Ridge and Taylor are stunned by what Agent Dunn tells them.
Ridge and Taylor are in his office at Forrester, kissing. Ridge mentions to her that Thomas won't be home for dinner, since he "disowned" their son for wanting to work in the gutter with Sally Spectra. Taylor laughs that they should give Thomas a blanket, but take his cell phone. They start to kiss again but are interrupted by the arrival of INS Agent Dunn, who wants to see their son - or actually, their daughter in law. Taylor says there must be a mistake, since their son isn't married. Dunn tells them that the Thomas Forrester he's looking for is going to Larchmont College in the fall and is employed by Spectra Couture. Taylor thinks this must be a case of identity theft, until Dunn shows them the marriage certificate from Beautiful Bells Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas - signed by their son when he married Gabriela Moreno. Dunn suspects that they married to get Gaby a green card. Ridge asks how that can be, since Gaby's mother worked for his family for years. Dunn says he's just enforcing the law and points out how serious immigration marriage fraud is. Taylor thinks fraud is a harsh word. If the shoe fits, Dunn replies.

Gaby has reason to celebrate.
Thomas stops by the Forrester guest house to see his "wife," who has dinner for two ready. Thomas asks her what's with all the food; she tells him that it's to celebrate her being reinstated at Larchmont College. Thomas is happy for her, but he's not happy about what he wants to tell her: he thinks he steered her wrong all along. He admits that he didn't think things through, especially since the visit from that INS guy. Gaby agrees that she was scared, too. Thomas says that he almost told his dad earlier, but then his mom showed up, and he realized that it would be wrong to say anything without talking to Gaby first. That's why he hopes she'll agree that he can tell his parents.
Thomas is glad that Gaby agrees with him.
Gaby agrees that he should tell his parents, since she's tired of lying, or of turning red whenever someone even mentions marriage. She'd rather they think she's a tramp and know she's not than to have them think she's sweet and innocent and know she's a liar. Thomas tells her that he'd forgotten how amazing she is. Gaby says that she might make a lousy wife, but she'll make a pretty good girlfriend. Thomas responds that that's what he needs: he wants his girlfriend back [although when was she his "girlfriend" to begin with? He had just broken up with Caitlin when this immigration mess started.]. They start to kiss and make their way to the bedroom, He asks if she's sure; he didn't want to touch her, for fear that she'd feel obligated to act like a wife after they were married. She says she was afraid to go near him, since she feared he'd see it as gratitude. They see they want each other and undress, falling on the bed - just as Ridge and Taylor burst in, and Ridge orders his son to get off of Gaby!

Stephanie continues to gloat.
In Eric's office, Stephanie continues to gloat about how miserable Brooke is now that Ridge chose Taylor. Brooke says she's only worried now about Stephanie's health. Stephanie says her heart was hurt, not her IQ; she knows how Brooke feels about her since Brooke told her to "DIE" in the hospital. Brooke says she wouldn't say that now to a sick woman with a cane. But that didn't stop Brooke from trying to kill her in the hospital, Stephanie points out. Speaking of that, Brooke asks Stephanie why she never had her arrested for that. Stephanie says that the law never protected her from Brooke before, so she once again had to take care of things herself. It took years, she taunts, but this family is finally free of Brooke. Brooke tells her to gloat while she can. Stephanie thinks that sounds like a threat and asks what Brooke's plan is. She only plans to raise her children, Brooke says. Doesn't she mean she plans to *USE* those kids to get Ridge? Stephanie asks. Brooke says that's Stephanie's specialty, not her's. Stephanie says that Ridge isn't about to leave Taylor, since they have a real marriage, not a perpetual state of emergency. Megan enters and tells Stephanie that Eric is ready to go home if she is. Stephanie says that there's nothing to keep her there and leaves. Brooke sees that Stephanie left her cane behind.

Jackie turns on the charm.
At Jackie's penthouse, Mark starts to feel uncomfortable about Jackie's comment about Stephanie and thinks he should leave. Jackie stops him and apologizes if she confused him; in fact, she's confused herself given how things are with her husband. Mark admits he wanted to punch Massimo for how he treated her. But then he realized that he puts Marone gas in his car, works in a hospital with a Marone wing and his bank is even owned by Marone Industries. He sees that guys like him don't punch guys like Massimo or have intimate dinners with their wives. Now he sees how alone she is, Jackie says, so she asks him to stay, Mark tells her that he can say that Stephanie is on her way to a full recovery. That would be good news for Stephanie's friends, Jackie says, after Stephanie's brush with death. But it's not good news for her. She even once wanted to be friends with Stephanie, because Stephanie is so close to Massimo. But then Stephanie found out her weaknesses and cruelly used them against her. And now, she tells Mark, she fears Stephanie might turn him against her, or Stephanie might do the same to him. She doesn't want that to happen.
As Mark digs into his tasty lamb dinner, Jackie checks the recorder under her napkin. Mark tells her that while he can't share confidential details about Stephanie with him, the same isn't true for her. He wants to know about her relationship with Stephanie. Before Jackie can answer, the phone rings. It's Brooke, asking how things are going. Jackie pretends Brooke is the caterer and fakes small talk about the lamb. Brooke guesses that Mark is still there and tells Jackie that she just saw Stephanie, who was hobbling around the office with her cane - but then went home and left the cane behind! She's sure that's a sign that Stephanie was faking her heart attack. She tells Jackie how Stephanie was taunting her, and she almost broke down. Jackie comments that the "meat" could be a little more tender. Brooke takes that to mean that Mark isn't cooperating. Jackie says she'll just have to be more forceful. Brooke tells Jackie to call if she needs her and hangs up, and Jackie returns to Mark.

Brooke is amazed by what Stephanie gets away with.
Stephanie comes back to get her cane. Brooke says she would have dropped it by the house, but Stephanie tells her not to even come near the mansion. In fact, if she drops a kidney on the way out, she wants Brooke to mail it to her! Suit yourself, Brooke says. Stephanie bets Brooke is holding back her tears, to cheat Stephanie of her moment. But she wants Brooke to remember that she said she'd do whatever shed had to. And she did, Brooke replies, amazed at what Stephanie gets away with without anybody seeing. Stephanie reminds Brooke that they say that what doesn't kill you, strengthens you. Brooke retorts with her own saying: what doesn't kill you makes it easier to take you down next time.

Mark tells Jackie that even Stephanie isn't perfect.
Jackie offers more wine to Mark, who asks how Stephanie turned on her. He'd have thought someone with her influence could stand up to Stephanie. She says she thought the same thing until Stephanie destroyed her marriage. She admits she made it easy for Stephanie, since Massimo can be remote, and she has a woman's needs. And they weren't being met? Mark asks. He finds that hard to believe, but she tells him not to underestimate the way Stephanie Forrester can influence people, like her husband. She tells him that Stephanie's influence made her feel weak, and she got involved with a younger man. But Stephanie acts like such a paragon of integrity and took her to task for that, Jackie explains, no matter who got hurt. But Stephanie isn't so perfect, Mark says; he thinks everyone makes mistakes, including Stephanie... and him. It was a month ago, he states. Jackie tells him not to feel guilty about a lapse of judgement, especially with all the good he's responsible for. When a family gathers around a patient's bed, he says, he's responsible. She asks if he's talking about Stephanie. There was a deception going on in that room, Mark says, a manipulation... and he was part of it!
