Stephanie reassures a distraught Felicia.
It's the day after Christmas, and Stephanie brings breakfast to the guest house. Having seen Renee taking baby Dominick for a walk, she lets herself in and calls out for Felicia, who doesn't answer. She walks into the bedroom and finds Felicia in tears, ripping off some blood stained sheets from the bed and crying that she ruined the bed. Stephanie takes Felicia in her arms and tells her not to worry about it. Soon after, Stephanie changes the sheets; Felicia says she would have helped, since she feels humiliated having her mother clean up after her. Stephanie points out how she changed Felicia's diapers. Felicia laments that she can't handle this on her own. Stephanie says she doesn't have to, since she's here for Felicia. She asks Felicia if there's anything some doctor can do now. Felicia says she hasn't given up, if that's what Stephanie thinks. She chose not to have the radiation so that Dominick could be born, and she has no regrets. Still, she doesn't want to go out in a sea of tears. She wants to die like she lived, looking for one big party. If that's what she wants, Stephanie says, she'll have it. They hug.

Felicia comes to an understanding with her mother.
Stephanie brings Felicia some juice. Felicia says how clearly she sees things since she's dying. Stephanie says she always pegged Felicia for the realist in the family. Felicia says she sees everything differently now. She has something to tell her mother: she's scared right now. She thinks Stephanie is one of the strongest people she knows, and she needs some of that strength now. Stephanie agrees to give it; she says she'll honor Felicia's wishes and give her the wildest, wackiest, loudest party ever when she goes, if that's what she wants. It's just like she gave Felicia the old fashioned Christmas she wished for. Felicia remembers the day and thinks about how much love and care her son will get when she's gone. She asks Stephanie to be there for Dominick, since he'll need an iron fist from time to time. Stephanie says she'll be there. Felicia apologizes for being so rebellious that she couldn't see the love Stephanie had for her. She guesses she didn't see it because she wasn't a mother. Now she knows, Stephanie says.

Brooke is hard at work in the basement office, going over some sales figures, when Taylor comes in. Brooke says she's having trouble concentrating and guesses that it's the holidays. They are a mixed bag, Taylor says. They both agree how well things went yesterday, given all the disagreements they had this past year. Felicia really pulled the family together, Brooke notes. Taylor thinks they all deserve some credit, especially Bridget, who agreed to raise a child Nick had with another woman. Brooke says she's glad to see Bridget happy. Taylor asks Brooke if that means that Nick wasn't her destiny like she thought? She then realizes that's none of her business, but Brooke wants to answer. She says it's hard to find the words to describe the passion she felt for Nick. Taylor admits that she was threatened by Brooke, even when Brooke's feelings for Nick replaced those she had for Ridge. Brooke guesses she was so wrapped up in Ridge that she didn't see that Nick was the man who could make her happy until it was too late. Taylor guesses that Brooke realized her feelings just as Bridget got pregnant with Nick's child. Brooke says she loves Nick even more for choosing Bridget, since it shows how committed and honorable he is. She's proud of her love for Nick, because it was never simple, but it was honest and powerful.

Brooke explains her feelings for Nick to Taylor.
Taylor asks Brooke about sex with Nick, since she always sees sex as defining Brooke's relationships, yet Brooke hasn't said anything about that. Brooke says she never slept with Nick at that time. Even on the night on the boat where they reconnected? Taylor asks. Brooke says it's probably hard for Taylor to believe, but what she and Nick shared was so powerful that sex wasn't necessary. She found with Nick something she never had before, a relationship where Nick's love touched her in ways nothing physical ever could. It changed her, she says. But she suppressed those feelings, for Bridget's sake. Taylor asks Brooke if she can really hold feelings that powerful back forever. Brooke says it isn't easy, but she knows it's the right thing to do every time she sees Bridget smile. She thinks her daughter's happiness is more important to her than anything, so she's happy to bring that joy to Bridget's life. So she's saying she loves Nick more than she's loved any other man? Taylor asks Brooke. Brooke nods and says she can do this because she loves Nick.

Nick and Bridget make plans for baby Dominick.
In the bedroom at the beach house, Bridget and Nick think about yesterday; Bridget says she wants to hold onto that day forever, so she can let Dominick know all about his mother and how much Felicia loved him, even in the face of her tragic illness. She admits to Nick that it's hard for her to think about how things were between him and Felicia and asks how things were. He says it's weird lying in bed talking about this to his wife. She says it shouldn't be, since he's weird. He thinks he must be if he chose her. She reminds him that she chose him. She wants to stay in bed this way all day. He says that he can stay home from work, but she says Massimo needs him. He jokes that Mass is already training Dominick as his replacement. In that case, she asks, why don't they get busy cleaning up the spare room for Dominick? She really wants Felicia to have a chance to see the room. Nick says he loves her more and more every day as they kiss.

Bridget takes a nasty fall.
Soon after, Bridget brings a box out with some ideas she had for the nursery. Nick takes the box from her and scolds her for carrying something so heavy. She's the queen, he tells her, while he's the lowly worker, so he wants her to tell him whatever she needs. She tells him about the themes she found. One was a race car theme, which Nick thinks is OK. Then there was the ballet theme, that she loved; Nick looks at that one and lets it drop to the floor. Then, Bridget says, there was a nautical theme. Of course, Nick approves of that one and goes to get some stuff he has that would be perfect. As he leaves the room, Bridget spots a model boat on a high shelf that she thinks would work, so she grabs a wooden chair from the table and climbs on top of it. The chair seems unsteady, but Bridget thinks she can still do this, so she reaches out for the boat with one hand, holding on to the shelf with the other. Suddenly, the chair gives way, and Bridget loses her grip and falls to the ground! Hearing the noise, Nick runs in and races to Bridget's side. As he asks what's wrong, she tells him that something hurts, something is wrong with the baby. Nick wants to call 911, but Bridget doesn't want him to leave her, so he stays by her side.
