Hector sees a different side of Brooke.
At the Big Bear cabin, Brooke wakes up and finds that Hector has made buttermilk pancakes for breakfast. She thanks him for staying the night; he says he didn't want to leave her alone after what she's been through. She says Ridge and Bridget are the ones who really went through anything; fortunately, they're doing well in the hospital, although they're not too crazy about the food - and speaking of which, she thanks him for breakfast, and for being there for her family. Hector says it was nothing. He notes how dedicated she was to finding her husband and daughter and admits some surprise at her devotion given how the press portrays her as a "sexy, self-absorbed siren." Brooke laughs at the hype the press uses and says that they were wrong about her, at least on one count.

Caitlin gets a gift from Thomas.
Back in L.A., Caitlin and Thomas are in her office at Forrester talking about their winning the dance contest last night. She asks who gets the trophy; he suggests he keep the trophy while she keeps something else and hands her a jewelry box. There's a brooch inside, a friendship token that's Thomas's way of thanking her for helping out when his dad and Bridget were missing. She says he's her friend, so of course she'll be there for him, just like he's always there for her. She thanks him for the brooch and they hug, not realizing that Amber is in the doorway watching.

Amber sees an upsetting sight.
Amber knocks on the door, breaking up the embrace. Caitlin takes Amber's arrival as a cue to get something to drink, so she excuses herself. Thomas asks Amber why she's here. She says she misses him. She knows he needs his space, and from what she sees, he's enjoying having it. He says he and Caitlin are just friends. Amber says he doesn't have to explain. In fact, she wants him to sow his wild oats, since she thinks that will make him realize how special their relationship really is. She thinks they're meant to be together and asks him to remember that. She then leaves and takes out the photo of Ridge kissing Bridget in the mine; she says it's the key to getting through to Ridge and getting Thomas back.

Ridge tells Stephanie to rest in his room.
In Bridget's hospital room, Eric, Stephanie, Massimo and Nick gather as Bridget and Ridge talk to their doctor. The doctor says Bridget was right about how she described her condition to Ridge, so she's indeed lucky to be alive. As for Ridge, the doctor says Bridget was also right that he has a grade two concussion, so he instructs Ridge to take it easy until his brain heals. Ridge says she'll need a new ski partner now, but she doesn't see herself skiing any time soon. The doctor leaves. Massimo commends Ridge and Bridget for hanging in there in the mine, and he praises Nick for heroically saving them. The important thing, Eric says, is that Bridget is OK, although he wishes he could say the same about his wife. Stephanie says she's just tired, so Ridge tells her to go take a nap in his room for a while. Guessing that Bridget needs some rest, Nick thinks he should be going, too, and he leaves with Massimo and Ridge; as they leave, Eric thanks Nick again.
Outside, Massimo asks Ridge how he is. Just ducky, Ridge says. Nick thinks that's because he comes from good stock; Mass agrees that they Marones are quite resilient. He goes to call for the helicopter, leaving Ridge with Nick. Ridge thanks Nick again and suggests he go see Bridget. Nick reminds Ridge that Bridget's with Eric now, but Ridge thinks Bridget won't mind seeing him. Nick laughs given how hard Ridge tried to keep him away from Bridget before. Ridge thinks facing death gave him a new perspective, which is why he wants his half brother to go see Bridget.

“Nurse Logan” slips into her husband's room to offer some TLC.
Brooke, dressed like in a skimpy nurse's outfit, slips into Ridge's room to give her husband some TLC, not realizing the covered figure in the bed is Stephanie. As Brooke seductively offers to give "Ridge" a foot massage, Stephanie wakes up and holds back her laughter. Brooke asks how it feels; Stephanie groans, which Brooke takes to mean "he" likes it. She suggests that "he" let "Nurse Logan" take a closer look - and just as she peeks under the covers, Ridge comes in. Brooke is stunned to see him - and even more stunned to see Stephanie in the bed! Stephanie needles Brooke about her bedside manner; Ridge tells his mom not to have too much fun with this, but Stephanie says it was so entertaining. He tells her that Eric is looking for her to take her to brunch, so she thanks "Nurse Logan" again and leaves. Brooke then sighs at the thought that she came on this his mother. Ridge has to smile and laugh at the thought. Brooke is still feeling traumatized from massaging his mom, but she's glad to see him smile. He says that like always, they found their way back to each other. He admits that this whole experience made him see one thing: that he can't go even one day without her in his life. They kiss.

Eric asks Bridget if Nick's more than a friend to her.
In Bridget's room, Eric tells her how relieved he is that she's OK. She thanks Ridge and Nick for that. So Nick is an amazing guy? he asks. Yeah, he is, Bridget says. Eric points out how they went up to the cabin together. Bridget says they're just friends. Eric suggests that they may be more given how Nick went to so much trouble to find her and Ridge. She reminds him that Ridge is Nick's brother. Eric admits that's true, but he also doesn't see anything wrong with her relationship with Nick being more than just friendship. She asks if he's giving her his parental stamp of approval; as much as anyone interested in her can get from him, he says.

Nick brings Bridget a gift.
Nick knocks on the door and asks if he's interrupting; Eric says it's fine, since he should be checking on Stephanie. He tells Bridget he loves her and leaves. Bridget then sees Nick has something behind his back and asks what it is. He tells her that there wasn't much to choose from in the hospital gift shop, but he thinks he found the perfect gift for a hypothermia patient: a popsicle, to remind her what she almost became. She says he's a sick puppy; he thanks her but admits that this isn't her real present. He then takes out a bottle of suntan lotion for her to use when he takes her on a tropical trip on the Shady Marlin. She's surprised that he wants to go on a trip with her. He says someone has to keep a close eye on her after they almost lost her. She reminds him of all the reasons they already agreed on that this would never work. Nick agrees, but he thinks almost losing her made him think about those reasons. While searching for her, he realized that no matter how valid those reasons were, he likes being with her and he doesn't want to lose her.
Bridget makes a confession to Nick.
Bridget says he hasn't lost her, since he saved her. He says he was in the right place at the right time. She tells him about what she thought about in the mine. She recalls how lost she was when she came home, because of her feelings for Ridge; he was there for her when she needed him then, even though it would have been easy for him to walk away. He admits he wasn't being selfless. But they both found something they didn't expect, she says. She admits to him that when she needed something to focus on in the mine, something to fight for, she thought of his kiss. She didn't want it to be the last one they shared. Really? Nick asks. He adds that actually, he felt the same way and they kiss each other passionately.
