Ridge promises to help Bridget sort out her feelings.
On the beach outside the Bikini Beach bar, Bridget apologizes to Ridge for dragging him into her mess. Ridge reminds her that he's part of the reason she's hurting right now, but she says that she's the one that's screwed up. She insists that he not get involved, as she doesn't want to cause problems in his marriage to her mom or their family. But they have to talk this problem out to solve it, Ridge states. Nick tells Ridge to back off: he thinks Bridget needs some space now and offers to drive her home. Ridge thanks Nick for the offer but thinks he should drive Bridget home. Nick thinks being around Ridge is the last thing Bridget needs, but Ridge thinks he knows Bridget's needs better than Nick. Nick can't believe that Ridge can't see that Bridget needs some room right now and suggests that Bridget stay with her father. Ridge however sees nothing wrong with his concern for Bridget and is sure he can help Bridget sort her feelings out just fine.

Nick reminds Ridge that playing the sensitive hero with Bridget is what got her into this mess. Bridget tells him she's OK, but Nick thinks that her staying at Ridge's won't be good for her or her mother. Ridge says that Brooke is just as concerned about Bridget as he is. Does that mean he intends to tell Brooke? Nick asks. Bridget says he can't, but Ridge insists that his marriage is solid. Bridget just wants this to be over. Then come home with him, Ridge tells her. She agrees. Nick asks Bridget if she's sure; she starts to answer, but Ridge interrupts and says she'll be fine. Nick nods and leaves. Bridget then apologizes to Ridge again for complicating his life, She wonders if Nick is right that she should move out of Ridge's house. She's not hung up on him, but she hasn't been able to find anything that's made her as happy as living with him and his kids did. Then come home and let them take care of her, Ridge says.

Stephanie gives Brooke a warning.
At Ridge's Bel Air mansion, Brooke's in the living room, wearing a sexy nightgown and lighting some candles. She anticipates Ridge coming home for a little romance and thinks back to many of their past moments together as "Unforgettable" plays. Meanwhile, Stephanie steps up to the front door and finds a note (obviously meant for Ridge) that reads "Come on in," so she takes the note and does just that, pinning it on a statue as she enters the house. Brooke has her back to the door but hears it open: thinking it's Ridge, she tells "him" how they have the house to themselves and suggests a massage. Stephanie comes up behind Brooke and puts her hands on Brooke's shoulders in a mock massage: realizing it's not her husband, Brooke whirls around and asks her mother-in-law what she's doing!

Stephanie points out the sign to Brooke and says she was invited. She can't believe Brooke carries on this way with the kids around. Thomas is at a friend's and Hope and R.J. are asleep, Brooke says. She asks Stephanie what she wants. Stephanie says she wants to talk about Bridget and wonders how much time Bridget's spent with Ridge lately. Brooke tells her not to go there, but Stephanie thinks she has reason to. She's been worried that Bridget hasn't been herself, so she called Oscar and found out that Bridget broke off their engagement. When she sees that Brooke didn't know that, she asks Brooke to think about why Bridget didn't tell her. Brooke recalls the hug she saw Bridget and Ridge share; she then tells Stephanie that Bridget just has problems and needs support from her family. But she doesn't need support from Ridge, Stephanie says, reminding Brooke what happened the last time a confused Bridget turned to Ridge. Brooke can't believe that Stephanie would even suggest that Bridget would do anything to hurt this family and refuses to listen to what she thinks is a ploy by Stephanie to make her feel insecure. Stephanie points out that Bridget gets swept up in her emotions, just like her mother. She reminds Brooke how history often repeats itself and warns Brooke to keep her eyes open. Brooke says her eyes ARE open and insists that ugly part of their lives is over.

Nick tells Stephanie about Bridget.
Stephanie leaves and calls Nick. She tells the seaman that she heard Bridget was with him tonight - it's not clear who told her that, since Brooke didn't - and asks if she can speak with Bridget. Nick says she's not there. Steph then asks where she is; she's with Ridge, Nick says, hanging up. Stephanie then heads over to the Shady Marlin, where a shirtless Nick is working below deck painting his life preservers. He says he was expecting her and apologizes for the outfit. She asks why he took Bridget to his mother's party but didn't bring her home. Nick asks for her opinion on the shade of blue paint he's using, but she wants to talk about Bridget. He tells her that Ridge drive her home. Stephanie asks why; Nick asks her why she's asking him, as he's tired of being pulled into her family's drama. Because she needs answers, she says. She reminds him what happened between Bridget and Ridge after Taylor did and is worried that it might happen again.

Nick admits that it has: he tells her that Bridget hasn't been able to get past her feelings for Ridge. She had a meltdown about it at the party and told him everything, but then Ridge showed up, overheard and took her home. He admits he's worried about Bridget living in that house, especially because of what this could do to Brooke. He fears this could out a strain on Brooke's marriage. Stephanie suggests that he wouldn't mind that; Nick says he's not part of this equation, but her golden boy son is. If Ridge really cares about Brooke and Bridget, Nick suggests, he'll keep his sappy support to himself and back off.

Bridget tells Ridge that she feels like she has no life anymore.
Bridget and Ridge arrive at his house. She thanks him for the ride and heads upstairs, but he calls after her to talk. She says there's nothing to talk about: she'll stay tonight and then move into her dad's in the morning. Ridge tells her that he's sorry: he really thought she had moved on when she left for Copenhagen. She said she wanted him to believe that, and she wanted to believe it herself, too. She tried to make it work with Oscar, but it just didn't feel right. Nothing's felt right for a long time. Even med school? Ridge asks. She says school is still important to her, but it's not her whole life, and right now she doesn't feel like she has a life.

Brooke witnesses an emotional moment.
Ridge tells Bridget that he's going to change that. He's glad she came back, since it will give him the chance to help her find the happiness she needs. He assures her that she's an amazing, intelligent, ambitious woman, so there's no reason she shouldn't be having the time of her life. He feels like his mistake is the only thing holding her back, which is why he vows to make sure that she gets her life back. He gives her a hug and holds her tight, and he asks if she remembers what he used to call her. "Princess," she sobs, just as Brooke comes downstairs and peeks into the room. A stunned Brooke watches the embrace, and she gets even more concerned when Ridge tells Bridget, "You'll always be my princess." She looks on in disbelief as Ridge holds a sobbing Bridget even tighter.
