Nick makes his feelings clear.
|
At the Forrester mansion, Eric and Stephanie talk with Nick and Bridget about the wedding. Bridget is glad that they're being informal knowing how Stephanie is about weddings. Speaking of how she is, Stephanie has a question: she recalls how Nick was frantically looking for Bridget this morning, and she wonders if this rushed wedding is all about his lingering feelings for Brooke. Nick can't believe she's asking that is ready to get married at City Hall. Stephanie tells him that he can't avoid her suspicions, especially considering how Brooke hurt Bridget in the past. Nick reminds her that he's not the type to pussyfoot around: he thinks they all know that he means what he says, so he wonders why everyone is questioning his feelings for Bridget. He looks to Eric, who says he believes Nick, but he doesn't want his daughter to be hurt, so he'd feel better if they didn't rush into this. Nick says that Bridget's starting to wonder if she can believe what he says, and he won't have that. He reminds Eric and Stephanie that they've broken each other's hearts in the past, and he's sure he and Bridget will do the same. But marriage is about sticking it out to mend that. As for Brooke, he thinks things would never have ended if they were really meant to be together. But they did end. Still, he's not going to kick Brooke out of his life, and he's had to be considerate of her and her kids after what's happened. But maybe it's time for him and Bridget to be inconsiderate today, to get married, so he suggests that Stephanie pop a heart pill and get out the hors d'oeuvres. Bridget says it sounds like he means it. Eric thinks it sounds like they're having a wedding here today.

Jackie tells Brooke about Mark's million dollar windfall.
|
At Penthouse 3, Jackie tells Brooke about how furious she was at Stephanie earlier. Brooke wonders if Stephanie suspects they're up to something. Jackie doesn't think so and then tells Brooke that a million dollars was transferred into Dr. Maclaine's bank account! Brooke bets it's hush money from Stephanie. Jackie agrees, even though Massimo told her the source was an unidentifiable Swiss account. Brooke wonders why Mass is involved, but Jackie tells her to focus on what this means: that Stephanie paid Mark off to help her fake a heart attack! Brooke wonders just how they did it. Jackie recalls, from when Nick was a child, that a child's blood pressure is 20-30 points below an adult's, so she bets Stephanie's monitors used the pediatric settings. Which meant that Stephanie could set them off just by making a fist, Brooke surmises. Just then, the phone rings. It's Stephanie. Jackie says she can't stand Stephanie's voice by her ear, so she's putting her on speaker. Brooke then overhears when Stephanie tells Jackie about the wedding. Jackie says she'll be there, but Stephanie tells her not to come! After all, she doesn't think Massimo would want Jackie reminding him of their failed marriage while his son and Bridget take their vows, and Jackie's not welcome in her home anyway. "Neither will you for much longer," Jackie says as she hangs up. She admits to Brooke that that wasn't smart, but Stephanie is hijacking her son's wedding to Brooke's daughter! She bets Stephanie will call Brooke next. Brooke tells her that she intends to be at that wedding. Jackie says she will be, too, once she prepares her gift: Stephanie's head on a platter!

Eric tries to be happy for Bridget.
|
Soon after, at the mansion, Bridget ends a call to Brooke. She tells Eric that she was sure her mom would have questions, but all she wanted to know was when she should be there. Eric thinks Brooke knows how to roll with the punches. Bridget asks him to be happy for her. He tells her that in his eyes, no man will ever be good enough for her. Still, he thinks Nick comes close. Bridget tells him that she's certain that Nick just *gets* her, so she's sure they have a happy future ahead of them.
Nick arrives at the penthouse and tells Jackie to get changed for a wedding, but then decides she's OK the way she is. He asks if she's wondering whose wedding it is. She tells him that she already knows from Stephanie, who called to tell her not to come. Nick tells her to forget about what Stephanie said, since he wants her there. She doesn't think he sees how bad things are between her and Stephanie. If she means the accusations about the "fake" heart attack, he tells her, he had the same suspicions. But they were both wrong, so it's time to suck it up and get over there. But what if they weren't wrong? she asks. Nick asks what she means. She asks him to just hold off for 12 hours; if he does, she'll have something that will make Brooke want to wash her hands of anything named Forrester, and then he can be with the woman he really loves. Nick says that he's marrying the woman he really loves, which is why he has to get out of here. He gives her money for a cab and tells her to be there is she wants, and he leaves.

