Massimo sees a familiar face.
Massimo enters the Cafe Russe and sees a familiar face sitting at the bar, sketching. He walks over and looks at the sketch over the artist's shoulder and then calls out his name. Dante turns and looks a bit surprised; Massimo reminds Dante who he is, and the two exchange hugs and greet each other in Italian. Mass asks Dante what brings him to LA; Dante pauses for a moment and turns his sketch over before answering that he's here on business. He adds that seeing Mass here is an added pleasure. Mass asks Dante if he was going to look him up; Dante covers that he's been so busy. Mass says that he knows what Dante means, but he hopes Dante can at least take some time to meet his two sons. Dante says that he didn't know Massimo had a family of his own; he's happy for him. Mass says that he's thankful for his family every day, but he's most grateful for the return of his son Ridge's wife "from the dead." Mass guesses that Dante has heard about that on the news, but Dante says he's been too busy to catch any local news. Then why, Mass asks, turning Dante's sketch over, is he drawing a picture of Taylor?
Dante tries to duck Massimo's questions.
Dante covers that he was drawn, as an artist, to this woman's exquisite beauty. But this woman, Mass says, is his son's wife. Dante says that her face has been all over the newspapers for days, so it must have stuck in his mind. But he said that he didn't have time for the local news, Mass points out. In any case, Mass says, what's important is that this incredible sketch is almost perfect. He wants to catch up more with Dante, so he invites the artist to his home tonight. Dante makes an excuse, but Mass won't take no for an answer, so Dante agrees to come. Mass then asks Dante if he can take this sketch to give to his son. Dante says he doesn't mind. Mass thanks him; he's sure Ridge will love this, since it captures Taylor to perfection. He then turns to leave, but stops on his way out to look back at Dante.

Mark checks up on his patient.
In Stephanie's hospital room, a monitor alarm goes off, so Eric goes to get Mark. Ridge calls out to his mother, who slowly opens her eyes and softly says that she may not be able to hold on. Ridge urges her to fight, but she says she is too tired. He tells her to stay with him, as he and the other members of this family aren't going to let her give up. But it's not her family anymore, she says. Ridge tells her to save her strength. She asks him to forgive her. Outside, Thorne asks what's going on; Mark rushes in and checks Stephanie, noting that her blood pressure is dropping.
At Ridge's house, Brooke and Taylor anxiously wait for Ridge. Brooke looks out the window and prays that Ridge will make his own decision, no matter how much Stephanie tries to sway him. The phone rings; Taylor answers and it's Ridge. She asks where he is. He tells her that he's at University Hospital, since his mother had some sort of heart attack. He asks her to come over right now; she says she'll be right there. Brooke takes the phone and asks Ridge if he's sure it was a heart attack. He says they're sure. Brooke says they'll be right over, but Ridge stops her: he only wants Taylor there. He explains to Brooke that he and his mother were arguing about her when she collapsed, so it's not a good time for her to be there. He hangs up, leaving Brooke stunned. Ridge then asks Mark how his mother is. The doctor says that her condition is serious, so they've put her on a ventilator to help her breathe. Ridge tells her to keep fighting and lets her know that Taylor is coming. Stephanie opens her eyes.

Brooke tells Bridget that Stephanie is in the hospital.
Bridget arrives at Ridge's house. Brooke is glad to see her and tells her about Stephanie's heart attack. Bridget thinks they should go over there. Brooke tells her to wait, since Ridge asked her specifically not to come; she's sure that pleases Stephanie. Bridget asks why Ridge doesn't want her there. Brooke explains that Stephanie and Ridge were arguing about her at the beach house. Bridget is surprised, as she thought her mom was going to the beach house tomorrow, and she also can't understand why Stephanie was even there at all. Brooke explains that Stephanie, as always, was trying to ruin her [Brooke's] life with Ridge. Bridget sees that her mom is upset, but she reminds Brooke that Stephanie is in the hospital and needs their help. Brooke isn't as sure, since she wouldn't put anything past Stephanie, especially if it serves Stephanie's purposes. Bridget asks Brooke if she really thinks that Stephanie is faking it. Brooke says that she wouldn't put it past Stephanie, who has done a lot worse.

