Thomas tells Caitlin he's cool with her confiding in him at the party.
Caitlin arrives at Forrester and finds Thomas on the phone, discussing some samples. He hangs up and asks "Ramirez" why she's getting a late start. She says she had class. Thomas asks if she had a good time last night at the party. She says yes and asks about the call he just made. He says he was ordering some fabric swatches for the new collection. Caitlin's glad to hear that, since she got some design ideas last night and... Thomas can't believe she worked after the party. She says designing helps her relax. Then she was still thinking about the party, he guesses. She nervously starts to look for some charcoal. Thomas tells her that she can't pretend she didn't tell him how she felt last night. She wishes she could erase that night. He does, too, since he feels bad that his dad tried to use her to get rid of Amber. He tells her not to worry; it's cool that she confided in him. She jokes that he just likes having two chicks after him, but then seriously thanks him for being so cool about this. She knows he loves Amber, but she's glad they can still be friends. Nothing can change that, he says.

Caitlin accepts Thomas's invitation.
Caitlin tells Thomas that she's glad she can count on him after the way she treated him when she started dating Rick. He says that's old news and asks if she ever hears from Rick. She says he's busy at International. Thomas says he's sorry, but Caitlin tells him not to be. She sees now that she and Rick were in different places because of their age difference, and she's just glad he doesn't have that with Amber. They deal with it, he says. Caitlin thinks that's mature of him; he's glad someone thinks so. She tells him not to worry; his dad will come around in time. She then looks through her mail and finds an invitation from Thomas to his winter formal. Shouldn't he be taking his girlfriend? she asks. He tells her that a high school dance isn't Amber's thing. But since Roxbury puts on a hell of a party, including a dance contest that he doesn't want to miss, he thought he'd invite a friend. That is, unless she feels funny about going with him after last night? Caitlin asks if Amber knows. He tells her that Amber's OK with his taking a friend. In that case, Caitlin says, she'd love to go.

Nick tells Bridget to lighten up.
Over at Chuck's, Bridget tells Nick PAYNE that he's quite intuitive. He tells her that it's Marone now and thanks her for the backhanded compliment. She admits surprise that a crusty, unrefined old sailor understands her feelings. Nick says he's OK with "crusty" and "unrefined," but not old. She says she's serious. That he's old? he asks. She laughs at the way he wears her out. Nick's glad to see her laughing and tells her that he knows how she feels, since she's not the first woman he knows who put Forrester on a pedestal. Bridget suddenly realizes why Nick understands: he's gone through the same thing, since he never got over her mom!
Nick asks when this became about him. When she saw that he still has feelings for her mom, Bridget says. Nick says that Brooke's happy, so he's happy. Bridget doesn't buy it: if he was over her mom, he wouldn't be living alone on a boat or dragging her [Bridget] to parties like a human shield. Nick tells her to stop over-analyzing: he just doesn't dwell on what he can't have. Then why not stop living like a monk and get out there to meet people? she asks. He thinks she's one to talk given her issues with Forrester and her yen for older, married men with lots of kids. She asks if he's serious. He says you have to keep a sense of humor: if you haven't laughed at yourself today, he says, you missed the real joke. Bridget says she's trying. He guesses it's tough for her to be back. Especially since she's not helping anyone, she says, including her mom. Nick advises her to back off and let things work themselves out, but she doesn't want to mess up her mom and Ridge's chance at happiness.

Brooke asks Ridge to promise never again to cross the line with Bridget.
At Ridge's Bel Air home, Brooke asks Ridge to make her a promise that he'll never break. He thinks she's getting too worked up over this, but she thinks of all the times she wasn't there for Bridget. If her daughter needs her now, she wants to be there for her, no matter what. Ridge asks what she thinks Bridget will do. It's not about what Bridget WILL do, Brooke says, but about what he WON'T do. She needs him to promise that the kisses he shared with Bridget will never happen again. He asks why she thinks they would. Because Bridget is in pain, she says. The most important things to her, even above her marriage, are her kids, which is why she needs him to tell her that he won't cross that line with Bridget ever again!

Ridge gives Brooke his word.
Ridge gives Brooke his word. He'll never go there again. Even unintentionally, she asks, like he did last time? He reminds her that he was grieving then, so he was confused. But the man that she sees here is anything but confused. He cares for Bridget as family and would never hurt her. However, he tells Brooke that she's his life, and he couldn't live without her. He hopes she can believe that. Brooke says she did believe that, until she saw him call Bridget "Princess" last night, like he did when Bridget lived here before. He says he was trying to help. But he's not, she says. Even if it's unintentional, he was hurting Bridget, and that's why this has to stop now. She wants to make herself clear: there will be no more kisses, caresses or calling her daughter, "princess." Ridge promises: it ends here. He's glad they had this talk and got things out in the open. Brooke says she just wants Bridget to find the same happiness she has. Ridge admits it sometimes seems too good to be true. Especially after all these years, Brooke agrees: maybe that's why she's a bit paranoid about this. Ridge tells her not to feel that way, since nothing will ruin what they have. R.J. starts crying, so Ridge goes to check on their son.
Bridget comes through the door. Brooke, sitting on the couch, asks her to come in and talk. Bridget says she has stuff to do, but Brooke says it will only be a minute. She tells Bridget she knows about Oscar, and about Bridget's feelings for Ridge. The only thing she doesn't know is, why couldn't her own daughter turn to her? Now that it's out in the open, Bridget takes off her engagement ring; she only wore it to keep her mom from getting caught up in her problems. But that's what mom's are for, Brooke says. She asks Bridget if she was too afraid to tell her. Bridget says she was afraid, of her feelings for her own mother's husband. That's why she tried so hard to make it work with Ozzy. But she felt like something was missing, something she last had when she was living here with Ridge and his kids. She hoped coming home and seeing the life Brooke and Ridge had built would show her that she over romanticizing and allow her to close that chapter, but it turned into a mess.

Bridget tearfully opens up to Brooke.
Bridget hopes Brooke isn't angry with her and wouldn't blame her if she was after the years she [Brooke] spent trying to have a life with Ridge. Now her mom finally has that life, and it sickens her to think that she's disrupting that. She just wants it to end, which is why she's going back to Copenhagen. Brooke says she's not going anywhere. Yes, she's upset, but it's because Bridget wouldn't confide in her. She's always felt like her daughter is a part of her that she's obligated to help and protect, but she sometimes didn't do a good job of it. But even so, nothing is more important to her than her daughter, and she hopes Bridget sees now that she can come to her if she wants. Bridget, in tears, says she knows that and wishes she had come to her sooner. She embraces her mother as Brooke says they have each other, and that's all that matters. "You are all that matters," she adds, holding her daughter. She smiles at Bridget, who looks at her mom and says, "I love you."
