Thomas has some ideas for Gaby.
At Ridge's Bel Air home, Taylor plays Gin Rummy with Thomas and Gaby and beats them. She offers some ice cream to soothe the agony of their defeat. Sure, Thomas says. Gaby thanks Taylor, who goes to the kitchen to get the ice cream. Once his mom's gone, Thomas tells Gaby that he has some better ideas about how to spend their time than playing cards with his mom, and he kisses her. Gaby pulls away and reminds him of the rules; she suggests that she go help his mom get the ice cream, but he says he'll do it. He exits the room and Gaby sits down on the couch, just as Ridge comes in. Gaby asks what he's doing home. The question, he says, is why is SHE in HIS home? She starts to explain just as Taylor and Thomas return. Taylor greets Ridge as Gaby tells Thomas that his dad wanted to know why she's here. Thomas defiantly tells a stunned Ridge that his wife lives here now!

Ridge asks Taylor how she can let Gaby stay with them.
Ridge asks Taylor and Thomas what's going on. Taylor tells him that Gaby is living in their guest room to get Agent Dunn off their backs. But they're still breaking the law, Ridge says, and he won't have that in HIS house. Thomas reminds him that this is Taylor's house, too, and Taylor wants Gaby here. He then asks Ridge if his being here means he's made up his mind where he belongs. Ridge tells Thomas not to change the subject, and Taylor agrees. She explains to Ridge about the ground rules, that Gaby will stay here in the guest room without crossing the line, so she can go to college. Gaby assures Ridge that she won't cross the line. She sure won't, Ridge snarls. Thomas says he did this so Gaby could have the future her mom wanted for her. That's all well and good, Ridge says, but they can't break the law to help everyone who wants to be schooled in America. Thomas says he doesn't care about everyone; he just wants to help Gaby, since she matters to him - a lot!

Eric wants answers from Stephanie.
At the beach house, Stephanie explains to Eric that Bridget is pregnant. Eric asks if Bridget is happy about this. She should be, Stephanie says - but she isn't, and maybe if he wasn't running around town with marriage proposals, he might know what's going on with his own daughter. He tells her to leave Brooke out of it, but Stephanie says that Brooke is the problem! Eric is confused, so Stephanie tells him what she thinks should be obvious, that Nick has been spending every waking moment with Brooke since the "incident" with Hope. Eric says he knows that, and Nick did that because he felt guilty. But it's more than guilt now, Stephanie says, since Bridget saw her mother with Nick, giving into their feelings for each other. That sight drove Bridget to decide to walk away from Nick - at least, until she got the results of the pregnancy test.

Stephanie worries about Bridget.
Eric sees how this pregnancy could complicate things. Stephanie tells him that Bridget sees this as the answer to her prayers. It will preclude Brooke and Nick having a relationship, Eric says. The only thing it precludes, Stephanie says, it that Nick and Brooke are not being honest about it. Eric doesn't think Brooke would interfere with Nick wanting a child. Stephanie tells him to take his blinders off and see how this only makes things worse. She reminds him what it was like when Brooke slept with Bridget's husband. Eric tells her to get over that and see this baby as a blessing in disguise, but she feels that Bridget is on the verge of a breakdown. She worries what it will do to Bridget if things don't unfold as Bridget imagined them.

Brooke and Nick try to defend themselves.
And sure enough, at Brooke's house, a stunned Bridget finds Brooke and Nick enjoying a cozy dinner for two. Brooke reminds Bridget that she said she wasn't coming home tonight, so Nick asked her to join him in eating the dinner he'd bought for Bridget. It was supposed to be a surprise, Nick says. Bridget says that she's surprised, all right, but she doesn't know if she should be. Brooke tries to tell Bridget that they did nothing wrong; Nick then asks Bridget to let him explain and not to jump to any conclusions. He tells Bridget that he and Brooke realized how uncomfortable she is over their friendship, so they had just agreed to be sensitive about Bridget's feelings. It's not what it looks like, Brooke tells her daughter. Then what is it? an angry Bridget asks; is it a celebration? Is Brooke congratulating herself on the fact that Bridget gets freaked out seeing her mom with her fiance, touching each other? She thinks about how happy she was tonight until she walked in here. Brooke says she couldn't sleep and came down for a book. Seeing Brooke in a nighty, Bridget tells her to go put on some clothes! Brooke goes up to change, leaving Bridget alone with Nick. She reminds him how she only asked for a little assurance from him, and she got it. She thinks she was fool to be grateful for that, since it was nothing but lies!

