Nick and Massimo admire Dante's work.
Nick arrives at the Marone mansion at Massimo's invitation and is surprised to find his mother there. Massimo puts down Dante's sketch of Taylor, which he's been studying, and explains to Nick that he's playing host this evening to a handsome young man; since Jacqueline revels in that sort of thing, he invited her, too. Jackie can't wait to meet him. Mass offers Nick a drink, but Nick declines, instead sniffing a cigar and looking at the sketch that Mass put down. Impressed with the quality and detail, Nick asks who drew this. Their guest, Mass replies; he's the youngest son of family in Italy that Mass knows, and they ran into each other at the Cafe Russes as this young man was finishing the sketch. He's quite talented, Nick and Jackie agree. And he's also a sculptor who's developing quite a following, Mass adds. And he knows Taylor? Nick asks. Actually, Mass says, this young man claims to have done this sketch based on news photos he saw. Before Nick can say anything more, Dante arrives. Mass greets him as Nick takes his cigar and the sketch out to the balcony and studies the drawing.

Jackie is quite taken with Dante.
Jackie is quite taken with Dante, who Mass says is a sculptor and a painter; she asks the artist if he's like to paint her. Dante looks to the portrait of Jackie on the mantle and says that her beauty has already been captured. Mass quips that he uses that to cover a crack in the wall. Besides, Dante says, he's leaving town soon. Nick comes in and introduces himself to Dante, complimenting the artist on the sketch of Taylor. Mass tells Dante that Dominic here is one of the sons he mentioned, a confirmed bachelor until the lovely Bridget stole his heart away. Bridget Forrester? Dante asks. Nick is surprised that Dante knows Bridget. Mass explains that he asked Dante to show Bridget around Rome while she was studying in Copenhagen. Really? Nick says. Dante tells Nick that he's a very lucky man. He considers Bridget a dear friend. Nick offers to say hello to Bridget for Dante, unless he's already done so. Unfortunately, Dante says, he's been too busy to look anyone up. What a shame, Nick quips. Mass tells Dante that he's like him to meet his other son, Ridge, and his charming wife, Taylor. Actually, Jackie interjects, things are complicated with Ridge, as he has two wives. Dante says that he's heard, although he thinks Ridge would be a fool to walk away from an angel like Taylor. Pouring himself a drink, Nick closely follows the conversation.

Taylor realizes that Ridge is thinking about how to tell Brooke.
Ridge and Taylor arrive at their Bel Air mansion. Ridge looks around as Taylor says that this finally feels like home. That's because she *IS* home, Ridge says, adding that THEY'RE home as he kisses her deeply. Ridge then pulls away; Taylor asks if he's thinking about Brooke. He picks up a photo of him, Brooke, Hope and RJ and guesses that Brooke will be devastated. Which is why they'll have to help Brooke as best as they can, Taylor says. She knows this has been difficult for him, but they just renewed their vows, and she wants to focus on their life together. Just then, Thomas comes down; seeing his parents together, he asks if they... Yes, Taylor tells him, his father and she just renewed their vows at the hospital. Thomas says that he heard about Grandma's heart attack and is sorry about that, but he's glad to hear that she's doing better - and that his parents are back together! He hugs them and thanks Ridge for doing the right thing to reunite their family; he just knew Ridge wouldn't let him down. Taylor says they love him; Thomas says he loves them, too, and hugs them again. Taylor smiles, but Ridge looks a bit worried.

Thomas gets the hint to make himself scarce.
Ridge says that it's been a long day. Thomas says that they can't go to bed yet. THEY'RE not, Ridge says, but he is. Thomas gets the hint: they want some action. Taylor is shocked that he'd say that. Ridge reminds her that Thomas is HER son. Thomas tells them that he loves them and leaves the room. Once he's gone, Taylor tells Ridge that their son was right that it's time for some action and kisses him passionately. They go out on the balcony, where Ridge stands behind Taylor and holds her. Turning to face him, she says that she spent so many nights thinking about this moment, and how it would feel to be together with him once again. She knew in her heart that it would happen, since she never stopped believing in them or wanting him. They kiss again. Taylor tells him not to stop; she's waited so long for this moment and can't wait another second.

Stephanie bursts Brooke's bubble.
At the hospital, Brooke demands that Stephanie tell her where Ridge and Taylor are. Stephanie however gushes about how beautiful and life affirming the flowers were; she doesn't think she's ever been more peaceful in her life. Brooke is confused; Stephanie breaks the news to Brooke that she missed them. Brooke again asks where they went. Stephanie says that her children may be grown up, but they still need their mother's guidance. Brooke's had it with this double talk and demands to know where her husband is. Stephanie bursts her bubble and tells her that Ridge ISN'T her husband: in fact, he and Taylor just renewed their vows right here. Darla brought the flowers, and they renewed their vows in this very room. She's never seen two people so much in love. Brooke can't believe it, but Stephanie says it's true: Ridge and Taylor renewed their vows, which makes Brooke the loser! Brooke starts to cry. Stephanie tells her not to turn those faucets on, because Ridge isn't going to be her knight in shining armor and rescue her this time. That's all history, she says, just like Brooke herself is!
An angry Brooke accuses Stephanie of faking a heart attack, just to get Ridge to do what she wanted. While Stephanie may have fooled everyone else, she sees the truth, which is why she's not going to let Stephanie get away with this! Stephanie says that it's too late, but Brooke accuses her of playing her own son. She wonders if Stephanie took any joy in tearing her grandson's family apart. Stephanie says that she'll raise RJ. Like hell she will! Brooke says. She knows Stephanie likes to call her self the protector of the family, but this has nothing to do with family or decency and everything to do with what Stephanie wanted. Stephanie says that she got what she wanted when her son chose Taylor: in doing so, he proved that he loves her [Stephanie] more than he loves Brooke!
So this is all about Stephanie's obsession with controlling her own son, Brooke realizes. As Stephanie reaches for the call button, Brooke says it's no wonder Stephanie sides with Taylor, who acts like an extension of Stephanie herself! She rips the call button from Stephanie's hand and throws it to the floor. She congratulates Stephanie on the performance of a lifetime, a fake heart attack designed to pull everyone's strings. She acts out what she thinks Ridge and Taylor says; they thought they were making their own decision, but little did they know that they were really just dancing to Stephanie's tune! She accuses Stephanie of lying just to keep her and Ridge apart. Stephanie tells Brooke to stop and insists that she's not faking. Of course she is, Brooke accuses: she thinks that Stephanie has donated so much money to this hospital that they'd do anything for her, even bringing in all this equipment just to help Stephanie's charade. And now she wants Stephanie to tell Ridge and everyone what she did tonight. She grabs Stephanie by the arm, but Stephanie keeps shouting, no!"

Brooke dares Stephanie to prove her wrong.
OK, then, Brooke says, there's one other way to prove it. She reaches for Stephanie's ventilator and pulls the air hose off. She shows it to Stephanie and says that if Stephanie does die, she'll visit her grave every day with flowers. For God's sake, Brooke says, go ahead and prove her wrong, and DIE! Brooke shouts.
