Gaby cheers Thomas up.
|
At Gaby's new home in the Forrester guest house, Thomas looks at his designs and wonders if Eric was right that they're not that good. He didn't say they weren't good, Gaby reminds him; he just said that he'd need a few years of design school before Thomas could work as a designer. Which means he's not taking him seriously, Thomas laments. Gaby disagrees; she thinks Eric does take him seriously, but she thinks Thomas just wants to be where the action is now. Thomas says he doesn't want any special favors. He respects his grandpa's opinion, but he thinks he knows what people their age like and wants to be able to do this. Isn't that why he hired Caitlin? Gaby asks. And his grandpa said that didn't work out like he hoped, Thomas recalls. Speaking of Caitlin, Gaby asks Thomas is he's heard from her. He says that he left messages, but she hasn't called back. Gaby apologizes for getting so caught up in his mom's return and kissing hi,. He says it's not her fault, Besides, Caitlin didn't even give him a chance to explain. And speaking of his mom, he says that the situation at home is still complicated; Brooke's been a great mother figure, he says, but now that his mom is back, he wants everything to go back to how it was.

Thorne and Darla tell Sally about Taylor.
|
At Spectra, Thorne and Darla tells Sally that Taylor is alive. Sally, of course, is stunned, but she quickly gets over it and guesses that this is just the chance that Queen Stephanie has waited for to get rid of Brooke forever. It's a complicated situation, Thorne and Darla point out, and nothing's been decided, so it's best that no one starts assuming anything. Like yours truly? Sally asks. Especially yours truly, Thorne tells her. He changes the subject to their latest sales figures, pointing out that they've lost some of their lead over Forrester and are now even with them. Sally blames that on his firing Amber. Thorne reminds her that Amber nearly killed his brother, so he's not taking her back. But they need someone, Sally says, preferably someone with a Forrester pedigree. Thorne says he'll work on it in time; right now, he's still caught up thinking about what Taylor's return means for his family. Darla guesses that the kids still love Brooke, even though their mom is back. Which makes it a confusing time, Thorne agrees. And speaking of the kids, he remembers that Thomas left a message for him, so he asks Sally if he can borrow her phone to call his nephew.

Sally has her eye on another Forrester.
|
Thomas is on Gaby's sofa when he gets a call on his cell phone. He smiles when he hears Thorne, Darla and Sally all chime in on Sally's speaker phone. Thorne says he's returning Thomas's call and asks if something's going on with Taylor. Thomas says it's about some designs he came up with; he felt good about them and showed them to Eric, who thought he needed more training. Thorne points out that his dad is a pretty good judge of these things, but Sally reminds him how Eric underestimated him. Clarke comes in and tells Thorne that he's needed in the cutting room; Darla and Thorne tell Thomas that they have to go, so they end the call and head down to the cutting room. Once they're gone, Clarke asks Sally what's going on. She tells him that young Thomas wants to be a designer, but grandpa Eric thinks he's too green. Of course he is, Clarke says, wondering if Thomas's work is any good. Sally, however, points out that Thomas IS a Forrester and salivates at the thought of having one more Forrester heir on their team. They'll have more Forresters than Forrester, she gushes, which means more money for them!
Back at the guest house, Thomas tells Gaby about the call from Thorne. He tells her about Sally's comment about his grandfather let Thorne slip away and thinks there may still be hope for him. Gaby says she would buy one of his dresses in an instant. The pink one, he guesses. She asks how he knew; he says he designed it with her in mind. He thanks her for the compliments, as they were just what he needed to cheer him him up.

Taylor wants to know if what Stephanie told her is true.
|
At the Forrester mansion, Taylor asks Brooke if what Stephanie just told her about Deacon and Nick is true. Ridge fumes that his mother would tell Taylor about things that weren't her place to talk about. Brooke admits she's ashamed of her mistakes. Then it's true? Taylor asks. Brooke says she doesn't expect Taylor to understand when she doesn't herself. It was just something she got caught up in. Stephanie laughs at Brooke using that feeble excuse again to cover how she got caught up in her own lust! Ridge tells his mother to stop, as she's not helping. Any explanation Brooke can offer won't change anything, Stephanie says. Brooke says she lives with these mistakes every day, but Bridget and Ridge both forgave her. They went through all the pain and... And they moved on? Taylor asks. Without pain or humiliation to the family? Brooke says she never claimed to be a saint. She's human and makes mistakes. Like sleeping with Nick? Stephanie asks.

Ridge and Brooke tell Taylor what Stephanie asked Brooke to do.
|
Taylor asks Brooke about that, but Ridge steps in and says that it's not what his mother makes it out to be. Is he going to say that Nick took advantage of Brooke? Stephanie asks. Nick DID, Ridge insists, and that was wrong. But Brooke didn't discourage Nick, Stephanie taunts, claiming that Brooke as always is ducking responsibility for what she did. Brooke admits she messed up and followed her heart, but she didn't set out to hurt anyone. And everyone sees that, Ridge points out, but his mother. Stephanie tells him not to make this her fault, but he says that it wasn't her place to tell Taylor, no matter what Brooke did. Stephanie thinks Taylor has a right to know who was raising her children, but Ridge thinks his mom has no objectivity where Brooke's concerned and never will! Stephanie says she is just concerned about the family and thinks Brooke is being melodramatic and making too much of this. Brooke reminds Stephanie that she admitted her lies. Stephanie says she's just thinking of the children. Including kicking Brooke out and cutting her off from the children, including RJ? Ridge asks. Taylor is shocked; Brooke explains how Stephanie told her to give her son up to Taylor to raise. Stephanie thinks that would give RJ a mother with principles, but Ridge has heard enough. He asks Brooke and Taylor to go home while he has a word with his mother.
When Brooke and Taylor return to Bel Air, Taylor heads upstairs, but Brooke wants to talk with her. She knows Stephanie is Taylor's best friend, but what Stephanie did was cruel, especially expecting her to give up her own son. Taylor says that she would never take Brooke's son from her. But Stephanie will still fight dirty, Brooke says, and she warns Taylor that Stephanie will involve her in that somehow. Taylor says she has no need to fight dirty, as she has faith that Ridge will make the right decision. She leaves the room.
Back at the Forrester mansion, Ridge tears into his mother for making a difficult situation even worse. She accuses Brooke of using him, but he points out how gracious Brooke has been since Taylor returned. He will not have his mother treating Brooke like some criminal and telling Taylor things when it's not her place. He reminds her that Brooke was a great mother to Thomas and the twins while Taylor was gone, so he wishes she could for once see the good Brooke is doing. She says she can't, because Brooke can never measure up to Taylor, no matter how many second chances she gets. She pleads with Ridge to see that she only wants what is best for him and the children. And how does asking Brooke to give her son to another woman to raise accomplish that? he asks. She says that Taylor is a wonderful mother and *his son* would be better off with her. Brooke is a wonderful mother too, Ridge insists. He tells her that this is a difficult decision - and in the end, it is HIS decision, not her's, so he warns her to butt out, or she'll regret it! He warns her one more time that she will regret it if she butts in and leaves.
