince Brooke that there is nothing passionate going on in that photo. She pleads with her mother not to overreact. Brooke wishes she could just pretend she never saw this photo, but she can't. She thinks she'll see that photo every time she sees Ridge and Bridget together. Ridge insists that this isn't a threat to their marriage. Bridget agrees, again pointing out that Ridge was saying goodbye when he kissed her. She recalls how Brooke's done a few things herself that she regretted later. Is that what this is about? Brooke asks. Is this photo Bridget and Ridge's way of punishing her for her involvements with Nick and Deacon? Ridge says that's nonsense, as he's made peace with her involvement with Nick. She asks Bridget if she's made peace about her affair with Deacon; Bridget says she has. She insists that she and Ridge are just friends. Brooke reminds Bridget that she felt differently when she came back from Copenhagen. But that was before she fell for Nick, Bridget explains. And that brings up another thing, Brooke says: she worries about Bridget being involved with another man she was once with.

Ridge tells Brooke not to talk like that. Brooke seems surprised, since he was opposed to Nick and Bridget being involved before. But Nick saved Bridget's life, he says, so it's only natural... Brooke thinks it's anything BUT natural, as it's a psychological pattern that requires therapy. Then all three of them should be in therapy, Bridget says. She and Ridge will do whatever it takes to convince Brooke. Brooke wishes it was that simple. Ridge says he knows she's upset, so he suggests she sleep on this so they can work on it in the morning. Brooke doesn't think she'll ever feel better about her husband kissing her daughter. Bridget reminds Brooke how she [Brooke] sometimes does things she shouldn't when she gets emotional. She wants to avoid that for the kids' sakes. Brooke can't believe Bridget is using the children to justify this. Bridget says she can do that because she's been there: she's been the confused daughter wondering why Mommy is mad at Ridge and doesn't want Brooke's other kids to go through that. Ridge says he needs to talk to Brooke alone right now, so Bridget leaves.

Nick comforts Bridget.
Soon after, Nick is on the Marlin, playing his guitar and singing the song he wrote for Bridget. Bridget arrives, nearly in tears, and asks him to hold her. Nick's confused, but he embraces her. Holding her close, he tells her that she can stay like this as long as she wants. After a while, Bridget thanks him, as this was just what she needed to block out what's going on in her head. She just can't keep seeing the look in her eyes and hopes they'll be OK. They, who? Nick asks. Bridget responds that she's talking about her mom and Ridge; she fears they're breaking up.

Brooke says she needs to be alone for a while.
Ridge reaches out to Brooke, but she pulls away to check on R.J. When she returns, Ridge tells her they'll be fine. Brooke laments that she just needed a little reassurance, and that look he reserves for her. Ridge says he thought they were past these insecurities. Brooke says she thought so, too - or at least, she convinced herself of that. Ridge reminds her that he was trapped in a mineshaft by a psychopath. But that's just an excuse for the bigger problem, Brooke says, that he thinks she's not good enough. When he was with Caroline, Taylor or even Bridget, he couldn't let go of those women for her. He says she's talking crazy now. That's because she doesn't know which way is up, she says, or what's real or not. Ridge insists that their love for each other is real, but Brooke doesn't think that's what she needs to hear right now. And what does she need? he asks. She says she doesn't know: all she knows is that she needs him to go. Ridge protests, but she says she can't be there with him now [note from Scott: even though this is HIS house, mind you]. Ridge asks her to listen, but she won't. He walks to the door, looks back to her in frustration and leaves, leaving Brooke behind, crying.