Nick tells Bridget not to overreact, but she asks how she can do that when she finds her mother, clad in her lingerie, with her fiance. Nick says she has it wrong, but she doesn't think that he can be the first man to walk away from her mother. Nick thinks this is just stress talking; she's upset because of her workload, because of what happened with Eric and because of what happened to Hope. She notes how he blames everyone but himself and her mother; she doesn't know how that could be when she saw the two of them in that hospital bed with Hope. She wishes she was crazy, but she saw how close her mom and Nick were and she knows there is something there. Nick tries to tell her that her mother and he were saying goodbye, since his future is with her. She asks what kind of future they can have after he just admitted that he has feelings for her mother. She thinks about all the promises he made to her and wonders if those were just lies. Nobody is lying, Brooke says, coming down in a robe. Bridget is tired of all Brooke's excuses. Brooke tells Bridget that if she needs to get angry, she should do so with her, the one who has taken up all of Nick's time. Bridget thinks back to when Brooke slept with Deacon. It took everything in her, but Bridget forgave her mom for that. However, she doesn't think she can ever forgive Brooke for this.

Brooke says that she and Nick haven't betrayed Bridget. Maybe not physically, Bridget says, but what about in their hearts? Brooke and Nick try to explain, but Bridget thinks she sees it already: her mom is again playing damsel in distress while parading her body around in skimpy lingerie, and parading her problems in front of a sympathetic male. Eric, Stephanie, Ridge, Taylor and Jackie all tried to warn her, but she wouldn't listen! "I guess its just fool me once shame on you, but fool me twice and shame on me," she sighs. No one was trying to fool her, Nick says. She guesses she was fooling herself into thinking that she could trust Nick. She can, Brooke says, reaching out to Bridget and telling her that nothing is going to happen. Bridget pulls away; Brooke insists that she loves Bridget more than any man, but Bridget thinks Brooke is only in tune with her own needs. Bridget then recalls growing up amid all the scandals; she suffered from living in one crisis to another, always smiling for the camera and putting on a brave face. Everyone used to marvel at how well adjusted she was. And now, she asks, how well adjusted is she? She's not, she replies, and she's tired of hiding it!

Bridget wants no part of Nick unless she can have him all.
Bridget calls Brooke sick as she recalls how she always wanted a life of her own, outside her mom's shadow. She waited her whole life for that. And it could still happen, Brooke says. How can it, Bridget asks, when she would be getting Nick by default? Nick tells her that he wants to be with her, but she is sure that he still loves her mother. Her mom infects people, she says, including herself, Eric, Ridge and Deacon. In spite of everything, she was proud of her mother and defended her to Stephanie. She thought Brooke had learned from her mistakes, so she forgave her. Brooke reaches out for Bridget, but Bridget tells her mom not to touch her! She knows her mom thinks she hasn't crossed any boundaries, but that's only because those boundaries don't exist for Brooke! Nick apologizes for confusing her and tells her not to take that out on her mother. She tells him to stay away and goes back to Brooke, recalling how hard it was to forgive her mother for what happened with Deacon. She accepted Hope as her sister. And now her mother has done it to her again, starting the cycle of abuse and pain all over again. That humiliation has to stop right now, she says, turning to Nick with a wild look in her eyes. She tells him it's over: she doesn't want him if he's still in love with her mother. If she can't have all of him, she doesn't want any part of him. She tells him again that it's over. It all stops now.
