Soon after, they return to the hotel. Dante is still trying to calm her down, but she keeps insisting that she has to find Nick. What she did was wrong, she cries. Dante says that she did what she had to. Bridget tells him that he didn't see Nick; she recalls Nick asking her "why?" on the beach, and she sobs at thought of how selfish she's been. Dante tells her that she needs to be sure, for her sake and the baby's, especially since Nick admitted to her that he's still in love with her mother. Nick said it was over, she reminds him. Nick said a lot of things, Dante points out; that's why he thinks she has to wait to see what Nick does next. But she crushed Nick! Bridget sobs. Nick is hurt, Dante tells her. He thinks that Nick will come back to her if he really loves her, but he'll turn to Brooke if that's who he really loves. Because she pushed them there, Bridget notes. No, Dante insists, because they can't help themselves. Bridget thinks about how much this made sense last night. She knew Nick would be shocked when she told him she aborted their child. But it was a lie! she cries. And now that she's lied to Nick about something so precious, she laments, she may have lost him forever. Brooke is in her living room, staring at the gun Stephanie gave her. When Catherine comes in with Hope and RJ, Brooke slips the gun into the gift bag Stephanie brought it in and greets them. She's glad to hear that they had fun in the park. Brooke then sends Hope to the kitchen, where Marta is waiting to make cookies for Hope to take to Ridge's tomorrow. Once Hope's gone, Brooke asks Catherine to bag up some of RJ's old clothes. Is she donating them? Catherine asks. Actually, Brooke says, she's handing them down. Since Catherine's always been so close to Bridget (Since when? Did they bond while Bridget was living at Ridge's after Taylor "died"?), Brooke decides that it's OK to tell Catherine that Bridget is pregnant with Nick's child.
Back at the hotel, Bridget calls Catherine. She gives the nanny the address and asks her to come over. When Bridget tells him that Catherine's on her way, Dante asks if they can trust her. "More than I can trust myself right now," Bridget says. Dante asks if she's having second thoughts; she tells him that she wants this baby, and she wants to raise it with Nick. Not if Nick's still in love with her mother, Dante reminds her. Soon after, a confused Catherine arrives and asks what's going on. Bridget reminds Catherine that they've known each other a long time; that's why she knows she can count on Catherine's help. She explains that she lied to Nick that she aborted their child; it was the only way to find out if Nick loves Bridget or her mother, Dante adds. Catherine doubts that there's anything going on between Nick and Brooke. Bridget tells her that they admitted their feelings for each other, but they said they wouldn't act on them. Bridget needs to be sure, Dante says; that's why she chose to test Nick this way. Catherine thinks this is risky, given how Nick feels about kids. Bridget knows that, but she thinks this is the only way to be sure how Nick feels. Nick and Brooke have to believe they're free, Dante adds; he asks Catherine to be their eyes and ears in the house. Bridget knows it will be hard, given how close Catherine is to her mom, but it's the only way. Catherine still can't believe Brooke would do this after what happened with Deacon, but she reluctantly agrees to help. Still, she can't help but think that Nick's feelings for Brooke, if he has any, won't compare to those he has for Bridget once he finds out about the baby.
Back at the hotel, Bridget thinks about how devastated Brooke will be when she hears about the "abortion." Dante assures her that she did the right thing, but she fears that the lie will spin out of control and ruin people's lives. She thinks about how devastated Nick was about the "abortion," and she's sure Brooke will blame herself once she hears. Dante reminds her that Brooke isn't innocent in this. Bridget says that she isn't innocent, either, since she's deceiving the man she loves and her own mother, deliberately causing them pain. Dante says he doesn't want to tell her what to do: that's why he wants her to pick up the phone right now and call Nick and her mother if she can't go through with this. But if she tells them the truth, he warns, she'll never know if Nick chose her or the baby. He advises her to wait a few days and let Catherine find out what's going on. And if nothing's going on? she asks. Dante reminds her that her mother and Nick admitted having feelings for each other; he tells Bridget that this is her chance to find out if they will act on those feelings.
