Thomas shows Gaby his work.
Thomas stops by the Forrester guest house looking for Eric and finds Gaby humming and unpacking. He asks when she moved in here. She says she was fine in her mom's old room, but Stephanie thought she'd be more comfortable here. Thomas says she has a pretty voice; she thanks him and asks about the sketch pad in his hand. He says he's been sketching a lot when he can't sleep and he came up with some designs. Gaby says she used to draw when she was little, to let her mind wander. She asks how things are at home. He says that he's glad to have his mom back, but it's weird not knowing who will be living where. She asks to see his designs; he opens the pad to show her, and she thinks they're great. Thomas is glad she thinks so; he wants to show these to Eric so he might be able to start designing at Forrester this summer. Gaby thinks it's awesome that he has the same passion for designing that his dad and grandpa have. It's a lot to live up to, Thomas admits, but it feels right.

There's a knock at the door; Gaby answers it and finds Eric there. He says that he saw Thomas's car and hopes he's not interrupting. Thomas comes out and says that he's actually glad to see Eric, since he wanted to talk to him. He reminds Eric that he's graduating soon, and he's also worked as an intern at Forrester. And he did a wonderful job, Eric adds. Thomas thinks he learned a lot, which is why he wants to take it to the next step, as a designer. That's quite a step, Eric says. Thomas thinks he's ready for it, as he feels that he has the same passion for designing that his dad and grandpa. He's even done some sketches, and he'd like Eric to look at them. Eric agrees and sees a lot of promise there, but he also thinks that Thomas still has a lot to learn. Thomas says that he's willing to learn and to work hard, and he knows what kids like to wear. Eric reminds him that he hired Caitlin for that same reason, but that didn't work out like he hoped. But Caitlin didn't grow up around designers like he did, Thomas says. he's sure he has what it takes. Eric says that Thomas sounds just like Ridge, speeding up when he sees an obstacle to confront it head on. Thomas agrees that he goes after what he wants and asks Eric if that's a yes.

Eric has some advice for Thomas.
Eric thinks Thomas is as spontaneous as Ridge was at his age, a quality that still sets Ridge apart today. Thomas thinks that shows that he's willing to take risks. But he has to be careful, Eric says. Thomas says he will be. Eric says that these designs show a lot of promise, and he even sees a bit of himself in them. But with their competitors and their years of experience, he doesn't think that youthful inspiration is enough. That's why he doesn't think this summer is the time to be training Thomas as a designer, Thomas says he had fun drawing these, and he'd like Eric to mentor it. Eric doesn't want to disappoint Thomas, but he thinks the timing is all wrong for this with Spectra breathing down the necks. He tells Thomas to enjoy his summer and spend time with his mother; there will be plenty of time for him to work at Forrester after a few years of design school. Thomas reluctantly agrees, and Eric leaves. Gaby tells Thomas that it was just bad timing, and at least this way he can spend time with his mom. Thomas thinks his sisters will keep their mom busy, and so will his dad. As for him, he doesn't want to be a gopher at Forrester. He wants to design, and even if he doesn't know how yet, that's just what he'll do.

Ridge returns home from dropping off the kids at school. He tells Brooke that the twins were excited about Roxbury, but Hope cried when he dropped her off. Brooke frets that Hope hasn't done that in a while, so she suggests that the two of them go together to pick her up early. Ridge admires her concern for the kids; it's one of the things he loves about her. She says it was good to hear his kids tell her that they still love her. And she deserves that love, he says, since she was there for the kids. Now they can be there for her. And they have Taylor back, Brooke adds, so she couldn't be happier. Ridge senses something is wrong and asks what it is. Brooke hesitates to bring it up, but she tells him that Stephanie was here, telling her to accept the inevitable and step aside so he can be with Taylor. Ridge is furious, since this is none of his mom's business! Brooke reminds him that Stephanie was Taylor's best friend, but Ridge thinks that his mom should still remain neutral. Brooke doesn't see that happening, especially since Stephanie claims she'll never measure up to Taylor. She even said that the kids would be better off with Taylor!

