Thomas and Bridget talk about Ridge thinking he's seen Taylor.
At Ridge's house, Bridget tells Thomas that Ridge still thinks he saw Taylor. Thomas worries that his dad keeps insisting that his mom is still alive, but he's also a bit relieved. Why's that? Bridget asks. He explains that they really don't talk about his mom lately, because Brooke's done a great job "filling in," so it's nice to know that his dad hasn't completely forgotten his mom. Bridget doesn't think Ridge will ever forget Taylor. But his dad thinks his mom's alive, Thomas says. He recalls when he used to pray for that to happen, but after a while, he had to accept that it couldn't and move on. He knows his mom isn't coming back. But she's not completely gone, either, Bridget tells him, because Taylor lives on in him and his sisters every day.

Eric and Stephanie worry about Ridge.
At the Forrester mansion, a thoughtful Stephanie looks at a photo of Taylor and recalls Ridge insisting earlier that his late wife was still alive. She then flashes back to giving Taylor a necklace as her way of showing that Taylor was part of the family. Eric comes in and asks if she still misses Taylor. She tells him that Ridge keeps insisting that Taylor is alive. But Ridge was there when she died, Eric reminds her. She says that she was reminding Ridge of just that when the doctor brought in a copy of the death certificate, signed by a doctor no one recognized; that was all it took to arouse Ridge's suspicions. In a way, she thinks she can understand; Ridge reminded her that there were no alarms when Taylor died, since she unhooked herself from the monitors. And when they went in, Eric recalls, she was dead. They think back to that day; Mark and some interns came for the body, but Ridge wouldn't let them go in. But someone declared her dead, Eric says. Stephanie says she knows that, but she has to admit that Ridge's suspicions reminded her of how chaotic that day was. She knows they were all there when they buried Taylor, but with everything that's happened over the last few days, she can see why Ridge would be suspicious. She fears Ridge won't let go until he has ironclad proof.

Mark calls Stephanie to see if she's heard from Ridge.
Eric wonders if all this came about after Ridge regained his memory following his concussions. On the other hand, he fears that this could be part of a cruel hoax. Stephanie suggests that they talk to Lt. Baker. Just then she gets a phone call from Mark, who tells her that Ridge has left the hospital. He asks if she's heard from Ridge, but she tells him that she hasn't. Mark tells her not to worry too much, since Ridge's tests checked out and they were only keeping him overnight as a precaution. Stephanie thanks him for calling and hangs up. She then tells Eric and suggests that they call Brooke to make sure Ridge is safe at home. Eric agrees and is sure that's where Ridge is; he bets Ridge wanted to be home with his wife and kids after a difficult day.
But Ridge is still in the cemetery, digging up Taylor's grave with Nick and Thorne. They hear a siren; Thorne stops, but Nick doesn't think it's anyone coming after them. But what they're doing still IS a crime, Thorne says, and they're also defiling Taylor's grave: he thinks it's insane to desecrate Taylor's memory this way, so he's done, and he pleads with Ridge to stop, too! He thinks this will only cause Ridge more pain. Nick suggests that Thorne has a point, but Ridge adamantly states that he needs to know. Nick suggests that they find the doctor who signed the death certificate, but Ridge defiantly says no one knows who that is. Then they'll find someone who knows what happened that day, Thorne says. Ridge flashes back to the "Lady in Pink" and says he has to know if that was Taylor or not, even if he has to dig the grave up himself! He resumes shoveling. Thorne looks like he doubts his brother's sanity, but he reluctantly picks up his shovel and starts to help dig again.

Thorne asks Nick why they are helping Ridge.
After a while, Nick and Thorne take a break. Thorne asks Nick to talk to Ridge, but Nick thinks Ridge has made up his mind to do this, with or without them. Thorne tells Nick that Taylor was a religious person who would be horrified by this. Who wouldn't be? Nick asks. Then why are they doing this? Thorne asks. Because they're blood, Nick says; he points out they're almost there, so he suggests that they let Ridge see what he wants to and leave. Ridge asks what the two of them are talking about. Nick sarcastically says they're figuring out what the jail time for grave robbing is in this state. Ridge points out that he's Taylor's husband, so he has every right to do this. But it makes no sense, Thorne says. Ridge says it will when he finds the truth. Nick makes some jokes about this being Ridge's idea of family bonding as he continues to dig. He then asks Ridge if he could be wrong about the woman he saw. Ridge recalls that she was wearing a veil, but he's sure it was Taylor. Thorne urges Ridge to go home to his wife and kids where he belongs, but Ridge is intent on continuing.

A determined Ridge reaches Taylor's casket.
When they finally reach the vault, Ridge asks Nick and Thorne to help him open it. Once they do, Ridge tells them to go, as he needs to do this alone. Thorne refuses to leave Ridge alone here, but Ridge reminds both of them how they only came here reluctantly to begin with. Nick thinks Ridge might need them, so Thorne suggests that they wait over there until Ridge is done, but Ridge orders them to go! Nick and Thorne reluctantly leave. Ridge gets back in the grave and clears the dirt off the casket. He looks at the casket and tells "Taylor" he's doing this because he loves her, and because he needs to know if there's a chance she's alive somewhere. He flashes back to moments in their history: St. Thomas, their first wedding, dancing by the Forrester pool, the birth of the twins, their last time with their kids, her dying in his arms, and finally, his placing his wedding band in her casket. He says he wants to remember her like she was when she was alive, not like this. He prays that she'll forgive him if he's made a mistake, but he needs to know the truth. He takes a deep breath and starts to open the casket.
