Nick has an idea to find Ridge.
Bridget drops by Nick's office to bring him bagels for breakfast, but she finds him already eating donuts and french fries -- a sweet/sour thing of his, he says. Kind of like them, she asks? Yeah, he says, pointing out how sparkly she looks wearing the necklace he gave her; he hopes she didn't sleep with that on. She says she didn't really sleep at all. He says he didn't either; he was ready to come over and serenade her under her balcony, except he didn't want Ridge coming down on him for waking the kids. Actually, she says, Ridge still isn't home, and it has her mom worried. Nick points out that he used to take long trips as a sailor, so Ridge being missing for 24 hours is no big deal. But he didn't have kids, she says. She thinks it's unlike Ridge to be this out of touch; in fact, the last time he was MIA this way was when Amber trapped them in the mine shaft. Hearing Amber's name gives Nick an idea; he tells his assistant Andrea to get Ms. Moore here ASAP.

Nick gives Amber a warning.
While they wait, Nick asks Bridget why her family didn't prosecute Amber; she reminds him that a lot of people would get hurt in the scandal that would ensue. Just then, Andrea escorts Amber in (under duress, Amber claims). Nick gets right to the point and asks Amber where Ridge is. She tells him that he's barking up the wrong tree; in fact, after she lost her job, her boyfriend and her life thanks to Ridge, she hopes she never sees him again. Nick and Bridget aren't sure if they should believe her. She assures her that she isn't going to do anything that desperate again. She's sorry she did it and she knows now how wrong her plan was, and she never intended for the photo to end Ridge's marriage. But while she admits she was responsible for what happened at Big Bear, she wants them to believe that she's no monster. In fact, she's disgusted with herself and wishes she could do something to help. Bridget says she's done enough. If she sees Ridge, Amber offers... Then stay away, Nick says, from all of them. Amber turns to leave; Nick stops her at the door and whispers a warning: if she comes near any of the Forresters, she'll answer to him, and he's not as nice as Ridge. He then opens the door again and shoves her out.

Bridget suggests Nick find more exciting ways to score.
Nick asks Bridget if she buys Amber's story. Actually, Bridget says, she does, since Amber really seemed miserable. Nick points out that you reap what you sow; in that case, Bridget says, she must have done something really good to deserve him. She kisses him to thank him; for what, he asks, since he didn't find Ridge yet? She wants to thank him for trying. He says he can't stand to see her or her mom worried this way. She says that makes her feel better. He reminds her that he and Ridge, as half-brothers, share the same temperament, so he bets Ridge is blowing off steam right not by running away; after all, that's what he used to do. She asks what he does now. He responds by pointing to the pinball machine in his office and putting a ball into play. In that case, Bridget tells him as she sits on top of the pinball machine, he'll have to find more interesting ways to score. She puts her arms around him, pulls him close and kisses him as the lights and bells on the machine go off behind them.

Brooke worries that Ridge still hasn't called.
At Ridge's house, Brooke stares at the phone, like she could will it to ring with a call from Ridge. She worries that she still hasn't heard from him. Stephanie drops by and is surprised to learn that Ridge hasn't even called back. Stephanie recalls what the bartender at Cafe Russe told her and Eric last night; even though the bartender only served Ridge water, it seemed like Ridge had been drinking before he even got there. And then Ridge left, Brooke points out, wondering if he could have been mugged or in an accident. Stephanie wonders if he's just angry at Brooke for throwing him out of the house. Brooke points out that she left messages asking Ridge to come home; but maybe he needs more than just forgiveness and the chance to beg Brooke to take him back, Stephanie suggests. She thinks he might need a little faith. Brooke says she already asked him to come home, so what else can she do? Stephanie advises Brooke to stop feeling sorry for herself and to give Ridge a little space.

Stephanie tries to protect Ridge and Brooke's marriage.
Brooke says she's just worried about her husband, who seems to have vanished without a trace. Stephanie thinks Ridge has a right to be upset. Brooke wonders why Stephanie is blaming her for Ridge's not responding to her messages. She asks Stephanie what she's trying to do. As hard as it is for her to say this, Stephanie says, she's trying to protect Ridge's marriage, which is ironic given the years she spent trying to break him and Brooke up. Brooke can't believe Stephanie is blaming her now. Stephanie suggests kicking Ridge out of the house wasn't a wise move, especially when he felt Amber had turned his own family against him. She recalls all the troubles she and Eric had over the years: never once did she try to throw him out, for their children's sake. Brooke says she IS worried about her kids, but she doesn't know what else to do. She already called Ridge and told him to come home, so she doesn't understand why he's not here. Stephanie says she isn't sure: the only thing she knows is that Brooke can't overreact now. She reminds Brooke that she's the one who chose to throw Ridge out, so she'll have to come up with the solution and find a way to show Ridge she has faith in him. Stephanie leaves, leaving Brooke to keep telling herself that Nick's right: Ridge is just trying to make her sweat.

Morgan tries to reassure a confused Ridge in Venice.
In Venice, a bellman shows Morgan and Ridge to their hotel room. After the bellman leaves, Morgan finds Ridge on the balcony looking out on the city. She tells him what a pleasant, romantic place Venice is and suggests a gondola ride, but he's not in the mood. His head is still pounding and he wants to rest. She tells him everything will be fine once he sees the neurologist. Morgan takes him inside to the bedroom to lie down; as he lies down, Ridge wishes he knew what was wrong with him. She tells him he's just tired from the traveling and suggests he get some rest. She's sure they'll have time in a few days, once he's better, to enjoy Venice. She starts telling him about a restaurant she knows about, but he's already dozed off. She then makes a phone call and tells the person she just got in. She says she needs to see the person on the other end right away.

Meet Morgan's mom, Natalie.
Soon after, Morgan greets her mother, Natalie. Natalie says Morgan looks well and is sorry she's been too busy to spend more time with her. Morgan reminds her mom that she [Morgan] was locked up and asks mom how her career is. Natalie says she's now one of the leading neurologists in Europe, but then remembers she mentioned that in her letters. She's glad Morgan finally took her advice and came over here for a fresh start, away from the Forresters and Los Angeles. She's sure that being away from that place and those people will give her daughter the chance to start a new life, and she's proud of Morgan for getting better at the... she pauses and says “the clinic.” Morgan reminds her that it was an asylum. not some rehab facility. And she worked very hard on her recovery, Natalie points out. Morgan admits it was a struggle that goes back to when her life fell apart when she was 17. Natalie apologizes for not being there for her to help her deal with the pain - but she thinks Morgan has paid for her mistakes now and is ready to move on. She then spots a man's jacket and asks if Morgan has someone with her. Morgan hesitates; Natalie says it's find if she did, since she's sure her daughter didn't come here just to see her. Actually, Morgan says, she did: she recalls her mom's regrets about not being there for her and says this is Natalie's chance to help. Natalie wonders what's going on.