Ridge tells Brooke that he's lucky to have her in his life, and so her kids. But she will never measure up to Taylor in Stephanie's eyes, she worries. Ridge says that he doesn't want her to be like Taylor, since he loves her just the way she is. Brooke admits she's made some mistakes, but now Stephanie is going to tell Taylor about them. Ridge says that his mother has gone too far. He's surprised his mom would be so negative about her to Taylor, since Stephanie always considers what Taylor thinks of her. But Stephanie bragged about her plan, Brooke explains, and Taylor's not here. Ridge still has trouble believing this given how supportive his mother was when he was missing. That was all an act, Brooke tells him; Stephanie even admitted she only accepted her to avoid being cut off from him and RJ. She wants her and Hope out of his life and his home. Ridge wonders how his mother could think he'd allow that. She then tells him how Stephanie suggested that she give RJ to him and Taylor to raise! That's the last straw for Ridge, who takes Brooke by the hand and leads her out. It's time he set his mother straight, he says.

Stephanie fills Taylor in.
At the Forrester mansion, Taylor sits down with Stephanie, who's glad to see her. She thinks they can work through the problems in Taylor's relationship with Ridge in no time. But what about Brooke? Taylor asks. Stephanie doesn't think Brooke will be a problem, and she thinks Taylor will agree once she hears what she's about to say about the woman who raised her kids. Taylor thinks there's a lot to consider, especially Ridge's feelings for RJ and Hope. Ridge is wonderful with them, Stephanie says. Still, Taylor wonders why Whip never spends time with his daughter. Because Whip isn't Hope's father, Stephanie says. So who is? Taylor wonders. It's Deacon, Stephanie says. Taylor can't believe it, since that means Brooke slept with her son-in-law. Yes, Stephanie admits, it's true. But Bridget is so supportive of Brooke, Taylor points out. That's because Bridget has forgiven her mother, Stephanie says, as has Ridge - and that's what worries her. That's why she had to tell Taylor this, so she would see that Brooke and Ridge's marriage isn't as perfect as Brooke claims.

Taylor still has a hard time accepting what Stephanie has said. It's true, Stephanie assures her it, and it's inexcusable behavior on Brooke's part. She's sure Taylor wouldn't want a woman who did something so wrong to be near her children. But Brooke seemed like a good role model to them, Taylor says. And there's more, Stephanie says. She tells Taylor that Ridge and Brooke went on their honeymoon to South America, where there as an accident. They thought Ride had died, and Brooke was so heartbroken that she turned to Nick - and slept the with him before Ridge was even "in the grave!" Taylor is again stunned. So Brooke didn't change? she asks. No, Stephanie says, she didn't. Instead, Brooke kept humiliating this family time and again. She hasn't changed a bit. She's still the tramp from the valley who sleeps with men and betray them. In fact, she talks about how her having RJ was "destiny", but when she was pregnant, she believed that Nick was the father of that baby. Taylor again shakes her head in disbelief. That, Stephanie says, is why she needs Taylor to step in. Her return in true destiny, Stephanie believes; she came back to save this family from Brooke's selfishness.

Ridge and Brooke arrive just in time to hear Stephanie's comments.
Ridge and Brooke come into the mansion just in time to hear Stephanie's last comments, about Taylor's destiny being to save the family from Brooke. Neither Stephanie nor Taylor has heard them come in, but when Ridge hears that, he calls out to his mother from the foyer that she's said enough! Stephanie and Taylor both see Ridge and Brooke in the foyer and walk toward them - but Stephanie holds back as Taylor does the talking! She tells Brooke that she thought she'd changed, that she'd been good for her children. But after what Stephanie just told her, she has to know: was she wrong? Is what Stephanie said true? Brooke is silent as Taylor stares at her, accusingly.