Ridge and Taylor tell Stephanie to fight.
In the hospital, Darla and Thorne wait by Stephanie's bedside. Thorne tells his mother to hang on while Ridge wonders where Mark is. On cue, Mark comes in. Ridge asks if there's any news, but before Mark can answer, Taylor enters. She hugs Ridge and asks Mark about Stephanie. Mark explains that the cardiac enzyme test showed that Stephanie had a mild cardio infraction that caused a heart attack. Taylor walks over to the bedside and asks Thorne and Darla how long Stephanie has been asleep. A little while, Thorne says. Taylor thinks the best thing Stephanie needs now is rest, but Stephanie hears her and opens her eyes. She says that the best thing for her is Taylor. Taylor asks how she is; Stephanie softly says that she doesn't think she can make it. Taylor sits next to her, takes her hand and tells her that she's going to make it, because she's a fighter, and she has so much to fight for. She has a family who loves her and can't be without her, and she has a friend who didn't fight her way back from the dead just to lose a loved one. She pleads with Stephanie not to give up.

Eric tells Stephanie not to talk like she's leaving them.
As Mark lowers Stephanie's lung volume on the ventilator, everyone gathers around the bed. Stephanie tells Eric that she loves him... she looks around and says she loves them all so much. Thorne and Ridge tell her that they love her, too. She tells her sons that she may have interfered in their lives, but she just wanted them to be happy, and she hopes they'll remember that when she's gone. Eric tells her not to talk like that. If she has to go, she says, she has her family together, and she has Ridge and Taylor together. She tells them to take care of each other and their children, and to remember that she'll always love them for all eternity. The chaplain comes in and tells Eric he heard that "Mrs. Forrester" was very ill, so he came to pray, but he sees her family is here and offers to come back. Eric asks him to stay and tells Stephanie that they are all going to say a prayer for her. They all join hands, and as the chaplain begins the prayer, both Ridge and Taylor are crying. Stephanie tells Ridge that she loves him; he says he loves her, too. Eric thanks the chaplain, who turns to leave, but Ridge stops the chaplain and says that he needs his help.

Bridget considers the news about Stephanie.
At Ridge's house, Brooke has a gut feeling that Stephanie is doing this just to make Ridge choose Taylor. But what if this heart attack is real? Bridget asks. That would make it worse, Brooke says, since Stephanie would be using her illness to selfishly play on Ridge's sympathies. Bridget thinks Ridge should see through that, but Brooke reminds her how difficult it's been for Ridge to choose between two families. She thinks the way Stephanie has manipulated the situation is quite clever; no one would notice unless they've been on the receiving end of Stephanie's manipulations, like she's been. She reminds Bridget how hard she and Ridge fought against all odds - and now that could be in jeopardy because of Stephanie. Brooke is convinced that Stephanie is behind this, but she doesn't know how to put an end to it before it's too late.

Stephanie is pleased by Ridge's actions.
At the hospital, Ridge explains to the chaplain that he needs his help to do something wonderful for his mother, something that could mean the difference between life and death for her. The chaplain nods his head. Ridge goes over to Taylor and tells her that it's going to be OK. He kisses her on the cheek and then turns to his mother and kisses her on the forehead. He then sits down next to Stephanie and takes her hand. He tells her that he and Taylor are there, just like she always wanted, and not just for the moment; they're going to be together for the rest of their lives. Stephanie smiles. Ridge then goes to Taylor and tells her that he loves her with all his heart; he doesn't want her to ever doubt that. He feels blessed that God brought her back to him and their children. He doesn't know how that happened, or even if God wants them to know. But he knows that he believed in what they had before she went away, and he still believes in that now. He then tells her the chaplain is there and is willing to renew their vows now, as long as she's willing to be his one and only wife. Taylor cries and tells him yes, she wants to be his wife, for today, tomorrow and forever. Stephanie smiles at them.
