Dante spends some time in the sun with Bridget.
At Bikini Beach, Bridget is surprised that Dante kissed her. She asks if he did that to prove a point. He asks if Nick is the kind of man who does things to make a point. She tells him not to change the subject. Dante reminds her that they kissed once before - twice if they count their "goodbye" kiss, which wasn't really a goodbye - and he wanted to see if she kissed like a married woman. But she isn't, she says - although she will be next time he sees her, provided he sticks around. He asks how he can leave now that he sees how badly she can be burned. She tells him that her relationship with Nick isn't up for a vote. Dante comments about how badly she sunburns and starts to rub suntan oil on her. As he rubs it, she admits the sun feels good. His hands feel good, he corrects her. She sarcastically says he should deal with his insecurities with women. He asks if she knows a good psychiatrist; they both do, she says. He doesn't think that's a good idea. She asks if he... He tells her to get her mind out of the gutter. Speaking of insecurities, he asks how things are with her and her mother. They've never been closer, she says. Even though she's fallen for another man who was involved with her mother? he asks. He suggests she try something different, like him,

Bridget says she might if he was serious. He's always serious, he says, lying down on his belly so she can put oil on his back. As she does, she explains that Nick has been a rock, for her and her mother. And she's OK with Brooke needing Nick's strength now? he asks. She thinks it's sweet for Nick to be there after her mom lost her family, although sometimes she wishes... She stops and says they shouldn't do this now. Dante says that this is another time where he offers himself, but there's an older millionaire in his way. She tells him to shut up and lie down. He does, reminding her that she owes him one for that time in Italy. She says that was his fault for daring her to take her top off; she lied there sunny side down for hours to avoid his wandering hands. But all he did was put sunscreen on, he says, while she didn't return the favor. OK, she relents, rubbing some oil on his back. Dante then tells her that he's changed his mind about leaving; Massimo invited him to stay at the Marone mansion, so he thinks he'll stick around for a while. He points out a spot that needs more oil, so Bridget laughs and rubs some more in.

Darla and Stephanie show off Stephanie's new "toys."
Taylor stops in Stephanie's hospital room and finds it empty. She sees from the schedule on the wall that Stephanie is in occupational therapy, so she sneaks a peek at Stephanie's chart. Before she can get a good look, Darla wheels Stephanie in. Darla and Stephanie laugh about all the "toys" Stephanie got in OT. Taylor says that Stephanie looks well. Thanks to her doctors, Stephanie says, and her family, patting Darla on the butt. Darla sees that Taylor has Stephanie's chart; since Taylor's an MD, she asks if Stephanie is really doing as well as she claims. Stephanie tells Taylor to go ahead and read it, asking Darla to watch for the nurse at the door. Taylor admits that she was expecting to see some lab reports. Maybe Mark has them, Darla says.

Taylor looks over the chart and says that Stephanie really is a lucky woman. Stephanie says she didn't need a chart to know that, but Darla says she did with the way Stephanie keeps insisting she's fine. She thanks Taylor. Stephanie says that it's good to have a doctor in the family again. Darla agrees, offering to take Stephanie's OT gadgets home for her. Once Darla's gone, Taylor tells Stephanie that she didn't mean to... Stephanie tells Taylor that she has no secrets from her. She guesses she wasn't very persuasive on the phone. Taylor hopes Stephanie understands why she needed to know. Stephanie says she understands that Nick, egged on by Brooke, is making accusations that she's turned the staff of this hospital into an acting company, all so she could fake a heart attack. And speaking of Brooke, there's something else she hasn't mentioned: that Brooke tried to "prove" she was faking by cutting off her oxygen. Taylor can't believe that Brooke would be that desperate. Stephanie thinks it's safe to say that Brooke WAS desperate. Taylor just hopes that Stephanie can understand why she'd be concerned to learn that Ridge committed to her for all the wrong reasons.

Mark briefs Taylor on Stephanie's condition.
Stephanie asks if Ridge has been shown any regrets. Taylor says he hasn't, but if he were to learn that he was trapped... Just then, Mark comes in and asks Stephanie when she'd like to go home. Mark sees the chart on the bed and then sees Taylor; Taylor apologizes for breaking the rules to look at Stephanie's chart and asks where the EKG is. Mark says it's in his office, since he's behind on his charts. He says that the myocardial damage was minimal and the angiogram looks great, so they didn't have to open any vessels. Taylor points out that they did an echo cardiogram this morning. Yes, Mark says, and they have Stephanie on BETA blockers and ACE inhibitors, so she should be fine. Satisfied, Taylor thanks Mark, who goes to prepare Stephanie's release papers. Stephanie than tells Taylor that there's a lot at stake here, as she knows better than anyone. She thinks Taylor has trouble coming, but it's not from her.

Taylor tells Stephanie how Brooke moved out of the house with Hope and RJ.
Stephanie then tells Taylor how Ridge was here earlier, tearing into her for interfering. She thinks they all knew someone would be hurt, but Ridge didn't want to face that. Taylor agrees and guesses Ridge came over after Brooke moved out with Hope and RJ, despite her suggestion that the kids stay on for a while to adjust. Stephanie bets Ridge is with Brooke right now. Taylor doesn't see anything wrong with that, since Ridge has not talked with Brooke since he made a decision. A decision he wanted to make, Stephanie says - but still, she warns Taylor not to underestimate Brooke's power over Ridge.

Brooke asks Ridge what he's trying to say.
Ridge is at Brooke's front door, saying that he doesn't know why it took so long to see his mistake. Which one? she asks. He says she has every right to be angry. He reminds her how she wouldn't talk to him the other night, so he asks her to hear him out now. They go back into the house, and Ridge says that she was right that it shouldn't have happened this way. What shouldn't have happened? Brooke asks. Her being here, he says, with talk about visitation, and about their marriage not being valid. He didn't want that, but he was faced with his mother dying from a heart attack that he feels like he caused! She asks what he means. He tells her how he came back to the beach house; she was gone, but his mom was there, bashing her as usual. He lost it, and then his mother had the heart attack. He was so afraid he'd lose her that he would do anything to save her. Including marrying Taylor, Brooke says. Ridge admits it was wrong to plan a day with each of them at the beach house, comparing them like appliances. The only one that served was him. He wants Brooke to know that he loves her and the family they built as much as ever; that is, if it matters. Of course it matters, Brooke says. She didn't want to walk out on him. Ridge says that seeing that almost killed him. He doesn't want it to end this way, so he wants to fix things. He can, Brooke says - by telling Taylor that he made a mistake.

Ridge doesn't see how moving Taylor, Thomas and the twins out will help things. He's in an impossible situation. Losing Taylor nearly destroyed him, but then he found Brooke and moved on. Now he has what he lost back, but he can't think of a decision that's fair to everybody. Brooke says that nothing about this is fair and asks Ridge why he came here today. He tells her that he didn't want their life to end. He sees now how his mother pulled his strings, which wasn't fair to her or Taylor. Brooke reminds him how their marriage vanished into thin air when he committed to Taylor; the same can happen to his marriage to Taylor, if he just tells Taylor that he made a mistake. She adds that if he needs to hear that she'd take him back, even after everything that happened, she'll tell him that. Ridge wonders why he can't be more like her, getting back up no matter how many times she gets knocked down. If that's his way of saying she'll be fine, Brooke says, she won't, and neither will the children. Ridge says that he knows that. Brooke tells him to cut to the chase: she wants him to tell her right now, straight out, if he's going to be with Taylor, or with her.
