Jackie thanks Amber for helping Ridge.
The Marone jet carries Massimo, Jackie, Ridge and Amber back to L.A. As Jackie offers her some tea, Amber thanks them for being so nice to her. Massimo and Jackie think a ride home is the least they could do after she got Ridge away from Morgan. Ridge doesn't think Morgan would have hurt him. Mass points out that they can't be sure what Morgan did thanks to Ridge's concussion, so they have no idea what to believe. The important thing, Jackie says, is that Ridge is going home to his family. Ridge asks how much longer they'll be. Massimo says they're nearing L.A., so Ridge decides to call Brooke before they land.

Stephanie's pleased by Brooke's news of Ridge coming home.
Over at Ridge's house, Brooke tells Stephanie how Ridge was with Morgan in Venice. Stephanie wonders if the police are looking for Morgan. Ridge didn't really say, Brooke replies. Stephanie frets that Morgan always wanted Ridge's child. But that didn't happen, Brooke says, since Ridge loves her. Stephanie admits she was having doubts about Ridge, but Brooke never lost faith. Brooke says she knows Ridge better than anyone and wishes she'd remembered that when she threw him out. Just then, the phone rings: it's Ridge, calling to tell Brooke that they're near L.A.; he can't wait to see her. Brooke says she can't either and hands the phone to Stephanie, who's glad to hear he's OK. She says he can tell her everything tomorrow, after he's had time with his wife. She then hands the phone back to Brooke. Ridge tells his wife that he has to go, as they're about to land; Brooke says she'll be waiting.

Amber tries to get Ridge to understand.
As the plane starts to descend, Ridge takes a seat beside Amber, who bets Brooke is excited and relieved that he's coming home. Ridge guesses Brooke can thank Amber for that. Amber admits it doesn't make up for her mistakes. No, Ridge says, it doesn't. Amber just wants him to understand that she really was trying to protect his family, even if he didn't see that before. Ridge advises her to quit while she's ahead, since he just wants to move past Venice, and even Big Bear. Massimo points out that Ridge just wants to get back to his family, and Jackie is sure he's grateful for Amber's help. Yes, Ridge says, he is; he just doesn't want anymore explanations or excuses. Amber says she gets it.

Ridge thanks Massimo for coming for him.
Once they land, Massimo gets a call that his driver is stuck in traffic; an anxious Ridge wants to get to Brooke, so he wants to find a cab. He thanks Massimo for coming for him. Mass gives him a hug and tells him not to make it so hard to find him next time. They're won't be a next time, Ridge says, since he's here where he belongs. He goes to find a cab. Jackie asks Amber where they can drop her. Amber's not sure what to do, since she gave up her place when she left for Venice.

Brooke thanks Stephanie for her support.
Back at Ridge's, Brooke looks at Ridge's photo as she waits for him to arrive. Stephanie offers to leave; Brooke invites her to stay to see her son, but Stephanie thinks Ridge needs the time alone with Brooke and the kids. Brooke thinks that's kind, especially since Stephanie didn't agree about throwing Ridge out. That's in the past, Stephanie says. Brooke reminds Stephanie that she could have easily taken Ridge's side, so Brooke wants to thank her. Stephanie says she had to respect that Brooke was concerned for her family. Brooke says she had a lot of support, not only from Stephanie, but from Nick and Bridget. Stephanie wishes she had an idea Morgan was out, as she would have realized things weren't as they seemed and called the FBI. But the one thing she has to admire is that for once, Brooke thought of her family over herself. Brooke says she had a good role model for that in Stephanie. Stephanie admits she was also wrong about something; even though Brooke is still the most stubborn woman she knows, she has to say Brooke has changed and grown up. Brooke thanks her and moves toward her, but Stephanie takes that as her cue to leave. As she heads out, she tells Brooke to enjoy the much deserved time with Ridge.

Ridge arrives home.
Brooke stands by the window, looking at a photo of her and Ridge. She thinks about how Ridge will be here in just a few minutes, back where he belongs. The door opens; Ridge walks in, carrying a big bouquet of roses. He sees Brooke by the window and says, “Logan, I'm home.” Brooke turns to him and they smile at each other.

Bridget's impressed and amused by Nick's special evening.
Nick takes Bridget to Chuck's bar. She asks if this is what she's been waiting for; he reminds her that he promised to surprise her. Bridget feels a bit overdressed, since she thought he had something big planned. He tells her that tonight's Chuck's busiest night, all-you-can-eat wing night with dollar drafts. He smiles, takes her by the arm and leads her in - and as he turns on the light, he tells her that they'll be eating under the stars. Bridget is surprised to see that the place is decorated like a fancy restaurant. Chuck leads Mr. Marone and his date to a cozy table for two adorned with stars. Bridget says she gets the part about “under the stars” now and asks what's going on. Nick says he told her this was going to be special, and they're just getting started.

Chuck and Corky serve the first course, an appetizer; Bridget is impressed that, given all the silverware, they won't be eating with their hands. Nick says he thought they'd do something different tonight. Corky offers Bridget a choice of beers; once she picks, he starts to hand her the bottle, but Nick reminds him to use a glass. Bridget smiles as Nick tells his “waiters” that they're fine for now and proposes a toast to taking it slow, unless Bridget has other ideas; after all, she taught him to savor every moment. She asks if there's a seven course meal ahead. Only four or five, Nick says, since he's not that hungry. He just wants to thank her for opening him up to something new and suggests they dig in. They uncover the plates, and Bridget laughs to see one french fry, with a decorative ketchup pattern underneath. Nick says he told Chuck she likes French food and offers something else, but she says this is perfect - like him.

Nick admits it's been stressful lately. She says all she can remember recently is being with him. He tells her he meant it when he said he loved her. She says she can feel it, but he wants her to be sure, especially given her past relationships. She reminds him that he rescued her, not only from the mountain, but from the minute he walked into her life. He says a sailor couldn't leave another ship stranded at sea. But it's more than that, she says; he gets her more than anyone has. Nick says he wants her to know that she's safe with him. That's why he brought up family the other night. He's been a loner at sea all his life, so to find someone to chart a new voyage with is... Bridget says it would be amazing to take a trip with him. Nick's glad to hear that, but he just can't find the words, so he calls for Chuck to hit the lights and calls for some musicians to come out.

After singing “Soul Reason” - click here for extended lyrics - to Bridget, Nick proposes.
Joining the band, Nick tells Bridget that words can't describe how she inspires him. He admits he didn't know her well when he started this song, so he didn't know what it meant then. But he knows now. He then launches into a longer version of “Soul Reason” (although it's still not the full version on Jack Wagner's CD, which has one more verse). As he sings, we see flashbacks of fun times he and Bridget have spent together over the last few months. As he gets to the final chorus, he steps away from behind the microphone and walks toward her. He takes her by the hand as he finishes the song. He then gets down on bended knee and takes out a ring box.

Opening the box, Nick gazes at Bridget and says, “Bridget Forrester, I'd like to ask you to marry me.”
