Caitlin and Hector wonder how Gaby is doing.
Caitlin is in her basement office at Forrester with Thomas, looking through some old portfolios for an old design by Eric. She finds the design and explains to Thomas that she wants the same feel in her latest design. Thomas teases her about ripping off his grandfather, but she explains that she's just paying homage to Eric. Hector interrupts their banter when he stops in with a sandwich for Caty; he's worried that she's not eating enough. She says she just gets so caught up in her work and forgets sometimes. Thomas promises to make sure she eats. Hector asks Thomas how Gaby is doing since her mother's death. Thomas says he can relate to Gaby, as he also lost his mom. He even stopped by her apartment to check on her, but the landlord kicked her out. Caitlin wonders if Gaby's with relatives, but Thomas says she doesn't have any in this country. They all hope she's OK.

Thomas wonders if he should check on Gaby.
Thomas wonders if he should go down to Gaby's neighborhood and ask if anyone's seen her. Hector and Caitlin think that's a good idea, but Thomas then reconsiders; he wonders how Gaby would react if she found out he was asking about her. Hector doesn't think it's a bad thing to be checking on a friend, but Thomas fears Gaby might think it's creepy. Hector doesn't think she will; he's seen enough people in his work who have no one to turn to, so he thinks Gaby will appreciate knowing that there's someone who cares about her.

Stephanie and Gaby have a heart to heart chat.
At the Forrester mansion, Stephanie meets with Helen's attorney and asks how things are with Gabriela. The attorney asks if Gaby has said anything. Stephanie says she hasn't, but that's probably because she has a lot on her mind. She tells the attorney that she and Eric offered to pay for Gaby's college, but Gaby refused. The attorney thinks college is the least of Gaby's concerns; she explains that even with the salary Stephanie paid her, Helen was in debt from providing for Gaby, and her life insurance barely covered it. She adds that she saw Gaby's car in the driveway - she came by to pick up some of Helen's things, Stephanie explains - and saw boxes in the back, so she suspects that Gaby is living in her car. Stephanie asks how that could be; with a little bad luck, the attorney says, anyone can be homeless. Stephanie says she knows about that [she was homeless once while suffering from stroke induced amnesia] and promises to make sure Gaby's taken care of. After the attorney leaves, Gaby comes in with a box of Helen's things. She's about to leave, but Stephanie stops her and asks what her plans are. Gaby wants to finish school and get a job. Stephanie hopes that means a summer job before college, but Gaby isn't sure.

Gaby considers Stephanie's offer.
Stephanie tells Gaby about the attorney's visit and asks the girl if she's living in her car. Gaby says she can take care of herself. Stephanie doesn't think so, since Gaby is only in high school, so she invites Gaby to stay here, in the guest house. She says Gaby will be like one of the family, and she and Eric can help Gaby go to college. She owes that to Helen. Gaby politely declines and turns to leave, but Stephanie stops her. She asks Gaby where she's going, but the girl doesn't know! She's confused, since her mom was all she had. Stephanie sits Gaby down and explains how much Helen meant to her. She knows Helen would want her daughter to go to college, so she urges Gaby to accept her offer. Gaby finally agrees, but on one condition: she won't accept charity and wants to earn her way, like her mother did. Stephanie agrees and offers Gaby a job as her personal assistant at Forrester. She's sure they can work out a schedule that will allow Gaby to register for college in the fall. Gaby agrees. Stephanie offers to to help Gaby bring her things to the guest house, but Gaby asks if she can stay in her mom's room instead. For a while, Stephanie agrees. Gaby thanks her.

Eric worries about Bridget.
At Ridge's house, Bridget frets that Ridge believes that Nick's punch caused his second concussion and went to have it out with Nick to even the score. Eric thinks Ridge has a right to confront the man who intentionally hit him and asks Bridget if that's the kind of man she wants to marry. Bridget insists that Nick is not the villain. But he showed little restraint in hitting Ridge, Eric argues. Bridget tells Eric that she knows he only wants to protect her, but he doesn't have to. She reminds him that he saw the change in her since she started dating Nick. Eric says that's true, but he still feels like she's rushing into this engagement. She says that everything just feels right when she's with Nick. Eric however still has reservations: he wants her to be happy, but he can't forget her history of rushing into marriage first. In addition, she's much younger than Nick, who not only dated another of his daughters recently, but also came this close to marrying Bridget's mom. As a father, he can't help but be concerned. Bridget says she loves Nick. Eric says he knows. He kisses her on the forehead and leaves.

Brooke is happy for Bridget.
Brooke tells Bridget that Eric is just concerned, especially given her own history with Nick. But that's supposedly over, Bridget says. It is, Brooke says: she's committed to her life with Ridge, and it looks like Nick wants that same kind of commitment now. She knows she was concerned before about Bridget getting involved with someone else she herself was involved with, but she knows Nick would never propose unless he really wanted to spend his life with Bridget. She sees how happy Nick makes her, and what else can a parent ask for? Bridget is thrilled that her mom is happy for her; she only wishes Ridge would feel the same way. Brooke doubts that will happen. Bridget agrees; she wishes Nick hadn't punched Ridge, even if Ridge provoked him. Brooke hopes Nick doesn't use that argument to defend himself. Why should he have to defend himself, Bridget asks, especially since Ridge is OK. Brooke says she told Ridge that, but then he recalled what Nick did. Bridget asks if Ridge just remembered that. Brooke asks if that means anything. Bridget explains that someone who regains their memory after a trauma will have all his memories come back fresh, like they just happened. If Ridge just remembered the punch, he might also recall other significant events in his life.

Ridge confronts Nick.
Aboard the Shady Marlin, Nick says he's sorry, but Ridge doesn't want an apology: he wants Nick to stay away from Brooke, Bridget and the rest of his family for good! Nick says this is between the two of them and has nothing to do with the family, but Ridge claims that Nick's punch almost cost him his family. Nick reminds Ridge how he only punched him after Ridge provoked him, and he'll do it again if Ridge doesn't stop crossing the line. Ridge recalls how he accused Nick of using Bridget to get to Brooke and wonders if he had it backward; maybe Nick is using Brooke's problems to play white knight to Bridget, he supposes. Nick tells him that he's so wrong, as he's committed to Bridget. But Bridget will never sleep with anyone other than the man she's going to marry, Ridge says. That's right, Nick says: from that comment, Ridge realizes that Nick and Bridget are engaged. He accuses Nick of waiting until he was out of the picture to take advantage of Bridget, but he won't let Nick get away with it!

Nick is stunned by Ridge's accusation.
Nick wonders where all this is coming from and asks Ridge what's wrong with him. Ridge says that Nick is what's wrong, just like he was the cause of the problem in the foundry in Puerto Vista, where Nick took advantage of Brooke. Nick can't believe that Ridge is bringing up that bit of ancient history and chalks it up to the stress Ridge has been feeling. Ridge says he wasn't able to save Brooke from being taken advantage of, but he will save Bridget! From who? Nick asks. Ridge says he figured out what was happening when Nick was on the beach with Bridget at the Jackie M party. Nick says that was just friendship. And was it also friendship when he comforted Brooke in the foundry? Ridge asks. When he took advantage of Brooke? Nick says he hasn't; he never did anything to Brooke or Bridget. Ridge disagrees - he tells Nick that Brooke was in mourning for him when Nick went ahead and raped her! Nick is stunned.
