Bridget is still at the cabin; shaken and alone, she clutches her stomach. Stephanie returns with something for Bridget's queasy stomach and a home pregnancy test. Bridget sobs that she can't be pregnant and says she's just upset about what's happened. Stephanie asks if she's on the pill; when Bridget doesn't reply, Stephanie says it IS possible, so she hands Bridget the test kit. It will just take five minutes, Stephanie says as Bridget stares at the box.

At Brooke's, she and Nick sit in front of the fireplace gazing at each other. Nick tells her that she'll be happy again. They start to lean closer, but Brooke pulls back and asks what they're doing. Nick doesn't know and says he's sorry. Brooke thinks she's the one who should be sorry. Nick thinks he should call Bridget. And what will he say? Brooke asks.

When Bridget's cell phone rings, Stephanie suggests that Bridget answer it, since Nick might send a search party if she doesn't. She offers to answer for Bridget, but Bridget takes the call. Nick asks where she is; he then tells her that Hope's doing better and that they just brought her home. With her mother? Bridget asks. Yes, Nick says, again asking where Bridget is. She said she needed some time. He apologizes for not being around for her since Hope wanted him at the hospital; sure, Bridget says. Brooke then asks for the phone; Nick hands it to her and she tells Bridget that she's sorry for monopolizing Nick's time because of how Hope feels about him. She knows Nick misses Bridget and has a surprise planned for when Bridget gets home tonight. Bridget says she won't be home. Brooke tells her not to be angry. Bridget says she's not and asks if it's OK for her to have some time for herself. Of course it is, Brooke says, but... Before she can say anymore, Bridget says goodbye and hangs up.

Brooke tells Nick that they can't act on their feelings.
Brooke and Nick put some space between them. Nick guesses that Bridget didn't tell Brooke where she was, either. Brooke guesses that Bridget doesn't want to be found and suggests that Nick wait a while and call back. Nick thinks Bridget knows what the two of them haven't really faced, that they've lied to Bridget. No, Brooke says. Then how does she explain what just happened? Nick asks. Walking toward Brooke, he points out that he's been unfaithful to Bridget in every way but one, and tonight proved how easily he could cross that line. Brooke thinks they're just tired from spending the night at the hospital, but Nick admits that he's in love with both her and her daughter. He doesn't know how he can feel so strongly about two women. Brooke says she does, since it could have happened for the two of them if she wasn't caught up on Ridge in the past. And now that she sees what she could have had with Nick, he's with Bridget. They both have those feelings, Nick says. Brooke reminds him of the day he took her to Catalina; she knew then she could love him, but now it's too late. Nick says it's over because they decided it was. Brooke says she wants Bridget to be safe; she recalls how she betrayed Bridget in the past and refuses to let that happen again. Nick promises that Bridget will he happy with him. Brooke thanks him and asks what they'll tell Bridget the next time she wonders about them. They'll tell the truth, Nick says, that the two of them can never act on any feelings they have, because Bridget can't be hurt again. That's the way it has to be, they agree.

Stephanie gives out some advice.
At the cabin, Bridget tells Stephanie that Nick and her mom just brought Hope home from the hospital. And Brooke needed an escort for that? Stephanie quips. Bridget says she knows she has to end things with Nick, but it won't be easy. Stephanie tells Bridget that she has to know what she's ending first, which is why she has to take the test. But in med school, Bridget says, she learned that a test you can't do anything about is useless. But in life, Stephanie counters, you need all the facts to make a decision, which is why Bridget has to stop being distracted by Brooke and Nick and take the test. Bridget reluctantly does so, and the results are positive. Stephanie points out that today's tests aren't as easy to read as they were in her day, but Bridget says this wasn't hard to read at all. Bridget asks what she's supposed to do; she knows Stephanie said she could rely on her, but... Stephanie admits that she let her family down; Bridget asks Stephanie not to make this about herself, since Bridget has to face being a mother on her own. Stephanie doesn't think Nick will abandon his child without a fight. This should have been a happy time, Bridget cries, since she and Nick dreamed of this. She wonders why Nick couldn't love just her. He just loves Brooke more, Stephanie says. But her mother can't give Nick this gift, Bridget says. If she's thinking of going back to Nick when Brooke hasn't let go of him, Stephanie tells Bridget, that's just a fantasy.

Bridget disagrees. This is what Nick wants, she says, and now she can give it to him. And he's begging her to come home to him, so why is she crying? She gets her purse and prepares to leave. Stephanie tries to stop her and tells her to think things through, but Bridget thinks she's already seeing clearly. She knows Nick and she love each other, and this baby is a symbol of the promise that she can believe in him. But what about the way he and Brooke looked at each other? Stephanie asks. Bridget thinks they were just caught up in the moment when Hope didn't have brain damage, but Stephanie thinks Bridget's the one getting caught up, in her raging hormones. Bridget refuses to run away, even when Stephanie warns that Nick is in love with another woman. She points out, according to Stephanie, any man who's been with her mom can't love her. Stephanie tells Bridget that she's ten times the woman Brooke is, which is why she wants what's best for Bridget. Bridget thinks Stephanie wants her to be self-righteous and alone, just like Stephanie is. She recalls how she used to want to be like Stephanie, but now she sees that's a dead end. She leaves, leaving a stunned and dismayed Stephanie behind.

Eric gets some information from Stephanie.
Stephanie then heads to the beach house to see Eric, who tries to pull the shade on her to keep her out. Stephanie lets herself in with her key; he says he'll have to change that. She tells him to stop acting like an idiot and burying his head in the sand, because there's a crisis. Of course she has some problem only he can solve, Eric sarcastically responds. Actually, Stephanie says, the one who has the crisis is Bridget! Eric says he's not going to fall for that; if Bridget has a problem, she knows she can come to him. OK, Stephanie tells him, go ahead and live his life the way he wants. Why should she care if he's the last person in the world to find out his daughter is pregnant? Eric is stunned.

Nick invites Brooke to join him.
Back at Brooke's, she's changed into a halter gown and comes downstairs to get a book; she sees Nick with the food he ordered for his romantic evening with Bridget. As Nick has some wine, he says he didn't want to let this go to waste since Bridget isn't coming back tonight. He's surprised she's awake. She couldn't sleep and came down for a book, she explains. In that case, Nick asks, why doesn't she join him? He takes the lid off dishes of cold fish with a name he can't pronounce and of vegetables. Brooke opts for the vegetables. They then toast to him and Bridget, and to saying goodbye with no regrets. Brooke suggests that he ask Bridget to move in with him, so he doesn't have to risk being with her when he comes to see Bridget. She knows it's the right thing to do, even though she'll miss Nick. Just as Bridget comes in and opens the door, Nick sits down next to Brooke. Bridget listens as Nick says that he'll never be far if she or Hope needs him. She thinks they'll be fine. And if some knight in shining armor sweeps her off her feet, he says. She says she can't imagine that. What will be hard, he says, is not loving her.

Bridget glares at her mother and Nick.
Just then, the door slams; Nick turns and sees Bridget standing there, glaring at him and her mom!
