Jackie explains her reservations to Eric.
Jackie stops by Forrester at Eric's invitation. He shows her some of his latest designs, but she suspects he wants to talk about more than just business. Eric says she's quite perceptive; he just wishes she wasn't so interfering as well. Jackie immediately guesses that he's heard about her reservations about the wedding from Bridget, and she thinks he misunderstands. She likes Bridget, and she doesn't want to see her hurt. That's why she thinks it's important for Bridget to see how Nick really feels, before they get married and have a family. But it's none of their concern, Eric insists. He reminds her that her son has committed to Bridget. Nick loves Bridget, Jackie concedes. But she thinks there are different kinds of love, and the kind Nick feels for Bridget can't compare to what he felt for Brooke. She can see that her son still feels deeply for Brooke. Eric says that they're friends, but Jackie thinks it's much more. She knows her son, and she's just trying to protect him and Bridget. Eric doesn't think Bridget needs that kind of protection. Jackie thinks she does, given Nick's history with Brooke. That's right, Eric says, it's history - as in the past. He points out that Brooke had the chance to marry Nick and didn't.

Eric warns Jackie not to interfere.
Jackie says that Brooke is clinging to the absurd idea that Ridge is her destiny. What's absurd, Eric says, is Jackie clinging to the idea that Brooke is Nick's destiny. He's sure Nick has moved on with Bridget. He only did that because he thought Brooke was lost to him, Jackie says, but with Taylor back in the picture... Eric says that Bridget is sure that Nick is over Brooke. Has any man who's loved Brooke really gotten over her? Jackie asks. Eric thinks it's a moot point, since Brooke would never steal the man her daughter loves. Jackie says that Brooke follows her heart and was this close to marrying Nick - and she would have married him if she wasn't afraid of giving her heart to a man who isn't Ridge. Eric can't believe Jackie is promoting this and orders her to stop! Her son loves his daughter, he reminds her, so she thinks they should show their support and celebrate their happiness together. He doesn't want to hear from Bridget again that she's interfering. Jackie starts to protest, but Eric cuts her off. He wishes that she, like Stephanie, would just learn to trust their children to live their own lives.

Brooke and Bridget can't believe Taylor's claims about Brooke.
At Ridge's house, Taylor tells Bridget that she admires the way she forgave Brooke. She thinks Bridget is an extraordinary young woman. Despite her mom? Bridget asks. Taylor says it's not her place to judge how Brooke's kids were raised. It is her place, however, to judge how her own kids are being brought up, and she's not comfortable with Brooke being being around them. She thinks the kids are at an impressionable age where they need healthy role models, and Brooke just isn't that. Brooke can't believe Taylor would even suggest she would hurt those kids, since she loves them like her own. And she always hurts the ones she loves, Taylor says. Bridget says that's not true. Taylor says she's glad Bridget and Brooke have worked things out, but she doesn't think any child should go through what Bridget did at all, so she's making sure her children don't have to. Brooke says she would never hurt those kids, even unintentionally. She's done everything for them that a good mother should. She tells Taylor to ask the kids. Taylor says that the twins think Brooke is "cool," but moms can't always be cool. They have to be role models sometimes, and she just doesn't think Brooke can be that. Brooke says there's no proof of that; in fact, she's been too protective of the kids at times. She thinks this isn't about the kids at all, and is all about Taylor joining with Stephanie to push her out of Ridge's life!

Stephanie asks for Nick's help.
At the Forrester mansion, Nick tells Stephanie that he doesn't want to fight her, but his relationships are his business, not her's or his mom's. She thinks it's her business since it affects her family. She sees how he and Brooke are good friends, perhaps TOO good. Nick thinks he should leave, but Stephanie stops him. She thinks he's always been Brooke's biggest supporter, which is why she thinks it's important that he's there for Brooke when Ridge chooses Taylor. Nick doesn't see that happening. Is that why he plead Brooke's case to Ridge? she asks. He says that he went to Ridge to help him think clearly, without outside interference. Stephanie however thinks she knows her son, which is why he's sure he will choose Taylor, and she wants to minimize the pain when that happens. Nick has a hard time accepting that Stephanie is looking out for Brooke. She thinks he'll understand, once he sees Ridge with Taylor, why Brooke has to leave. She's pleading with him to help her, so Brooke can walk away with dignity when she has to leave. Nick still doesn't Ridge leaving Brooke, because of RJ. Stephanie says that Ridge will still be a wonderful father. Nick still feels that it's wrong for her to drag him into this competition between two women. There is no competition, Stephanie says: she thinks he'd see that if he got to meet Taylor.

Taylor thinks Brooke has overstayed her welcome.
Back at Ridge's, Brooke tells Taylor that she's not really surprised at Taylor looking down on her again. She admits she made some mistakes, but she's been there for Taylor's kids, and she pleads for Taylor to see that. Taylor says that she sees what Brooke meant to her children. However, she's back now, and after what she learned about Brooke being with Deacon and Nick - from Stephanie's biased view, Brooke points out - she won't let her kids be hurt the way Brooke's have been. She even wonders if Bridget still feels some confusion about her mom from time to time. Brooke tells Taylor not to drag Bridget into this. Just then, Taylor gets a call from Stephanie, who wants her to come over and meet someone. Taylor says she'll be right over. After Taylor hangs up, Brooke asks what Stephanie wanted. Taylor gets back to their conversation and again says she's not trying to condemn anyone, but she would like Brooke to look at this from her side. Here she is, legally married to Ridge and forced to sleep in another room. She has tried to be patient with Brooke, but this is HER home and Ridge is HER husband; she thinks it's time Brooke accepted that so they can come to an understanding, because she thinks Brooke has overstayed her welcome.
After Taylor leaves, Brooke and Bridget talk about Taylor's sanctimonious attitude. Brooke says it's easy for Taylor to act so perfect, because she couldn't have made any mistakes while she was in a coma. Bridget tells her not to let Taylor get to this, but Brooke says she was hurt by Taylor questioning her parenting skills. She even thought Taylor saw how good she was to the kids, until Stephanie jumped in and stirred the pot like she always does = and like she's probably doing right now. Bridget is sure her mom will come through this like always. Brooke just hates fighting over this: she finally has the family she always dreamed of and thought she had earned Stephanie's respect, but now she sees that Stephanie will hate her and always will. Bridget thinks it's Stephanie's loss if she can't see the good in Brooke. She gives Brooke a hug; Brooke thanks her for being there for her. Bridget tells Brooke that she always will be there for her, as will Nick. They'll help her through this.

Nick has trouble accepting that Stephanie wants to help Brooke.
At the mansion, Nick tells Stephanie that everyone, including Bridget, talks about Taylor like she's a saint. He, however, has never been much for saints. Which explains his feelings for Brooke, Stephanie laughs. Speaking of Brooke, Nick says that he's still not buying Stephanie's claim that she wants to protect Brooke, since all she wants is Ridge with Taylor. Stephanie doesn't think he wants Hope and RJ to be hurt like Rick and Bridget were, just because Brooke's self-worth is tied up in being Mrs. Ridge Forrester. Just then, Taylor arrives. Stephanie introduces her to Nick. Taylor says that he's Ridge's brother. Sort of, he says. And he's Brooke's friend, Stephanie says, which is why she's asked for his help in letting Brooke down gracefully when Ridge picks Taylor. She looks to Nick and tells him that Taylor just wants to be back with her husband and family. Stephanie wants to minimize Brooke's heartache when that happens. She pleads with Nick to talk to Brooke, so Taylor can get on with her life.
