Stephanie worries that Nick is seeing Bridget by default.
Stephanie drops by the Shady Marlin to see Nick. She sees that Bridget's gone and asks how their date went. Getting the point, Nick asks Stephanie what she wants. A cold beer and conversation, she says - and a little talk about Bridget. She says that she can see why he'd be attracted to a pretty young girl like Bridget, but at the same time, she's concerned that he was headed for the altar not too long ago with Bridget's mother. But Brooke is married to Ridge, Nick points out. And now he's dating Brooke's daughter, Stephanie says, and she's worried that he's chosen Bridget by default since he can't have Brooke. Nick reminds her that he's a grown man and doesn't think he deserves that accusation. Stephanie reminds him that Bridget's exercised poor judgement in the past when it comes to men, and she wants to make sure Bridget has a man who appreciates her. Nick thanks that's fair; he says that Bridget's young, beautiful, ambitious and intelligent - all the things he thinks Stephanie sees in her, and maybe more.

Nick assures Stephanie that he's not playing games with Bridget.
Stephanie reminds Nick that he was involved with her daughter. Nick reminds her that some relationships don't last and assures her that he doesn't play games. But he doesn't wear his heart on his sleeve, either, she says. He says he told her how he feels about Bridget and would think she'd be happy to see Bridget with anyone but Ridge. She hopes that's passed. He says it has. She's glad and hopes he and Bridget might even be good for each other. Hasn't she seen the change in Bridget? he asks. She says she's seen the change in him, so she's convinced, but she's not so sure Brooke will be. Nick says he and Brooke have talked about her concerns for Bridget. Stephanie says Brooke told her that, too. And why wouldn't she believe it, he asks, especially after what he just told her? She says he told her how he feels about Bridget, but she wonders how he feels about Brooke. He admits what he had with Brooke was special, so he'll always have feelings for her. But the thing he wants most for Brooke is for her to be happy - and now that Brooke has the life she's always dreamt of with Ridge, he's accepted that she's happy and moved on. He suggests that Stephanie do the same, because he doesn't think anything or anyone will split Ridge and Brooke up.

Eric worries about Bridget's fascination with Nick.
Bridget stops by the Forrester mansion to see Eric on her way home from dinner; after the wonderful evening she had, she didn't want to go home yet. Eric asks where she was. She tells him that Nick invited her to his boat and cooked dinner for her. She thinks that's adorable, but he's not sure that's the word he'd use. She thinks it is, because Nick IS adorable; she always enjoys herself when she's with him. Eric's surprised to hear that, not only because he didn't know Nick could cook, but because he didn't think she knew Nick that well. He's surprised she's so fascinated with Nick. Who wouldn't be, she asks, given the life Nick's lived? He reminds her that she's done her share of traveling in Europe, but she says Nick's different. He's not only worldly, but he's smart and talented. He even showed her the constellations and sang a song he wrote for her. Eric's even more surprised. Bridget senses his concern, especially given the age difference, and tells him not to worry, because Nick makes her happy. Eric says he just doesn't want her to rush into anything, especially with Nick. If it's because of Nick's history with her mom, Bridget says, that's in the past. She just wishes everyone would realize that and see that she's not burying her head in the sand about it. Yes, Nick loved her mom, but it's over. She thinks she'd know if it wasn't.

Bridget reminds her dad that she can take care of herself.
Eric recalls how Deacon almost destroyed Bridget's relationship with Brooke. Bridget says she's past that. He says he isn't; he always wonders if he could have done a better job of protecting her from Deacon, and now she's dating another man who was involved with her mother. She says this is different: Nick wouldn't be dating her if he was still carrying a torch for her mom. Eric worries about what could happen if she's wrong. Bridget appreciates his concern, but she thinks he has to trust that she's old enough to take care of herself. He says he trusts her, but not the men in her life. She admits she's made mistakes, but she's also learned from them. But why choose Nick when there are so many eligible men who never even heard of her mother? he asks. She reminds him what it was like when she lived here in high school. [Note from Scott: When was that? Did that happen off camera?] He hated every guy she brought home. He says that was his job, because he didn't think anyone was good enough for her. Especially Nick, she guesses. He just wants her to be sure she knows what she's getting into. She reminds him how she over-analyzes everything; even Nick sees that. That's why she knows it's right with Nick. She doesn't feel like she has to figure him out, since they just get swept up in the emotion of being together. Eric admits he sees the change in her and that she seems happy. He just wants her to be careful and to remember that he's always there for her.

Amber tells Clarke that Ridge wants to see her behind bars.
Clarke finds Amber in his office and thinks it's a good sign that Ridge didn't kill her. She's not so sure, since her plan didn't go exactly as she'd hoped. He asks what happened. She says that Ridge twisted everything around, like always, and is going to show the picture to Brooke. Clarke thinks Ridge must be crazy to put his marriage at risk that way and bets that Ridge is bluffing. Amber doesn't think so; she thinks Ridge is so desperate to destroy her that he doesn't even care what that photo will do to Brooke. He's so obsessed that he'll do anything to see her in jail. Did Ridge mention jail? Clarke asks. Yes, Amber says, he did: he said he was going to the police after he showed the photo to Brooke, so it's only a matter of time before they're charged with kidnapping, assault and attempted murder. Clarke asks if she told Ridge about his involvement. She says she was so upset that she's not sure. And besides, Ridge will know she had to have help, and chances are someone saw them together at Big Bear. If Ridge and Brooke take that photo to the cops, she says, they're dead. Clarke however thinks that Ridge will have his hands full saving his marriage once Brooke sees that photo.

Ridge tells Brooke what Amber did.
At Ridge's house, Ridge tells Brooke that he went to see Amber. She says she should've known, since he was so bothered by Amber interrupting their dinner. She guesses there's more than she knows and asks what Amber did this time. She went too far in her desperation to get Thomas back, Ridge explains. She reminds him how he feels about Amber and wonders if he's letting that color his judgement, since she doesn't think Amber's malicious. But she is, Ridge says, and she's doing everything in her power to tear this family apart. Brooke asks what Amber did that was so horrible; he tells her that Amber almost killed her daughter by luring her into that mineshaft! The woman in trouble that Bridget followed to the mine was actually Amber! Brooke is shocked that Amber would do something that horrible just because she couldn't see Thomas. And there's more, Ridge adds: Amber was counting on him looking for Bridget. Trapping him in that mine with Bridget was all part of Amber's sick plan. She felt that once they were trapped together, he and Bridget would act on the feelings she thought they had for each other.

Brooke is frightened as Ridge takes the photo out to show her.
Brooke can't believe Amber is starting this again and nearly froze him and Bridget to death just to prove a point. Ridge says he intends to make sure Amber pays, but there's still more he has to tell her. Brooke is shocked: she thinks Amber must be deranged to go after him and Bridget that way and wants to call the police right now. She can't believe she ever gave Amber the benefit of the doubt. She reaches for the phone, but Ridge stops her. He says she has to hear the whole story first. She can't imagine what else there is to say. He asks her to listen, and they can call the police once he's done. Brooke agrees. Ridge explains to her the lengths Amber went to. She spent hours watching them at the cabin, waiting for everyone but him and Bridget to leave. Then she lured them to the mineshaft, where she had planted a camera to capture the evidence that there was something going on between him and Bridget, and she waited for something to happen. And they could have died while she was waiting, Brooke points out. Ridge explains that Amber wasn't letting them out until she had her proof. But she never got any, Brooke exclaims! She can't believe Amber could be this sick. Before she says anything else, Ridge says, there's something she has to see. He takes the photo from his pocket and looks at Brooke, who looks frightened as he holds the photo.
