Taylor's a lady in red in Hector's mind.
Hector drops by Forrester to see Taylor. She calls out to him from behind a screen that she'll be right there. He says he got her message that she had something for him; picking up a small box on her desk, he wonders if this might be a belated Christmas present. Actually, she says, the company has a donation for his fire station's annual toy drive. She admires the work he does for the community, so the gift on the desk is for the kids. However, she has another gift just for him, she says, as she comes out from behind the screen wearing a revealing satin red outfit. "Holy smokin' Christmas tree," exclaims Hector, the boy wonder. She tells him he'll have to unwrap this gift himself, as she wants him. He says he's hers. Here, she tells him, now. He starts to kiss her when he hears her call out his name...
...ending his fantasy and bringing him back to reality. Taylor tells him that the donation for the toy drive is on the loading dock, so he can put it on his truck. She offers to take him there, but he thinks he can find it. After all, he doesn't want Ridge to see them together. Actually, she says, Ridge is still in Paris. Hector can't believe that Ridge would leave a woman as beautiful as her behind. She says that Ridge is worried about the business, but he can't believe that the business is more important to Ridge than spending time over the holidays with his family. Taylor admits it seems odd, but she has to admit that Forrester is really struggling in Europe. And since Ridge already missed his flight for Christmas, he stayed over a little longer. Still, she has to admit that she's disappointed that Ridge wasn't here for her first Christmas back home. Hector says that she's changed. She's not the same girl Ridge married, but Ridge doesn't see that.

Hector offers Taylor a dare.
Hector stops himself; he knows he probably said too much, since this is none of his business. It's just that he cares about her so much. Taylor reminds him that she's married. He says he supports that, but he has one question. He wants to know what she'll do it Ridge isn't home for New Year's. She says that Ridge will be here. He reminds her that Ridge missed Christmas. She says that she and Ridge have talked about this and he knows that she has a New Year's kiss waiting for him, so she's sure he won't disappoint her again. Hector asks if she's up for a dare. She says she is, since she knows Ridge will show up. In that case, Hector says that he will claim that New Year's kiss if Ridge doesn't show. Taylor is sure that Ridge will show. Either way, Hector says, this might be the most important New Year's Eve of her life. That said, he thinks he should be on his way. But before he heads down to the loading dock, he wants her to know that he'd do anything for her. If she wasn't a married woman, she says, there's nothing she'd like more than that. Hector tells his "little firefly" that he's respected her marriage and has kept his feelings for her to himself. But if Ridge isn't back for New Year's Eve, Hector intends to put on a full court press to show her just how he feels. With that, he leaves.

Jackie worries that Bridget and the baby are getting overlooked.
Jackie is in Massimo's office, looking at his photos of baby Dominick. She's surprised he hasn't ordered a bust of his grandson yet, to go along with the other Marone men. Massimo says that he mentioned it to Dante, but Dominick isn't officially a Marone yet. He's a Marone all right, Jackie says, even if his name is still Forrester. Until Felicia is gone, Mass says. Jackie says she wants to talk to Mass about Dominick. She's worried that in all their fussing over their new grandson, they're forgetting Bridget and her baby. Mass thinks it's understandable given the circumstances. Jackie agrees, but she also doesn't want Bridget's child to be lost in the shuffle. That's why she wants to throw a shower to celebrate Bridget, Nick and their daughter, to show Bridget that they're thinking of her. Mass thinks that's a great idea. Jackie says she's been known to have one now and then. Mass reminds her that he never said she wasn't smart. He just said he didn't want to be married to her.

Massimo approves of Jackie's idea.
Jackie is all excited about throwing the shower to end all baby showers, with all sorts of presents for Bridget and Nick's little girl. She wants that baby to feel like a princess. Mass reminds her that they have months to go, but Jackie can't wait. She has to admit that she worried at one time about Nicky's feelings for Brooke. Mass admits having similar concerns and wonders if his son will ever get over Brooke. Never, Jackie says. However, she also knows how committed Nick is to his marriage and his unborn daughter. She thinks that Nick and Bridget have overcome so many obstacles to be together, and that baby will bond them together forever.

Nick and Bridget worry about the baby.
At the beach house, a frightened Bridget lies in pain after her fall. She fears for her baby and worries that she might be bleeding. Nick tells her to put her arms around his neck so he can get her to the hospital. Bridget does, so he gets her to the car and calls the hospital. When they arrive, he asks where Dr. Caspary is, since he called ahead. Bridget starts to worry, but the doctor arrives and asks Bridget what happened. Nick explains that Bridget fell off a chair when reaching for something. Bridget says she's bleeding and cramping, and she has pains in her lower abdominals and back. She's worried about the baby. The doctor wants to examine her first before making any conclusions. Bridget apologizes to Nick, who reassures her that she was doing something wonderful. After the exam, the doctor says the baby is fine, since Nick got Bridget here in time. However, there are complications: the mucus plug has been compromised, there's been loss of amniotic fluid and blood, and the cervix is open, leaving a chance of infection or miscarriage. That's why she wants to do a cervical cerclage to close the cervix. Nick asks if surgery is necessary. Bridget says it's her best chance of carrying the baby to term. The doctor agrees, saying that this is successful in 85-90% of cases like this. While she goes to prepare for the surgery, Bridget asks Nick if he'll stay here with her. He says that he's here every step of the way.

Dr. Caspary checks for a heartbeat from the baby.
After the surgery, Dr. Caspary says things went well, but she needs Bridget to stay in the hospital for a short time to make sure there are no complications. Otherwise, she thinks the baby will be fine. Nick thanks the doctor, and he and Bridget then exchange "I love yous." Bridget gets some rest and is glad to see Nick there when she wakes up. He asks how she feels. She says she doesn't feel anything. Nick guesses that's the epidural and thinks he'll want one himself when she delivers. Bridget tells him not to make her laugh. The doctor is glad to hear Bridget in such good spirits. She gives Bridget a list of instructions: she starts off with no heavy lifting or carrying around heavy objects. Nick wants to add no climbing on chairs, and the doctor agrees. She also wants to check the stitch of the cervix periodically to minimize the risk of miscarriage. She's sure Bridget will be fine if she follows those instructions. Nick assures her that Bridget will do as she's told. The doctor then wants to do a sonogram to check the baby's heart. After several minutes go by without any change, Nick and Bridget start to worry that they haven't seen a heartbeat yet. The doctor says it can take a while, but Bridget is still uneasy. Alarmed, Bridget says it has to be there; she looks to Nick and repeats, "It has to be there!"
