Whip and Deacon argue about Brooke.
In the Promotions Office at Forrester, Whip is on the phone putting together some details for the Ambrosia showing. As he hangs up, he sees Deacon staring and asks "the bartender" what's up. Deacon says that Whip is really slick, so slick that, if he didn't know Brooke so well, he would have bought their fake story about having sex on their "honeymoon." Even knowing the truth, Whip points out, it doesn't change the message Brooke is sending about THEIR marriage and baby to Deacon. Deacon angrily reminds Whip that this is HIS child with Brooke, but Whip quickly reminds him that Bridget could always walk in, so he should keep quiet. Whip then remembers that Bridget won't be coming by because she's throwing a baby shower for his wife, a shower that all the Forrester women, including Stephanie are attending. So what, Deacon asks? Whip points out that this is a sign of Stephanie finally giving Brooke the respect Brooke has always wanted -- a respect she could never have if they knew the baby was Deacon's. Brooke's marriage to him, Whip claims, has finally gotten Brooke what she's wanted for years. Deacon thinks Whip is giving himself too much credit, but Whip reminds Deacon of one other important variable in this equation: Bridget. Brooke will never betray Bridget, Whip explains, so Deacon should accept that Brooke is moving on to do just that. Deacon says this ridiculous charade of a marriage won't protect Bridget, but Whip tells Deacon to just admit that Brooke doesn't want him and doesn't want anyone to know she is carrying his child. Nobody is listening to Deacon, he says, so he should just shut up. Maybe no one's listening, Deacon says, but he's sure a time will come when Whip will wish they had.

The Forrester girls gather for Brooke's shower.
At Brooke's house, she's been joined by Bridget, Kristen, Taylor, Stephanie, Megan and Erica (who's watching little Eric) for her shower. Bridget says it's time to open the gifts, starting with hers, a baby monitor. She explains that the other one is upstairs with her other gift, a crib. Brooke thanks Bridget for the beautiful gift. Next comes Megan's gift from the girls at the office, a certificate for 5 in-home massages for Brooke. Megan says she knows how hard things have been for Brooke over the years, so she wants her to enjoy this new beginning, to relax and really enjoy it. We don't get to see Taylor's gift, but Kristen has bought a mobile which Brooke is sure the baby will love. Finally, we get to Stephanie's gift, a lovely baby book. Everyone fawns over the gift as Stephanie explains why she got it. She admits that everyone was probably surprised to see her here given her past with Brooke, but as Megan said, this new baby is a new beginning. And while she knows Brooke will never change, there is one thing Brooke will always be: a good mother. She is sure that will be true with this child, so she wanted to give Brooke and Whip a chance to remember the wonderful life they'll give their child.

Bridget tells Brooke how much she means to her.
Brooke takes everyone up to the nursery, but Erica stays downstairs with little Eric. Little Eric turns on the baby monitor, and Erica is surprised to hear the voices coming from the nursery upstairs. Everyone upstairs admits what Brooke has done with the room. Brooke admits everything is perfect -- the crib, the baby monitor, the party. She thanks Bridget for everything. At that point, Megan has to leave, so she says her goodbyes and heads back to the office.

Erica is moved as she and little Eric listen in on the baby monitor.
Brooke then says how lucky she is to have all of them, especially Bridget, in her life. Bridget says she is the lucky one. She admits she and her mom have gone through some rough times over the years, but now they've become so close. She knows she can count on Brooke and trust her, no matter what happens, so she is proud to be able show Brooke how happy she is because of her. Brooke tells Bridget she loves her, too. Downstairs, Erica thinks how beautiful that sounded. She tells little Eric he is so lucky to be in a family like this where nothing could ever happen to him.

Brooke thanks Bridget as the shower breaks up.
With the shower breaking up, Brooke thanks everyone for coming. Brooke asks Bridget if she wants to stay. Bridget says she wanted to go by the office and tell Deacon about the party, so Brooke urges her to go see her husband. Taylor and Kristen say their goodbyes, followed by Stephanie. Brooke thanks her for the baby book, saying she can't wait to start filling it. Stephanie says she is sure Brooke, Whip and the baby have a wonderful life to look forward to and be grateful for. She says goodbye and leaves. Brooke closes the door and Erica offers to help clean up, but Brooke declines. Erica says this was an amazing party. Yes it was, Brooke admits, going up to the nursery.

Megan assures Whip that he has nothing to worry about.
At Forrester, Megan walks into the Promotion Office, where Whip is sitting. He is glad she got his message, because he needs to know if Deacon showed up at the shower to cause trouble. Why can't he leave Brooke alone, he asks, especially since Brooke is so determined to keep this secret from Bridget? Megan assures Whip that Deacon was not there, and she also thinks Whip shouldn't worry. After what she saw at the shower today, she is sure Brooke won't do anything to jeopardize her relationship with Bridget. There's absolutely nothing to be concerned about, she assures Whip.

Deacon has a chat with Brooke as he catches her alone in the nursery.
At Brooke's, Deacon comes into the nursery. Brooke is surprised to see him, but he explains he is there to find Bridget and take her to lunch. Brooke says Bridget went to look for him at the office. Deacon asks about the shower, and she says it was incredible. It helped her realize how important her relationship is with Bridget and that Bridget is really an amazing girl, she says. Yes, Deacon says, she is.

Bridget is stunned when Deacon says he loves Brooke!
Downstairs, Bridget comes in. She sees Erica and asks if Deacon is around, because she passed him on the way down the hill and his car is still in the driveway. Erica says she hasn't seen him, but she'll be sure to let Bridget know if she and little Eric see him by the pool. Bridget thanks her as Erica takes little Eric to the pool. Meanwhile, Bridget hears voices from the baby monitor, which is still turned on. She hears Brooke says how Bridget said such beautiful things at the shower: she loves Bridget so much and her happiness means everything to Brooke. "She loves you, Brooke," Deacon says. Bridget thinks that is so sweet and is about to go upstairs to surprise her husband, but she stops when she hears Deacon say he wants to talk to Brooke wile they're alone. Talk about what, Brooke asks? Bridget listens as Deacon recalls the last time he was here, when Brooke married Whip. He still can't believe they are married because Brooke deserves better than Whip! Brooke points out that she is committed to Whip and she is sure he will be a good father and husband. Deacon reminds Brooke how this all started, when Whip seized an opportunity and arbitrarily decided to tell them that he was the father of this child. Brooke admits that was true then, but now she and Whip are married and committed to each other. Maybe Whip does care about her, Deacon admits, but he will never love her, at least not nearly as much as Deacon loves her! Bridget hears this and is so shocked that she loses her balance. Sitting down, she is in shock as Deacon's words echo... "Not nearly as much as I love you, Brooke." A tear falls down her cheek as the words continue to echo.