Hector helps Darla get the room ready for a wedding.
|
Darla, Thorne, Hector and Caitlin arrive at the mansion to help with the wedding. Bridget offers to help out, but they tell her that this is her night. Nick tells her to listen and takes her aside. Thorne asks Eric if Stephanie is up to this; Eric thinks she's about 80%, and even if she wasn't, he probably couldn't tell her otherwise. Thorne asks where she is; Eric says she went to the guest house for something. Meanwhile, Nick and Bridget marvel at how quickly Stephanie pulled this together. This is really happening, Nick tells her. Bridget tells him to pinch her, but he says he'll do that later as he kisses her.

Mark shows Jackie how to drink tequila.
|
Mark arrives at Penthouse 3 with the Mexican food. Jackie's glad to see that he doesn't have his pager. Mark asks if she wants to confiscate his cell phone, too; Jackie takes that from his pocket. Glad that he's not on call, Mark asks if there's anything else. She leads him to the bar, where she had tequila waiting. Mark is touched. Jackie says he should be, although she can't remember how men drink the stuff, so Mark eagerly demonstrates the salt, tequila and lime technique for her. Jackie laughs and tries for herself, getting the order wrong, so Mark shows her again. Jackie feigns confusion again and asks Mark to show her one more time, but he has to pass until he gets some food in him. He tells her to practice while he's gone, kisses her on the cheek and heads for the kitchen.
At the guest house, Stephanie is getting a bowl from the china cabinet with her cane when Brooke arrives with a garment bag and offers to get it for her. Stephanie thanks her. While Brooke gets the bowl, she says that she thought Bridget would be getting dressed here. Stephanie says that they set the den up as a bride's room so Bridget wouldn't have to chase all over the house. Brooke turns to go there, but Stephanie says that won't be necessary - and neither will that gown that Brooke brought, since Eric had one sent from the showroom. Brooke says that Bridget asked her to bring a dress. Stephanie wonders why Brooke is even here since she slept with every man there but the minister and is about as welcome as a "whore at a monk's convention." Brooke refuses to get into this and turns to leave, but Stephanie accuses her of being the reason Nick is rushing into this wedding. Not that she needs to explain herself, Brooke says, but Nick was helping her. Stephanie tells her to go find some gas pumping cowboy and tell it to him - and to have some consideration for Bridget and stay away. Brooke refuses, since this IS her daughter. Not really, Stephanie says: she claims Bridget's HER'S now, since she's more of a mother to her than Brooke ever will. She thinks Bridget only pities Brooke, who asks how Taylor or Ridge will feel when they find out what Stephanie did. She predicts that Stephanie's big victory will be her biggest downfall.
Stephanie bets that Brooke has been scheming with Jackie and tells her to go ahead and dream. Brooke says she will; as she leaves, she tells Stephanie to watch her "miracle heart" before someone drives a stake through it. Once Brooke is gone, Stephanie goes for the phone and dials.
In her kitchen, Jackie runs the blender. Mark's cell phone rings, but he's in the other room and can't hear his phone over the noise. He calls out to Jackie that he can't find the silverware. As she tells Mark where to look. Jackie sees that Stephanie's calling and covers the phone with a towel. Mark asks what that racket is; she says she's making margaritas and waits for the phone to stop before taking a breath.

Stephanie takes off her bandage - and there's no scar!
|
Stephanie leaves Mark a message, warning him that "some people" might call asking inappropriate questions. When that happens, she wants him to remember that they both have a lot to lose. She then hangs up and pulls the bandage from her neck, where the ventilator was attached in the hospital - and rubs her bare skin! There's no scar or mark!
