Rick asks Brooke to keep the Ambrosia line in production while Brooke is away.
At Forrester, Rick is in Brooke's office, telling her about his breakfast with Taylor this morning. He explains that while they can't hear from Amber directly, Taylor assured him that Amber is comfortable at the rehab clinic. He keeps thinking of how she bought those pills from some low-life drug dealer and thinks that he has to make sure he's there for his wife. He already is, Brooke assures him. With Erica's help, Rick adds: he and Brooke agree that Erica has been a big help and Rick isn't sure what he'd do without her. He then asks Brooke for a favor for Amber: he asks to keep production on the Ambrosia line moving so that Amber won't feel guilty about her absence. Brooke agrees, saying she will bring it up at the meeting. Rick is sure they can keep the momentum on the line going, so nothing can stop them now.

Ridge gives the Spectra gang a pep talk about their plans for Forrester.
Over at Spectra, Ridge walks into the outer office and thinks of the irony that he is working with the likes of Sally. He enters the office, where Sally, Clarke, Tony, Darla and Massimo are waiting. He notices some change in the air around the office: Sally admits that she has bought some expensive new furniture as well as jewelry for herself. After all, she has the money thanks to Ridge and Mass, so why not flaunt it? Ridge agrees and then says it's time to get to work, giving everyone a pep talk about triple checking everything to make sure they are ready to make Spectra the premiere fashion house in America. The elegance, grace and quality of their product will gain them worldwide respect, he predicts, so it's time to make that happen. As they get to work, Ridge thinks that he still can't get used to equating Spectra with quality.

While Brooke wonders about Sally's threats, Whip and Kristen think Sally is just grandstanding.
In Brooke's office, she's joined by Eric, Thorne, Kristen, Whip and Rick to talk about the Ambrosia showing. Rick emphasizes how, with Amber in rehab, it's important to keep moving forward. Won't that put Amber in the spotlight with the press, Kristen asks? Deacon can handle the press, Eric says... and speaking of Deacon, where is he? Whip and Brooke assure Eric that Deacon is meeting with the product placement executives and that Whip can handle the press in the meantime. That bothers Eric: he has to wonder if prompting the line so aggressively will take away from the line's appeal. Already, demand is high, and he wonders if the overexposure might push the numbers so high that they can't sustain them. Rick tells his dad, and Brooke agrees, that the youth market is always looking for something new and trendy, so the old rules don't apply. That kind of appeal is exactly why they have to push forward. With Brooke's support, Eric agrees. Thorne then points out that Spectra has changed their showing date to the same day as the Ambrosia line's showing and that Spectra has been buying a lot of high-quality fabric. Eric asks Kristen if Tony has said anything and she says no, but she and Eric are sure that this is just the usual bluster from Spectra. Brooke isn't so sure, especially because of her recent encounter with Sally at Cafe Russe and Sally's threat to "take her down." Whip says that was just a drunk Sally grandstanding, but Brooke can't help but wonder. Rick has an idea how they can find out: what if someone from Forrester visited her husband at Spectra, he asks, looking at Kristen? Kristen is reluctant to spy on Tony, but Brooke, Thorne and Eric assure her that Sally has sabotaged them before, so it would be looking out for the family, not spying. Kristen reluctantly agrees and leaves. Once she is gone, Thorne wonders what she'll find. Rick says whatever it is won't matter because of the momentum of the Ambrosia line. Whip and Eric agree that Sally's never been able to seriously compete with them, so she's probably just making empty threats again.

Tony isn't comfortable hiding Ridge's involvement from Kristen.
Over at Spectra, Ridge goes on about how their opportunity to crush Forrester just became a little more golden because of Amber's addiction to pain killers. Now Forrester will be even less prepared for their attack, he says. Tony doesn't like using Amber's addiction against her. Ridge says that's not what he's doing: while he feels sorry for Amber personally, this is business. What if the line is still a hit, even with Amber in rehab, Clarke asks? Ridge is sure that the Ambrosia line is chasing a trend and a fickle audience that will give up on it within a year. By the time that happens, Forrester will be swimming in debt from the money they've spent promoting the teen line, and with Spectra on top in the couture business, it will be too late for Forrester to save itself. Tony admits that part doesn't sit well with him: while he wants Spectra to succeed, he wants it to be a fair competition, and he has no interest in blind siding his wife by hiding from her that Ridge and Massimo are bankrolling Spectra. Ridge says he has to: after all, Tony will need to support Kristen when Forrester goes out of business, so his success here will allow him to do that. But he doesn't WANT it out of business, Tony states! Ridge states that Forrester is destroying itself by producing this teen line: all Spectra is doing, meanwhile, is producing some beautiful designs and presenting them to the world. As long as that's all it is, Tony is fine, but Sally and Clarke gloating about crushing Brooke Logan and her company doesn't sit well with him. He thinks they should go public with Ridge's involvement, now!

Kristen looks at the designs and fabrics in Tony's office.
Kristen walks into Clarke and Tony's empty office and decides this is a perfect time to look around. Looking at the expensive fabrics and elegant designs filling the room, she notes how this isn't Tony's usual style, so she wonders what's going on.
Ridge and Sally remind Tony that the element of surprise is essential to Spectra's success. He can't tell Kristen, they stress: doing so will only put her in an impossible situation where she has to tell her family, which will in turn waste all the hard work they've been doing here at Spectra. Tony disagrees: it won't waste their work, he claims. All it will do is put them in the position to compete with Forrester fair and square. He's not afraid of that -- but is Ridge?

Sally and Tony tell Kristen that nothing is going on.
Just then, there's a knock on the door: it's Kristen! Ridge tells Tony to get rid of her and hides behind a changing screen. Sally and Tony go to the office door and open it, making sure not to let Kristen inside. Kristen apologizes for interrupting, but she was worried because she heard arguing. Sally assures her that it was just a standard disagreement, and Tony agrees. Kristen asks to talk to her husband for a minute, but Sally says they are in a really important design meeting filled with trade secrets, so they have to ask Kristen to leave. Kristen asks Tony if everything is OK and he assures her it is, so she says she loves him and leaves.

Kristen is stunned to see Ridge in Sally's office!
Kristen waits for the elevator, but when it arrives, it is full, so she has to wait for it to empty and come back. While she is waiting, she sees some more of the new designs and fabrics off to the side, so she steps over to look at them. When Sally peeks through the blinds, all she can see is the elevator. When she sees Kristen is not there, she assumes the coast is clear and tells Ridge to come out. Tony says he still feels guilty lying to Kristen, but Massimo lectures him about separating his personal life from business. Tony may not like it, Mass says, but it's essential to consider how their success is important not only to Tony, but to Kristen as well. Still out in the hall Kristen hears Massimo's voice and wonders what he is doing in a Spectra design meeting. She opens up the door and barges in, demanding that Tony tell her why Massimo is here... and when she sees her brother in the room, she is stunned!
