Thomas can't believe Gaby's startling news.

Gaby and Thomas return to the Forrester mansion. Gaby laughs that she's not sure if she's allowed to bring guys home. Thomas reminds her that he's not just a guy; he's the beloved, doted upon and spoiled grandson. Gaby looks on the table and sees an envelope from Larchmont College. Thinking it's news about her scholarship application, she opens it, but she's horrified once she reads what's inside. Thomas asks what's wrong; did they turn her down for the scholarship? No, Gaby says, it's worse: it says that she's "out of status," an illegal alien, so her application is being turned down. She doesn't understand: she's lived in the U.S. all her life and even has a social security number, so how can she be illegal? Thomas reads the letter, which says they will hold her spot until September, so she can straighten her citizenship out. Otherwise, she'll have to go back to her homeland and apply for a student visa. That could take years, Gaby frets! She doesn't know what to do. Thomas is sure this must be a mistake, and he knows just who to call for help.

Connor Davis is on the case.

A short phone call later, ace attorney Connor Davis arrives. He reads the letter and makes a few phone calls. Gaby asks Thomas if Connor can help. Thomas explains that Connor's a brilliant attorney who's done a lot for his family. [Note from Scott: the only members of Thomas's family that Connor helped are his cousin Jessica, former great aunt Maggie and step-mom Brooke, most of which happened before Thomas even was born! I guess family attorney Jonathan wasn't available.] He's sure Connor can help.

But when Connor hangs up the phone, he has bad news: the letter is correct. He guesses that Helen misunderstood the immigration laws and assumed that her daughter could stay here indefinitely while she worked in this country. But since Gaby was not born here, and no steps were taken to secure her citizenship, she is illegal and will have to return to her homeland. Once there, she can petition to return under a student visa, but that could take anywhere from 3 to 10 years! Gaby grows upset at this news. Thomas tells her they'll find an answer. The only answer, she cries, is for her to return to her homeland, where she doesn't even know anyone. How can she go back there and start her life over? As Gaby laments her plight, Thomas takes Connor aside and asks if there are any other options. There is one, Connor says, but it's not legal, and Thomas didn't hear it from him: Gaby can get a green card by marrying a U.S. citizen!

At Forrester, the showroom has been set up for a press conference, and reporters start to arrive, Backstage, Megan explains to a confused Taylor that Eric called this conference after Ava, the model who saw Taylor earlier, told others in the building what she saw. Ridge and Brooke come over. Taylor tells Ridge about the press conference. Eric wanted to stay ahead of the rumors, Megan explains. Taylor frets that she wanted to wait until her dad learned of her return. Ridge understands, but he thinks this was bound to happen, so maybe it's for the best. He takes Taylor to find something great to wear.

Eric and Stephanie watch the reporters arrive.

Backstage, Eric and Stephanie watch the reporters file in. Eric notes how quickly word got out. Stephanie thinks Ridge knew this would happen; that's why he brought Taylor here to make the announcement. And she's sure that Ridge is choosing Taylor? he asks. Of course, she replies. Brooke comes over and tells her not to bet on that. Stephanie asks Brooke if she hung around to be humiliated in public. Ridge would never do that, Brooke says. Ridge comes over and says that Taylor's almost ready. Eric offers to make the announcement, but Stephanie thinks Ridge should do it, as it's his and Taylor's miracle. Megan comes back to tell them the reporters are getting restless. Stephanie tells Ridge that he knows what to do and goes to get Taylor.

Mystery man Dante attends the press conference.

As Thorne, Darla and the last of the reporters arrive, Megan goes to shut the doors and finds a handsome man by the door, looking lost. She asks if he's here for the press conference. The man [his name is Dante, although they don't call him that in today's show] pauses and then says he is, so Megan ushers him in as she shuts the doors.

Ridge presents Taylor to the press.

Ridge takes the podium and banters with the reporters, asking who called a press conference. When the crowd laughs, he starts to say that there have been developments here at Forrester, but smarmy reporter Jarrett Maxwell only wants to know if the rumors are true about Ridge's wife - and he doesn't mean Brooke Logan. We see Brooke, Eric, Stephanie, Darla and Thorne all react to that comment. Jarrett then asks about the rumors of grave diggings and mysterious sightings. Ridge asks the reporters if they believe in miracles. Jarrett tells Ridge to quit playing games: they all know Taylor died, so how can he even suggest that she's back from the dead? Ridge tells the crowd to see for themselves, as he's proud to present to them Dr. Taylor Hayes Forrester. The crowd is stunned as they realize it's true. Dante in particular has his eye on Taylor.

Smarmy Jarrett leads the questions from the press for Taylor.

Backstage, Stephanie beams at how wonderful Ridge and Taylor look together: she thinks they can face anything. Eric tells her to leave it alone. Jarrett asks Taylor how she came back to life. Obviously, she says, she wasn't dead. She was just in a coma for a long time. Ridge says they'll issue a press release with the details, but Jarrett leads the reporters in pressing for answers now. Taylor explains that she wanted to keep it quiet until they could locate her father. Just then, she sees Dante in the crowd and freezes. Ridge asks if she's all right. She looks back to where Dante was, but he's gone. Taylor tells Ridge that she's fine. She repeats that she doesn't know where her dad is. A voice from the back of the room then says, "I'll tell you where Jack Hamilton is. He's right here, looking at the most beautiful girl in the world." Taylor looks to the back of the room and sees her father making his way to the stage. When Jack gets up there, she hugs him and says how much she's missed him.

Brooke is shaken by what's happening at the press conference.

As the crowd applauds, Ridge asks them to give his wife and her father some privacy. That comment bothers Brooke. As Jack and Taylor head backstage, Ridge says he knows what it's like to be reunited with someone that he lost. He then offers to take some questions. One reporter asks how he felt when he saw Taylor. He says he can't even describe it. Jarrett asks Ridge who he's married to, Taylor or Brooke. Ridge says it's complicated. Jarrett wants to ask Brooke about it; the other reporters agree. Eric comes out and takes over from Ridge; the reporters ask him for details, but Eric says they will have to wait for the official statement. Jarrett asks why, when they all know Brooke is backstage. Is he trying to hide the truth? Eric says he's not hiding anything. Brooke comes to the stage and tells Eric she'll talk to the press. Dante, who has moved to another part of the room, watches as Jarrett asks Brooke how she feels about Taylor's return. They're all grateful that Taylor is back and reunited with her children, Brooke says. But doesn't this invalidate her marriage? Jarrett asks. Eric comes back and takes over again, as Brooke leaves the stage. Jarrett presses Eric for answers, but Eric instead ends the press conference.

Eric follows Brooke backstage and offers her a comforting hug as he says he's sorry. Off to the side, Stephanie watches and gets an eyeful.

Stephanie then joins Taylor, Ridge and Jack. Jack explains that he was in Africa with Taylor's brother Zack, who had to stay behind when he was injured but sent his love. Stephanie asks Jack how he knew to come home. Massimo, Ridge guesses. Jack confirms that Ridge's father used his resources to locate him, and he'll forever owe Massimo his gratitude for flying him home to be part of this amazing time. Eric comes over and tells Ridge that the press beat up on Brooke, so Ridge goes to find Logan. She tells him the reporters laughed at them and their family, so she can't go on like this. She needs him to make a decision, now. Ridge tells her to relax; they'll have their day at the beach house soon to reconnect. Stephanie comes over and says that he can't be serious. Ridge tells his mother to calm down and explains his decision to spend a day with each of his "wives" at the beach house before he makes his decision. Stephanie says he can't do that, but Eric leads her away.
