Thomas tells Caitlin that he wants to stay with Gaby.
At the Forrester mansion, Caitlin tells Thomas that they should get going to make their reservation at Cafe Russe. Gabriela tells them not to hold up on her account; she can handle unpacking while they go and have a great time. She leaves the room. Thomas looks after her; Caitlin assures him that Gaby will be OK, but he worries about the memories that might come back to Gaby in her mom's old room. He says he can't leave Gaby alone and hopes Caitlin isn't mad at him. Caitlin says she isn't; it makes sense to her that he'd want to help Gaby, since he also lost his mom. She says he's so caring, which is one of the reasons she likes him. One of the reasons? he asks. She promises to tell him the rest next time they go out. Even better would be to show him, he says. It's a deal, she says; she gives him a goodbye kiss, says she'll see him tomorrow and leaves.

Gaby reveals what the song she was humming means.
Gaby comes back in and is surprised to see Thomas still there. She asks where Caitlin is. Thomas tells her that they canceled their plans. Gaby hopes it wasn't because of her. He says his pasta's better than Cafe Russe anyway, plus he couldn't leave until he heard that song she was about to sing for him. She goes over by the terrace door and starts singing in Spanish. She starts to cry and has to stop. Thomas says that was beautiful. She tells him it's about a woman who's like... Like a precious stone, he finishes. Surprised, she explains the rest of the lyrics; the woman is a gem God made in answer to a dream. Since he understood the song, she asks if he speaks Spanish; enough to know how much her mom loved her, he replies. She cries harder, so he reaches out and hugs her.

Bridget's mood changes as she listens to Nick tell Brooke how he feels.
Above deck at the Shady Marlin, a devastated Bridget listens as Brooke asks Nick if he still loves her. He says he always will. Then why propose to Bridget? Brooke asks. Nick asks her to let him finish. Meeting her, he explains, turned him around. She opened the eyes of a lonely, cynical sea captain so he'd know when he'd met the woman he'd spend the rest of his life with: Bridget. While he'll always love Brooke for that gift, Bridget's the only one with a hold on him. Above deck, Bridget gasps in relief. Brooke and Nick hear the gasp and turn to the door as Bridget comes below, tears still in her eyes, but smiling. Nick smiles back at her.
Bridget apologizes for eavesdropping, but she's glad she heard what she did. Nick's glad, too, since it was the truth. And Nick's a man of his word, Brooke points out. Bridget wishes someone would tell that to Ridge, who just told her what a huge mistake it would be to marry Nick. Nick says they knew Ridge wouldn't like the idea of their getting married, but it doesn't matter, since they're going to face that. He promises that her mother will never come between them, just like he won't come between her mom and Ridge. Brooke says the same goes for her: all she wants is for Bridget to be happy, so she promises to be the biggest supporter Nick and Bridget have. Bridget hugs Brooke and thanks her; she then takes Nick and Brooke by the hand and thanks them both. Nick smiles and kisses her.

Nick makes a promise to Bridget.
After Brooke leaves, Nick battens down the hatches. He comes down and sees Bridget wiping tears from her eyes; he realizes she's been through a lot and asks if he was clear when he told her how he felt about Brooke. She says he was, and it's not that she didn't believe him. Nick offers to tell her again if she wants. She says it's not her, but her mom. Tonight, he looked her mom in the eyes and chose her over her mom, the first time anyone ever did that. Nick says it's because he loves her. She asks what she did to deserve him. He thinks he should be the one asking that, since he's the slob who won over the belle of the ball. She asks if that's how he thinks of her. He says she's the girl who turns every head in the room. She says that was always her mom, not her. She even recalls being a teenager and getting knocked over by reporters trying to get to Brooke. It was always about her mom. She thought things had changed when she met Deacon, until she overheard him talking to her mom. That's why she could barely breathe when she heard him talking to Brooke tonight, until he said... Nick holds her and tells her that she'll always be safe with him; she'll never have to look over her shoulder for her mother again. Bridget realizes that she's really all his now. "For the rest of our lives and beyond," he says in a mock Scottish accent. She doesn't want this to end. Then it shan't, he says in the mock accent before kissing her.

A pleased Eric welcomes Ridge back to Forrester.
Ridge calls Eric over to the house to talk. When Eric arrives, Ridge frets about Bridget's engagement, saying she deserves better. Eric guesses they'll have to find a way to convince Bridget of that. Actually, Ridge says, that's not why he called him over. He reaches over to his portfolio, hands Eric a sketch and asks what he thinks. Eric looks it over and asks when he did this. Before dawn today, Ridge says: he was inspired, or at least he thought he was. It's the best work Ridge has done in years, Eric states. Ridge tells him to take it; Eric thanks him for the gift, but Ridge sees it more as a job application. Getting his memory back drove home what's important in his life, and he sees now how much he's missed Forrester. That's why he'd like to come back, if Eric will have him. Eric asks when he can start; Ridge says he thinks he already did. Eric thinks that's wonderful news and welcomes Ridge back to the fold with a hug.

Ridge thinks he knows what's really on Nick's mind.
Ridge breaks away from the embrace when Brooke walks in. He and Eric tell her she'd just in time to celebrate the return of Forrester's lead designer. Brooke thinks that's wonderful. Ridge asks where she's been; she tells him she went to Nick's and asks Eric if she can have some time alone with her husband. Of course, Eric says; he tells Ridge he'll see him in the office tomorrow and they can put this design into production. After Eric leaves, Ridge asks Brooke why she went to Nick's; she hopes Nick didn't call her to complain about her jerk of a husband. Brooke says she went over there on her own after he stormed off earlier to give Nick a piece of his mind. She tells him that Nick told her about his accusations about Puerto Vista; she knows that seems like it just happened in his mind, but they've all moved on. They have an amazing marriage now, and Bridget and Nick only want the same thing. Ridge however thinks that the only marriage Nick values is the one he almost had with her.
Brooke asks Ridge to be supportive, for Bridget's sake.
Brooke assures Ridge that Nick has changes; if she believes that, Ridge says, she's bound to be as disappointed as Bridget is. Brooke admits she was as skeptical as he was before today. He asks if Nick's proclaiming his heartfelt, undying love for Bridget changed her mind. Yes, she says, it did. She knows Nick, and she's sure that he really has closed the door on their relationship for good and will be a good husband to Bridget. Ridge says Nick will never get the chance to show his devotion to Bridget. Brooke asks him not to interfere; she reminds him of the tough times Bridget has had over the years, largely because of them, so she thinks they owe it to Bridget to make this wedding the best she could ever have. She thinks this could be a time to pull the family together and forget the pain, if only he can give Nick and Bridget his blessing, for Bridget's and all of their sakes. If it means that much to her, Ridge says, he'll try.
