Gaby tells Thomas that she has to leave.
Thomas arrives at the Forrester guest house and sees Gaby's suitcase on the couch. Gaby comes and tells him that she can't stay here; she's an illegal alien, and she doesn't want to repay his grandmother's kindness in helping her by getting Stephanie in trouble. Thomas tells her to calm down and it will be OK. But it won't, Gaby says, lamenting that she had her whole life ahead of her yesterday, but now she has nothing. Thomas tells her that they'll work it out, but she doesn't see how she can if she has to go back to her homeland and apply for citizenship. Thomas tells her she's not going anywhere. Gaby says she doesn't have a choice. Thomas says she does: in fact, she can have the future her mom wanted for her and attend college if she'll just listen to him!

Thomas proposes to Gaby.
Gaby doesn't understand. Thomas tells her to wipe her tears and unpack, because she is going to realize her dream, her mother's dream - and his. His dream? she asks. Ever since they both got accepted at Larchmont, he explains, he's had this image in his head of the two of them in college together, and he intends to make that happen. Crying, Gaby says he's sweet, but she still doesn't see what he can do to make this work out. There is something, he says: Connor didn't want to mention it, he explains, since it's not exactly kosher, but he thinks it's their only option. She's so close to realizing her dream that he's not going to let it end. He then gets down on one knee. Gaby asks what he's doing; he's asking her to marry him and be his wife, he tells a shocked Gaby.

Steffy teases her Grandpa Jack.
At Ridge's Bel Air mansion, Taylor has breakfast with her dad and the twins. The twins tease "Grandpa Jack" about staying up all night with his daughter. Jack admits he did; he still can't believe that he has his beautiful daughter back, and he didn't want to let her out of his sight. They all sit down on the couch, and Phoebe hugs Taylor while Steffy hugs Jack. The girls admit they felt the same way when their mom returned. Taylor says she did, too, but now that some time is passing... Things are getting back to normal, Jacks says. Whatever normal is for this family, Phoebe laughs. Jack wants to keep hugging Taylor, but Steffy tell him that he'll have to let Taylor go, since she's meeting their dad at the beach house.

As the girls clean up, Jack talks with Taylor, who laments how much of the kids' lives she missed while she was in a coma. At least things are moving along. Like her going on a "date" with her own husband? an annoyed Jack asks. Taylor says that it will give her and Ridge a chance to reconnect. She reminds him that Ridge has two wives and families, and a difficult choice to make. Jack asks if her kids know about these dates. She says no. So she didn't want them to know that their mother was competing... He apologizes, as he doesn't want to tell her how to live her life, but it's obvious to him that Ridge still loves her as much as ever. That's why he thinks Brooke should just pack up and get out. Taylor reminds him that there is a son and a daughter involved that Ridge loves very much, which puts Ridge in a terrible dilemma. She needs to leave, so she hopes he's OK spending the day with girls. He says he is, but he still doesn't want to lose sight of her. She promises him that she's in good hands. Jack is just sorry she's going through this. She asks him to understand that she needs time with her husband and leaves.

The mysterious Dante shows up on Ridge's doorstep.
Soon after, the doorbell rings and Phoebe answers. Dante is there; he guesses she's Phoebe, but then asks if she's Steffy. She says she's Phoebe and asks if they've met. Dante says no and tells her that he's a friend of her mom's. Jack walks up and asks if he can help him.

Phoebe and Jack tell the stranger that Taylor is not home.
Dante says he's a friend of Taylor's, and he wanted to say a quick hello having heard that she's back in town. Phoebe tells him that Taylor's not there. Dante asks if she'll be back soon; not until tomorrow, Jack says. Phoebe says that her mom is with her dad. With her husband, Dante replies, where she belongs. Jack asks if he'd like to leave a message, but Dante declines and leaves.

Stephanie tries to set Ridge straight.
At the beach house, Ridge is on the phone with Eric, talking about his decision to spend a day with each of his wives. He thanks Eric for being so supportive and wishes others, like his mother, would do the same. There's a knock at the door; Ridge thinks it's Taylor arriving early and hangs up, but on cue, it's Stephanie, demanding to know what's the matter with Ridge! Ridge asks what's the matter with her. She says she had to talk him out of this ridiculous decision. Ridge reminds her that he hasn't made one - that's why he's here. Of course, in Stephanie's mind, there's only one choice, and that's Taylor, the love of his life and the mother of his children. Ridge reminds her that Brooke mothered his youngest son. Stephanie knows that he doesn't want to hurt Brooke or her kids, but she doesn't see the need to spend time with Brooke here. Ridge says he's not excluding Taylor, as he's spending a day with each woman. The problem, she says, is that he's including Brooke! Ridge says he's tired of her cheerleading for Taylor at Brooke's expense. He reminds her that he hasn't spent time with Taylor since her first night back. Then spend time with her, Stephanie says - and call Brooke and tell her that he's changed his mind!

Ridge tells her to get it through his head that he's spending time with both women. She tells him that this is isn't some reality show where he can make these women compete for him: neither woman deserves that. And while she admits that he loves both women, she doesn't think his love for Brooke can ever compare to what he shares with Taylor, his touchstone that brings out the best in him. Ridge says she's simplifying this, but she disagrees. She thinks Brooke was just a bandage for the pain he felt when Taylor died, so she can't understand why he can't see that the right thing is for him to choose Taylor. She understands that he's concerned about the children, but the family will be there to help him raise RJ, just like they were to help Eric with Rick and Bridget. His son will be fine, but she won't be if he doesn't just spend time with Taylor and leave it at that.

Taylor tries to make things easier for Ridge.
They're interrupted by a knock at the door; Taylor arrives and is surprised to see Stephanie. Ridge says his mom is just leaving. Stephanie tells him that she's said her piece. She hopes she got through to him and tells him and Taylor to have a wonderful time and remember that this is the first day of the rest of their lives. She leaves. Taylor quickly figures out why Stephanie was there. She was calling him a fool for inviting Brooke here, he says. Taylor sees the strain this is placing on him and offers to make it easier by kissing him. After the kiss, she asks if it helped; Ridge says it's too soon to tell. He pulls her close and kisses her again. He asks if she heard that. She says she didn't hear anything. It's just the two of them, Ridge tells his "Doc." Alone at last, she says. She thinks that shows how connected they are. He kisses her, but then gets up and goes to the window. She joins him and says that she knows he has a big decision ahead, but they need to stay in the now. He asks if that's her professional opinion. The doctor is out, she says, but the woman...

Ridge reconnects with Taylor.
Ridge tells her she's never been more beautiful. He feels like a heel for everything he's put her through since she fought to get back to him. She says she's not complaining. That's the kind of person she is, he says. He bets she is disappointed. Not in him, she says: he wouldn't be the man she loves if he didn't consider everyone's feelings. She wants him to choose her, but she will support whatever he decides, because that's what their love, and what being his wife is all about. She calls him, "My dearest husband." He replies, "My dearest wife" and pulls her into an embrace.

As Taylor sits with Ridge on the sofa, in his arms, Stephanie stands outside, peeking in through the window and watching.
