Brooke listens to Jackie's plan.
At Jackie's penthouse, Brooke tells Jackie that if she's right... Jackie says it's not "if." She's sure Stephanie faked her heart attack. Brooke can't believe that Mark Maclaine would... Jackie asks why not; after all, Mark is the darling of the medical staff and Stephanie's personal physician, so who would question him if he fixed a few reports and tests? She bets Stephanie offered to set him up for life if he "helped" her. Brooke asks her how she'll get Mark to admit that. Jackie says that Stephanie has her means of persuasion, but she has her own. Brooke warns her to draw the line on how far she'll go. Jackie tells her not to worry; she'll do *almost* anything to expose Stephanie, but she also wants her husband back. She asks Brooke to call her in a few hours, in case she needs a distraction to rescue her. Brooke agrees and gives Jackie the digital recorder she uses for work from her purse. She shows Jackie how to use it so she can catch Mark saying something that he can't "un-say." Jackie asks Brooke to wish her luck. Brooke says luck never worked before, but she hopes that Stephanie will be outmatched this time.

Stephanie tells Ridge to be happy with Taylor.
Stephanie walks into Ridge's office, but he's not there. She sits down by his desk and picks up a picture of him and Brooke. She puts the photo back and knocks it over with her cane; as the glass shatters, she sighs about how clumsy the janitors are. Ridge walks in with Ava, one of the models, talking about a design; when they see Stephanie, Ridge tells his mom that it's good to see her up and around. She says that her doctor recommended some gentle exercise to build her strength up. Ridge thinks the doctor meant kicking in the pool. He asks Ava if they can continue tomorrow, so she leaves. Stephanie guesses that Ridge is still angry with her. He tells her that she got what she wanted. So did he, she points out. She asks what happened when he went to Brooke's; he tells her to focus on recovering and forget about Brooke, who doesn't need them. She doubts Brooke feels that way. She really doesn't know Brooke, he says, even after all this time, so he'll tell her what happened. He told Brooke that he handled things poorly, that he let his mother play him like a violin, and that he loved her as much as ever. But he still went home to Taylor, she says. Yes, Ridge says, he did. Stephanie asks why he can't just be happy.

Nick and Dante trade barbs.
At the Marone mansion, a shirtless Dante returns from the pool and joins Massimo, who offers him cognac in Italian. Dante declines. Mass is glad to have him here, putting this huge, empty place to use. He asks Dante to stay, but Dante reminds Mass that he'll need studio space for the gallery deal he has lined up. There's plenty of space here, Mass says. Just then, Nick walks in and is surprised to see the shirtless sculptor dripping on the carpet. It's nice to see him, too, Dante defiantly tells Nick. Mass tells Nick that Dante is staying in L.A. Nick asks Dante if that's just talk, just like his line about not knowing Taylor. He was protecting her privacy, Mass points out, but Nick isn't buying it. Dante offers to leave, but Mass insists that he stay, since his son should know how guests are treated in this house. Nick gives Mass a file on some new tanker leases he kicked back, so Mass takes the file and goes to his study to review it. Dante pours himself a drink and offers Nick one. Nick quips about the life that sculptors must leave. Dante hands Nick a towel, since Nick was worried about the rug. Nick recalls that Dante was catching a flight when they last saw each other; Dante says he missed it. Nick then asks how lunch with his fiancee was. Dante says his lunch with Bridget was delightful. In fact, he says with a grin, that's why he decided to stay.

Thomas has a chat with his dad.
Ridge asks Stephanie if they can cut this short, as Thomas is due any minute. Stephanie thinks it's good for Ridge to focus on his family, so she leaves. She says she loves him and leaves. As Ridge picks up the broken photo frame from the floor, he hears Stephanie greet Thomas outside.
Thomas comes in and is amazed his Grandma's good mood; he guesses from his dad's face that he's not in as good a mood. Ridge says he's right and hands Thomas a copy of EYE ON FASHION with Thomas's picture and the caption "Spectra Snags Another Forrester." He asks Thomas when he planned to tell him about that. Thomas is silent, but he gets a break when his dad takes a call from Massimo. Once the call is done, Ridge asks Thomas why he didn't take Grandpa Eric's advice to go to design school first. Thomas says that Ridge has been his design school. He's not going to learn anything playing gopher here, and Spectra asked him to design a teen line. Ridge says that Thomas should have brought his contract to him first. Does that mean he's OK with this? Thomas asks. But Ridge isn't OK with his son working for a knock-off house like Spectra, since he'll have to unlearn all Sally's bad habits when he comes here. Thomas apologizes for not coming to him, but it didn't seem like the right time. The right time, Ridge says, is anytime. He knows he's been distracted lately, but he's always here for his kids. Ridge then asks if there's anything else Thomas wants to tell him, like about Gaby. Thomas says he's a big boy and can have a private life. Ridge says it's not that he objects to Gaby, who is certainly a step up from Amber. He just wants Thomas to take it slow this time. Thomas says there might be one detail his dad should know about.

