Bridget tells Stephanie how she feels about Nick.
Bridget drops by the Forrester mansion, where Stephanie is on the phone with Thorne. Stephanie says she'll be over to babysit Alexandria once she drops Helen (her maid) at home and hangs up. Having overheard, Bridget asks what's up; Stephanie says she's watching Alexandria so Thorne and Darla can take a romantic drive up the coast. Bridget frets that she hasn't been by to see Alexandria; Stephanie invites her to come along, but Bridget says she's planning a surprise date with Nick. She thinks she owes him that after the romantic plane ride he took her on the other night. Bridget plays with the necklace Nick gave her. Stephanie sees that and wonders if things are getting serious. Bridget says they are. Stephanie reminds Bridget about the history Nick shared with Brooke and Felicia; Bridget says she knows that, which is why she came out and asked Nick, and he promised never to hurt her. Stephanie says it sounds like Bridget's falling in love - or has she already fallen for Nick? Bridget says that for once, she's going with the flow and letting Nick teach her to relax and trust again. She wants the same kind of passion her mom and Ridge share. Stephanie's glad to hear that, especially after what Bridget felt for Deacon and Ridge. She's glad to see Bridget happy. Bridget just wishes her mom and Ridge could be as happy; Stephanie tells her not to feel guilty about that. She's sure Ridge will cool off soon and come home to his family where he belongs.

Helen the maid gushes with praise for her daughter.
Bridget guesses Stephanie is right and hopes Ridge makes it to Hope's recital. Stephanie points out that Ridge has never let the children down before, so she can't see him doing that now. Just then, Helen comes in with a box in her hand and says she's ready whenever Stephanie is. Bridget asks Helen if her car is in the shop; Helen explains her daughter took the car up to Stanford, where she's thinking of applying to college. Bridget can't believe Gabriella is old enough for college. Helen can't believe it, either - and Stephanie even bought a laptop for Gabriella's birthday. She can't wait to see the look on her daughter's face. Stephanie thinks they should get going, so Bridget tells Helen to wish Gabriella "good luck" for her and tells Stephanie to kiss Alexandria for her. Helen and Stephanie say they will and get on their way.

Ridge gets hungry.
In Venice, Ridge looks confused as he and Morgan return to their hotel room. Morgan asks what's wrong; she thought he'd be relieved that the tests her mom ran showed no internal bleeding or permanent brain damage. He worries that he still can't remember a thing. She reminds him that her mother said post-concussion syndrome can last for weeks, even months, so he needs to relax. Ridge thanks her again for her help and says there's something he feels like doing that he hasn't in a while. Morgan asks what that is; he tells he's hungry and wants to go out to eat. Morgan thinks he should rest and suggests room service, so they look over the hotel room service menu and order.

Morgan thinks about how Brooke doesn't deserve Ridge, in her opinion.
While they eat, Morgan thinks to herself that Brooke doesn't deserve Ridge after putting him through the wringer. Ridge sees she's not eating and asks what's wrong. She says she's not hungry. Ridge guesses it is late for dinner. He also feels like there is someplace else he should be. Morgan says he's right where he needs to be, here with her. He complains that his head still hurts, so she offers to massage his temples. As she stands behind him and gently rubs his temples, he says that feels better. She says that just shows that she knows what he needs, and she'll give it to him if he just lets her.

Brooke worries when Ridge doesn't show up for the recital.
In L.A., Brooke leaves another message for Ridge about Hope's recital this morning at their house. She reminds him that Hope is counting on him, so she knows he'll be here. Catherine comes in with Hope, who frets that Daddy isn't here with her lollipop. He should be here soon, Brooke tells Hope. Just then, the teacher arrives with the other children in the recital and their parents. Brooke greets them, making excuses to cover for Ridge when she's asked where her husband is. As she tells the parents to help themselves, Brooke prays to herself that Ridge will get here soon.

Hope performs her song, thanks to Nick.
Before long, the recital's nearly over. The boy whose parents asked Brooke about her husband earlier finishes his song, “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star,” and then it's Hope's turn. Hope takes the stage, but she looks sad until the door opens. Brooke turns around, hoping it's Ridge, but it's Nick. Holding flowers behind his back in one hand and a lollipop in the other, Nick walks to the stage, asking Brooke to hold the flowers as he passes. He then hands Hope her lollipop. Hope smiles and starts her little dance as she sings, “The Good Ship Lollipop.” When she finishes, everyone applauds. Nick goes up to the stage, picks Hope up and tells her how good she is, giving her the flowers. Brooke asks herself how Ridge could do this to Hope. Soon after, the other parents and children are gone. Hope laments that Daddy didn't come; Brooke tries to assure her that Daddy wanted to be here but had to take care of something. She tells Hope to thank Nick for the flowers and then go with Catherine. Nick readily accepts the hug and praises Hope before sending her on her way.

Nick offers Brooke some comforting words.
Brooke tells Nick that she can't believe that Ridge didn't even call. Nick points out that he doesn't have too high an opinion of Ridge, but even he can't believe Ridge would be that stubborn to disappoint Hope, who looks up to Ridge like a father. Brooke doesn't know what to think, especially since she left Ridge so many messages for Ridge. Call him again and tell him how disappointed she and Hope are. Brooke dials Ridge's number and does just that. In the message, she tells Ridge to be mad at her all he wants, but not to take this out on the kids. She's trying to understand what's going on: she left him a million messages, and the one time she got through to him, he hung up. She doesn't think she deserves this and doesn't think the children do either, so she pleads with him to come home. On the other end of the phone, Morgan again manages to listen to the message without having Ridge's password. As the message ends, she puts down the phone and goes to the bedroom to check on Ridge. Meanwhile, Brooke tells Nick she did it. Now it's up to Ridge to call her back and come home. She wishes she understood this better, since this is so unlike Ridge. She can't understand why Ridge has turned his back on her. Nick points out that she's crying. She thanks Nick for being here, just like he said he would be. He gives her a hug to comfort her, just in time for Bridget to walk in the door and witness the embrace.

Stephanie lies in her car, unconscious and hurt.
Back in L.A., Stephanie drives Helen home. Helen thanks Stephanie again; Stephanie tells her to forget it, since Helen and Gabriella (who we've never seen before and who has never even been mentioned before today) are like family. Helen says that means a lot to her. Stephanie praises Helen for the wonderful job she's done raising Gabriella. Helen hopes her daughter gets into Stanford, even though she'll miss Gabriella if she does. Helen looks at a locket around her neck, that her daughter gave her for her birthday, and asks Stephanie if she has any parental advice. Stephanie doesn't think she has anything to say to the best mom in the world, but Helen insists that Stephanie is the best mom in the world. The two women laugh about that, and Stephanie guesses that the important thing is to spend as much time with your kids as you can. Just then, there is a flash of light from the road and the sound of a horn honking. Helen screams, and we then see the car has run off the road and is wrecked. Stephanie and Helen both lay in the front seat of the wrecked car, unconscious as blood covers their heads.