Massimo presents Dante with an offer from Ridge and Taylor.
At the Marone manor, Massimo returns from the study and tells Dante that he talked to Ridge, and Ridge and Taylor insist that Dante use their beach house in Malibu. That sounds great, Dante says, but Nick asks if Dante wants to freeload off the Forresters. Mass agrees that it's perfect and invites Dante to stay for dinner. He asks Nick to join them, but Nick says that "some of us work." Mass hands him the file folder and gives him a disapproving look, and he leaves the room. Nick tells Dante that he's Forrester's problem now, as he thinks Dante will pick up with Ridge's wife where they left off. Dante is silent. Nick tells him to enjoy push-ups at the beach. Dante tells him to give Bridget his best. Speaking of which, Nick wonders why Bridget has never even mentioned him until now. Maybe Bridget didn't think he needed to know, Dante quips. Nick tells him not to get out of line. Dante says that Nick sounds like that sailor he watched as a kid and asks if he eats spinach, too. Nick tells Dante to get on off to Malibu and to stay away from Bridget. Dante then tells Nick to stay away from her mother. Nick asks what he said; Dante asks Nick whose fault it is if Bridget needs company. Massimo comes in and asks Nick again to stay for dinner. Nick says that he doesn't like the smell of the olive oil tonight and leaves.
Brooke enters Eric's office and finds Stephanie there. She asks if Stephanie is back to work, but Stephanie says she's waiting for Eric. Brooke leaves a file for Eric and asks Stephanie if Mark would prefer her being home in bed. Stephanie says she's feeling quite strong, but guesses Brooke doesn't feel the same and offers her a tissue. She sees the look on Brooke's face and guesses that the insults are coming; it's probably nothing she hasn't heard before, but she doesn't want to ruin Brooke's opportunity. She crosses her arms and smiles. Brooke warns Stephanie not to get herself agitated, but Stephanie says that her heart attack cured her of that and removed Brooke from her surgically. She advises Brooke not to hold anything back. Brooke turns to leave, but Stephanie stops her and asks about Ridge's visit earlier. She's sure Brooke was crushed when Ridge went home to Taylor and warns Brooke to be ready for that every time Ridge comes to see the children. That is, unless Brooke wants to give them up? Brooke is silent. Stephanie looks into her eyes and taunts that Brooke has a look that says, "I'm going to get you."

Jackie pours on the charm with Dr. Mark.
Jackie prepares a romantic candlelight dinner for two. She looks at a photo of Massimo and says she's doing tis for him. Mark arrives with wine; Jackie invites him in and hopes he likes Marcello's, the favored place for catering among their building's residents. She hands Mark a corkscrew so he can open the wine. He hopes it's as good as the guy in the wine shop said. Jackie invites him to set down and vent about the stressful week he's had. She guesses that Stephanie alone, kept him hopping..He admits that he's had easier weeks as he pours the wine. Jackie asks about his cologne; he says it's Jabot for Men [a reference to The Young and the Restless's cosmetics company]. Jackie purrs that it's so masculine, Mark asks what they should toast to. Jackie thinks they should toast to Stephanie, and to the man responsible for her health. They toast and glance at each other.

Mark doesn't know what to say about Jackie's offer.
Jackie doesn't want to sound old fashioned, but she thinks doctors are like Gods, holding people's lives in their hands. She thinks about the influence a rich patient might have. Mark says that he doesn't adjust his care level to a patient's bank balance. Of course not, Jackie says, since he seems so dedicated. All he's ever wanted is to be a doctor, he says. He asks Jackie why she invited him. She asks if his passions would include cardiology or research. He says they would. Then what would he say about her contributing a sum to the hospital for a new program for that, or even a new wing. Mark doesn't know what to say. She says she's been quite impressed by his skill. She wants to ask him one little indiscreet question, though: she thinks he seems so modest, not like the jaded people she knows, so she thinks she can trust him. Mark thinks her knows what her question is. Then he knows it's about Stephanie Forrester, she says. Mark seems shocked.
